December 5, 2008 at 5:54 amWine is not on the list? Truly? Because sometimes my husband puts a glass in my hand just to save lives!

December 5, 2008 at 6:01 amMiz – I can rhyme pretty fast as well – for some reason it just rolls for me.
I must confess to not discovering “the list” above. I did watch the Doc. stand there and toss the apple for a while. That was clever.
Since I didn’t see the list, I shall hazard a guess that turtle sundaes made with frozen custard are not on it. And I don’t eat bananas because I appear to be allergic to them.
Word spy is coo – I love me some words!
Make it a great day.

December 5, 2008 at 6:06 amI look forward to your rhymes as well. that should be your second career or can you mix that in with the fitness?
that would make for a fun training session!!

Bea says
December 5, 2008 at 6:07 amLOL@ evan as that was what I was going to ask.

we need a holiday wish list then.
on my list is that book. PICK ME!!!
Nita says
December 5, 2008 at 6:23 amWhat a fun book! And the list is foods that are *good*, not weird.
I’ll pass on the milk (but I’ll do yogurt and cheese). And I definitely want to try those turtle treats. Did you see the pumpkin soup recipe?
Lots of stuff to explore!
Just_Kelly says

December 5, 2008 at 6:43 amNot enough time to watch the vid this early, but I just betcha that all of my “staple” foods are on the list: broccoli, spinach, pumpkin, tuna, eggs, cashews, bananas, etcetera etcetera.
I’ll pass on the dairy; this bod definitely does better without it.
MizFit says
December 5, 2008 at 6:47 amnah, no gifthintage up in herre.
I’m not a subtle one. I’d have added a complete wish list to my poem.
And the video @ the site? I was more linking the site, D’Mamma.
In fact I was so caught up in the book I forgot there was a video (I can’t lie to you, People).
Your staples are *my* staples except for pumpkin.
Judging by your strength & stamina I need to add it in.

December 5, 2008 at 7:04 amFor some reason today’s rhyme reminded me of Dr Seuss. I need to find all my old Dr Seuss books. Can’t wait to read those to the twins!
Anyways, that book looks AWESOME.
Petition to put popcorn on the list- you in, MizFit?
I can’t wait to tell my dad about the word “returnment” 😀 And I LOVE the idea of the Tip of My Tongue site. That is so what I need.
I know what’s going on my Christmas wish list now, too- S’mores maker! This could be so dangerous but so wonderful at the same time (damn, graham crackers and marshmallows should totally also be on that list…).

December 5, 2008 at 7:50 amThis is such a great book! One of my friends has it, and I was looking through hers the other night. She made one of the recipes in it for my husband and me, and it was amazing! I would love a copy of my own!

Happy Friday Miz!
MizFit says

Eminem? High praise indeed. Love him or loathe him he is TALENTED.
I’d also take Jack Prelutsky, Ludacris, or Shel Silverstein.
Just sayin’ 😉
Peanut butter is definitely on my list.
Sure, in moderation (with almond, cashew and sunflower seed butter!) but for sure.
And the tuna?!
I KNOW.
We’ve established I eat a can a day (I know. I know. Not great) and it’s like 4.00+ (the family sized. Miz eats for the entire family ;)).

December 5, 2008 at 8:25 amIs Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food on there? Probably not (sigh).
And I’ll probably drag BK to borders to get that book this weekend (poor impulse control on the book front), so if I win, give it to a Canadian (as they’re not eligible for half of these givaways).

i will be delving into the info on the book hoping, hoping to find that Peanut Butter Cups are on there.
i mean..its protein..right?
🙂
Heather says
December 5, 2008 at 9:24 amHot peppers are only health food if they don’t make you sick for months when you eat them (me + spicy = bad news).
But I’ll guess there’s a lot of fruits and vegetables. YUM.
And I’ll take salmon, tilapia, chicken, turkey, peanut butter and bison for protein.
Off to get caught up at work.
Hannah says
December 5, 2008 at 9:49 amI like the idea of the book. Nothing like a YES to motivate me to eat better.
I am guessing that fresh baked chocolate chip cookies aren’t on the list, nor the dough that they come from. Both make me weak in the knees…

December 5, 2008 at 10:02 amI bet beans are on the list. I love beans! Such good protein and fiber. And, no matter how nutritionally powerful fish may be, I will never eat any type of animal flesh.

December 5, 2008 at 11:09 amWhat a fun book! I don’t need one, but I have to say that I refuse to eat carrots. Cooked, raw, seasoned, unseasoned – they are G-R-O-S-S.
(In all fairness though, I only think that because that was ALL I ate one summer. I got thin, but I sure had a funny-looking “tan!” HA! But, yeah. I’ve not been able to look at them since.)
TokaiAngel says
December 5, 2008 at 11:14 amLiver IS awful unless you go to a really fancy restaurant and pay top whack for it. Then it’s amazing.
Personally I KNOW there will be oily fish (sardines, mackerel) on there. I want to like it, really I do, but I can only eat mackerel in pate or risotto, neither of which are particularly healthy. Anyone got any ideas for making good-oil-fish exciting?
In fact we should make it a challenge to make our Yuck foods into Yum. Where there is a good cook and good fresh produce (and maybe a will) here has to be a way.

I daresay you could use a long strip of beef jerky for a fanbelt too…
MizFit says
December 5, 2008 at 11:42 amanything can be solved if you just apply a few strips of beef jerky…
And there’s your yuck to yum, TA!

December 5, 2008 at 2:27 pmWell you said silly so here’s some silly for you. For some unknown reason this came to mind so I went with it.
My Dr. Suess rework I thought up:
I am Dave
Dave I am
That Dave I am!
That Dave I am!
I do not like that Dave I am!
Do you like green leaves and clams?
I do not like them, Dave I am.
I do not like green leaves and clams.
Would you like them here or there?
I would not like them here or there.
I would not like them anywhere.
I do not like green leaves and clams.
I do not like them, Dave I am.
Would you like them in a salad?
Would you like them with a mallet?
I do not like them in a salad.
I do not like them with a mallet.
I do not like them here or there.
I do not like them anywhere.
I do not like green leaves and clams.
I do not like them Dave I am.
….
So there you have it Dawn’s very bad take on Dr. Suess. I would like to note that I’m sure I would like Dave very much so no offense Dave *grin*.

Seriously, I love books that make me excited about eating healthy food. If I don’t win this, I’ll buy it.
Food I wish could be on the list: whole milk dairy products like cheese and ice cream. I am still waiting for the study that reassures me they are healthier than the skim.

Honestly just his sig would be good form me….Unless he has any words of wisdom that aren’t already in the book.
He could write…,
….,
hum,…“anotherInscriptionIseemnottobeabletothinkof”
Another side note from yesterdays post. Today I was not only thankful for my hot shower, but the shampoo. Might sound weird but it smells great and does a good job, and I’m grateful to have it =) Krystal

December 6, 2008 at 8:53 amWhat a great book – can’t wait to read more about it…
I wish, wish, wish, that pizza was on there, and one thing that doesn’t appeal to me is fish – of any kind. I’ve tried to like it, but it’s the smell, I jsut can’t get over it.
And for the inscription that I’d love…
Dear fabulous Jessica….
