Happy FRIDAY!
This week Im starting off with the freebie (cue cheers of the skimming crowd as it dawns upon them they need not read any further).
Surlyramics won me over with her fabulous name, her awesome tagline (Some people treat their body like a temple…treat yours like an art gallery!) and her AMAZING jewelry.
No matter your sex, tastes (hello skulls!), or career path there’s something there for you.
(Ill letcha guess which one I have)
For the low low price of a comment below you can be registered to win a free somethin’ Surly in the color of your choice. MizFit also dares you to check out her Etsy store and not leave with a purchase or three.
Ok, ONWARD TO THE LINKAGE.
Now, as with writing about the scale last week, I give you this one with all fear knowledge that some of the Bumbling Band may play around with this site and think:
I look great! Someone summon Dr. 90201 STAT!
Please to play around with, giggle, realize how fantabulous you already are, and move on. Lets view this as a workday waster game, People. Im not trying to tell you anything 🙂
I AM telling you something with this next one. MizFit? She always needs to pee. Whether it’s Propel (*wink*) or plan ole water Im constantly in a state of super saturation.
Now all of our states/cities aren’t in there (yet! I have a dream…) but if yours is—please to enjoy.
Im fascinated by this next link because I do own an ipod and I DONT use it enough (come to think of it I fear Ive lost it in our recent move—but that’s a lament for Renaissance Man and not for you.).
(If I can ever locate it) I now have seventy five different ideas for ways I can use that NOT inexpensive little rectangle.
Linklastly, a piece I really like from a site we all adore: The World’s Healthiest Foods. Ive beaten to death the notion that Ive chosen to avoid processed white whenever possible because of the link between it & macular degeneration.
It’s a tenuous link—but I HEART my eyeballs so Ive decided not to take any chances given my genetics.
As a result, this post on foods which are best for vision health was a PRINT and SAVE for me.
OK.
I know you want at that freebie—–so get surly & comment away.

May 16, 2008 at 3:57 amahhhhh i LOOOOOOOVE the world’s healthiest foods site… how awesome is that 😉 everytime i eat a new food i look it up on that site to see what favor i’m doing for my body!
and kudos to you for the “pee” site, since im always downing water (i carry a 32oz “emergency” water bottle w/ me at all times), this is pretty handy!
i love her tagline… i try to think “remember how this food will make you feel later”… as in will it energize you (healthy, clean foods), or will it drag you down (overprocessed, sweets)…
happy friday!!!

May 16, 2008 at 4:25 amThank you for the MizPee link–no relation, really?
I too seem to be in a constant state of bladder saturation, and am always on the lookout for facilities. Will have to check out the other links too, a great list!

May 16, 2008 at 4:53 amThanks for the ipod link, especially. They had a few for iphones, too, and it’s about time I used it for more than checking email. 🙂
Happy Weekend!

May 16, 2008 at 5:04 amI have The World’s Healthiest Foods book and never even realized there was website too. How did I miss that?!
Wow, there is some great jewelry there. I’m sure I’ll spend too much time on that site…

May 16, 2008 at 5:14 amI’m still trying to figure out what a RAID array made out of Ipod shuffles is. Is that like a big trap for cockroaches? Ewwwww!
I adore the Surlyamics pendants! I’m scared to let my daughters visit the site – I know we’ll be spending some money there.
Nita says
May 16, 2008 at 5:17 amOMG! Did you see how to use your Ipod as a Oija board?!?! That about made me pee!

May 16, 2008 at 5:23 amGlad to see you all love the links that *I* love….I’m a quirky one so I’m never certain.
And jeff? LOVE HOW YOU PHRASED IT about the glimpse in the mirror.
(Welcome to the MizFits!)

May 16, 2008 at 5:47 amI’ll have to spend more time on those links later, but the Mizpee site just cracks me up! It’s a fantastic idea, but funny.

May 16, 2008 at 5:50 amLOVE surlyramics – you & I might have differing opinions about food but we def. make up our differences with our lil’ punk-jewelry loving hearts. The healthiest foods page was interesting too. I’ll have to spend more time with that one before I can come up with an opinion.
MizFit says
May 16, 2008 at 5:50 amThanks Gena.
I like to keep it in the family (,Cranky,) and MizPee is my second cousin.
(really?! no, not really.)

May 16, 2008 at 6:27 amNow if only MizPee would extend her coverage to Canada…though, to be honest, I’ve mapped out a lot of the decent public restrooms in my area. Love the surly-ramics site!

My eyes can definitely use some help, thanks for the links!!

May 16, 2008 at 6:42 amI think I am going to really look at that WHfood site before I do my weekly grocery shopping on Sunday- I am finally getting into my head that I need to eat food for overall GOOD HEALTH rather than eating foods that are only low in points (WW) and eating just to loose weight (ie. Smart Ones Frozen meals – they are not even good, but they are quick and easy and only * points). Thank you MizFit!
The Bag Lady says
May 16, 2008 at 6:49 amThe Bag Lady was totally fascinated with the uplifting facial site. She almost (because she was hypnotized by the flicking back and forth between before and after) put her own photo in there, but realized in time that she already looked better than the after in the display…
okay, done babbling and lying and really must have been hypnotized – I feel dizzy, need to lie down….
Cecilia says
May 16, 2008 at 6:55 amMizFit… you constantly talk about your JERKY (I love it too. Have you had Rosie’s Vermont Jerky? Might be a VT thing). I have to ask… where do you buy your beef jerky? I have trouble finding it outside of gas stations!
Thanks!
Cecilia
MizFit says
May 16, 2008 at 7:03 amCecilia? I get it here. yes. youre reading that right. I order from the COMPANY in bulk.
it isnt cheaper—but I figured since I tend to consume in bulk I may as well 🙂
I have trouble finding it around here anyway (7/11 is where Chipper Jerky is most often carried) and Im ALL ABOUT that particular brand.

May 16, 2008 at 8:56 amAwesomeness!!! I’m going to see if I can follow the instructions to turn my clunky old iPod into a storage device. Cool idea and a good way to put it to use since I only use my smaller iPod at the gym and the older one has just been collecting dust on my desk.

May 16, 2008 at 9:03 amLove, love, love Surly. Although I’m not a black cord wearing woman, I am purchasing the Surly Knit piece and turning it into a zipper-pull for my Amy Butler knitting bag!

May 16, 2008 at 10:23 amWorld’s Healthiest Foods is my new favorite site! I got a recipe from there that I used (and gave it a little Jay twist) that may be the next Tasty Tuesday post.
I did not know the link between processed food and macular degeneration! I, too, heart my eyeballs!
Time to take my last undergraduate final…wish me luck! 🙂

May 16, 2008 at 10:26 amThank you for the link about healthy foods for eyes. My mom has glaucoma. She is taking 5 eye drops a day and it still isn’t bringing the pressure down. She might have to go through eye surgery.
I don’t have good hearing, so sight is a very important thing to me… I rely on my vision more so because of my bad hearing…

May 16, 2008 at 11:32 amMy great-grandmother and grandmother both suffered from macular degeneration! Holy crap! I never knew about the link between white foods/processed foods and the disease. Good to know – luckily, I don’t eat too many white foods so it should be easy to toss the rest aside and I’ve cut down greatly on the processed stuff as well.
Love the jewelry – so pretty!

May 16, 2008 at 4:45 pmI always need to pee, and i try sometimes to really not drink too much, but also not to little that i get dehydrated! but i have a teeny blatter i guess so thanks for that!! i loved how on that ipod site, one person commented “whats an ipod”. my dad gave me one for my birthday and i told him he can use it, so its basically his now (what a waste of a gift oppertunity!). I dont crave access to media 24/7, besides, as a chef with water and hot oil everywhere, recipe cards are a lot safer!

May 16, 2008 at 5:01 pmLove that line about treating your body like an art gallery. The creative in me is in glee. That lift magic site was freaky yet entertaining. I’m going to post my before/after results next week for “entertainment purposes only.”…wee!!!

May 17, 2008 at 3:30 pmDudettes, anyone who knows what a RAID array is really needs to pee more…LOL Just kidding all you awesome geek girls… I am afraid to death of my ipod. It’s SO tiny. I need to get it some big holder with a carabiner. Went to the facelift site, had fun. Had enough surgery though…I’ll age gratefully. Does Surly have jewelry for chick who sits on her butt on her couch and works on her website???
