Before we head into my ode of I FEEL SEXY! love to the Cellini shoes—I need to stop & wish the Husband a happy birthday.

Actually, it’s less stopping before we start and more oooh Im so excited to show him Ive gots my sexy back —but Im getting ahead of myself.

We’ve chatted about how the child and I ran off for some alone time.

We’ve established Ive not been my usual up-like-a-puppy! self.

As a result, we’ve circuitously established the poor husband hath been neglected recently.

(although we did go OVER THE TOP with his birthday gift so there’s that.  Keep an eye on Instagram for details.)

But Im getting ahead of myself.

Again.

To know me is to know I have a close personal relationship with my UPS man (translation: he thinks Im insane.  yes. I mean the new OAKtown one, too.).

The other day he dropped by toting a box from TSUBO.

I was aware the box contained Cellini wedges  as Id chosen them to review 100% because the Tornado adores (fingerquote) fancy (unFQ) shoes.

She loves nothing more than my wearing heels as then, by her definition, I appear more ‘princess like’ (hold me).

She immediately ripped open the box & yanked the shoes from their cardboard home.

We were both smitten & speechless.

They were fancier than she’d anticipated (I think she’d expected sneakers?) and even more stylin’ than Id thought from the catalog photo.

We stared at them for a while.

simply stunning.

It was, in fact, the Tornado who broke the silence with a clear and loud:

MAMA CAN I TRY THEM ON?

I let her try them first. I rock that way.  And then I yanked them off *her* and placed them gently on my feet.

And fell in love.

seriously there are no words.

They were comfy.

They were easy for this awkward woman to walk in.

The Cellini shoes–paired with cheap ass old navy brand skinny jeans fancy denim–immediately changed how I carried myself.

At the child’s request I wore the Cellinis the rest of the afternoon.

I wore them during homework-time.

I wore them while I made dinner.

I wore them while I blogged.

I did, however, remove them *before* the Husband came home and hid them in my closet

Way in the back where normally only the Crocs and Dr Scholls (remember them?) reside.

Im yanking them out tonight in honor of his birthday.

I shall thank you from him in advance for bringing my fancy—and sexy—back.

Sometimes.  Many times.  A shoe is far far more than merely a covering for the feet.

These wedges are definitely that.

Ive gots my sexy back.

  5. That particular show isn’t *me*, but I love that you love them. I have a pair of Tsubo boots and they’re amazing. They are a little more expensive than I normally would have spent, but they’ve lasted me through 3 winters now (and going strong), and they are SO COMFORTABLE.

  16. Get that sexy back! I read a post from a friend going through the loss of her husband and she said that on days she feels really down she makes sure to dress very nice. That lifts her spirits. Further proof that the right pair of shoes really can change everything!

  20. I.Love.Shoes. As silly as it might sound, they can make you feel a certain way, carry yourself differently. I’m really short so I love heels to make me feel taller. Then you have your workout shoes that can make you feel like a sexy badass. Even flipflops have their place! And happy birthday to the hubby!

  33. Heels always boost your mood and self-esteem (and ass)! There’s nothing I love more than strutting around in a new pair of heels, I just bought some new wedges from Dolce Vita and they are surprisingly super comfy for their 5.5 inch height, as a result I’m delighted and invigorated! Enjoy your new shoes 🙂

  38. I am not a shoe person. I usually am either barefoot, in running shoes, or flip flops, but I seriously adore those shoes.

  44. LOVE the ahoes. I have never heard of this shoe line and apparently no one in Ohio has either since the closets store that carries them is in Canada. LOL
    Cost is a little high but, oh my, sexy wearable shoes with my cheap ass Old Navy skinnies..

  46. HA! Your disclosure is classic.
    And I too, am super awkward in heels. Husband really likes me in them, though. Probably because he’s 6’5, and I’m 5’6. It gets us a little closer when I’m in heels… though I’ll never wear foot tall heels, so I’ll never be his height 😉
    So these are comfy? Even for those of us who wear flip-flops and sneakers 99% of the time?

  47. Oh, I absolutely love those shoes. A little concerned with that type of heel. For me, the narrow bottom is a little tippy, but they’re soooo sexy I’ll just get over it.

  50. Those look like the most comfortable wedges I have ever seen. I absolutely adore them! Lucky you! I use to love trying on my grandma’s “fancy” shoes when I was little. I loved the sound of the clicking on the tiles of her foyer. To this day I still love this sound but I get a little self conscious of it when it is dead silent and I feel like my heels are as loud as a fire alarm. For this reason, I actually prefer wedges. I feel more stable in them and they are always more comfortable. Plus, there is a much higher guarantee that you can walk across bricks and not face plant. Nothing like getting your heel stuck, eh?
