Happy Almost Long Weekend Time to MizFit’s American readers ( I reside permanently in the Land of Delusion where not only do I have a book deal & a tv show but a bazillion readers from a multitude of countries)!
In the longloungingweekend-vein I give you something the English Lit major geek in me *totally* desires: Voila.
(I dont know that much more needs to be said. Welcom to Nerdville. Population? Moi.)
This next link made me hearken back to this viewer mail where the emailer lamented a windowless office. If I had a million dollars Id buy all of us the Luminous Virtual WindowsTM
Windowless office or *not* those things (and the sky-ceilings) are pretty darn cool (and the view is far better than what I really see out my (fingerquote) office (unFQ) window).
Since we *are* supposed to be all about health and wellness up in herre—I give you this link. While I always enjoy Dumb Little Man I really enjoyed all the health tips which take ten minutes or less.
Life is for being healthy, sure, but also for living. I think most of us do the majority of these but the list is worth a read (and dont forget if you do number twenty four HERE you have a chance to win a fantabulous freebie and, according to DLM, are adding to your healthy lifestyle).
These last two are random linkage. Even for me. No fitness (unless this first one helps to diminish clutter around the house somehow and then that’s kindasorta house fitness!) and no health (unless you think wearing makeup brightens you up and makes you look more HEALTHY?)
This? Has made the MizFit really consider buying a gun (click on link to see what kind).
This? ALMOST but not quite got the MizFit to purchase some (cue ominous music) make-up to apply horribly (dont panic. she passed.).
and now our freebie.
A generous give away from a site I love (whats not to love about an online mag which describes itself as a web magazine for the adventurer in all of us (not necessarily the gym goer) whose readers are, according to them (and I like to think I fit the bill) people who have reached a time in their lives when they have the means, passion, health, and experience to enjoy what life has to offer. They love challenges, appreciate quality, and pursue excellence.
(well, except the (fingerquote) means (unFQ) part, but that’s coming Renaissance Man! One of these days a manuscript or invention will take off.)
Now, it doesnt take a long time reader to guess that I also love the name LIFT MAGAZINE.
This week’s freebie is a LIFT tee. A shirt with one word (is it MizFit’s favorite word? who can say) to serve as a reminder.
From me. From your bones. From your metabolism. From Lift-Mag.
Comment away.

May 23, 2008 at 4:13 amIt is so soa sad that a portion of my coming holiday weekend will be dedicated to sock sorting. Still, I’m not shooting all the little gems. 🙂
Love the Sephora link. I’m adding that hazy eye pallette to my reward list! Now I just have to go, you know, DO something.
Have a great weekend!

May 23, 2008 at 4:32 amYawwwwn, scratch scratch scratch…
Ever wake up three days in a row thinking it’s Friday? It’s like that up here in Wisconsin.
I like those geeky chairs as well. The titles are a little limited for me – I teach English, and I’d want MY favorite book title on there. And that tag gun? Someone was thinking. My kiddo can never find matching sox; somedays he can’t find sox, period. At least they’d be lost in pairs.
Got my Mizfit inspiration bracelet yesterday. My son wants it – HA! No go on that one. Mine! Alllll mine.
Thanks!

May 23, 2008 at 4:56 amHell, you have too many great links and I’m supposed to be off for a run!
We have a basement that could totally use those fake windows.
And I hadn’t heard of LIFT and it looks great! I got distracted with blueberry juice and turbocharged pogo sticks. However, I have to agree I’m not sure I want the word LIFT printed right over my middle-aged boobs.
Must go for run, must go for run…

May 23, 2008 at 4:59 amYesterday was Friday over here… I don’t know what today is.
I have a windowless office, and let me tell you… I don’t like it. But I do have my own office (more like a mid-sized closet), so I guess it’s a compromise. I DO want to get some plants that can survive on low light and will clean the air a bit. Construction workers are repainting all the walls, and the paint smell is quite noticeable – ugh! I don’t really like the thought of breathing that all day.
I can’t help giggling like a silly, little girl over the Lift t-shirt. I’m like Fitarella; would folks read it and think I need a lift… or that I already got one? Hmmmm…. me thinks neither!

May 23, 2008 at 5:03 amOk, I loved the LIFT t-shirt until I read the comments… At my age I’m sure people would be thinking about my boobs, not weights!

May 23, 2008 at 5:04 amI was so excited for a minute that the makeup was going to be semi-permanent tattoos. Can’t commit to one design for a lifetime.
LOL about the Lift tee Fitarella. Ranks right up there with “Guess”!
While those chairs are spiffy, I don’t see a footrest or a drinkholder…
Everyone have a fabulous weekend! I will be cooking like a maniac as my friend is going to Texas and leaving me with her 3 children.

May 23, 2008 at 5:25 amI don’t think I have the means for Lift yet. Maybe once we get six kids through college, the four girls through weddings, and whatever else pops up along the way. Until then the “means” just go right into clothes and activities and other stuff to make life fun.

May 23, 2008 at 6:44 amI need some separation along with the lift 🙂

May 23, 2008 at 6:50 amI love the windows and the chairs!! I too read that post about the gun and I got really excited about getting one…until I realized I had absolutely no use for it. I can definitely get some use out of a LIFT shirt though! (#24, check!)

May 23, 2008 at 7:01 amwith my bum foot, i could use a reminder to LIFT!
and I love the list from DLM—i am going to print it out and post in my house. (and send to friends!)
have a great weekend!

May 23, 2008 at 7:02 amEven though Fitarella dampened my excitement about the LIFT the shirt a bit (kidding!) I still want one.

May 23, 2008 at 7:41 amThat gun could also be used to defend your home. What criminal wants a $1.99 tag through his ear. It’s embarrassing AND painful.

May 23, 2008 at 7:47 amIf you were going for make up I would peg you more for the bare essentials minerals (meaning barely there) than the Kat Von D (meaning quite THERE). Glad you skipped it…can’t quite picture our MizFit heavily made up.
And the price gun to pair your socks? Wow, that could be the beginning of a slippery slope to some diagnosable disorders.

May 23, 2008 at 7:53 amYayyy for a three day weekend! Those fake windows are awesome! I love the 50 ideas article as well! Thanks for all that you do!

May 23, 2008 at 8:02 amHello! Thanks for visiting my blog. I’ve lurked here off and on.. I need to update my list. ANYWAY… I need some advice. I tried to look for an email for you.. No luck.. I could still be sleeping though. As you may know, I’ve been running 4-5 days a week, with 4 runs being over 5 miles each. The 5th run varies depending on my time. I am perplexed at the rate that my belly is GROWING! yes.. growing outward. I almost look like I’m pregnant.. Trust me.. There is no possible way for that to be as nobody has seen the inside of my bedroom in way more than a year. Please please any insight would help. Thanks!

May 23, 2008 at 8:18 amUmn, absolutely love the chairs. One thinks they maybecould have made them more customizable… Like the list, glad I’m doing most of them. I love, love, love the graphics for “LIFT” so i’m down for a shirt and dont much care what people think about my chest.

May 23, 2008 at 8:25 amI can’t decide which virtual window I want, so I suppose it shall just have to wait . . . has nothing to do with my total lack of money right now. 🙂
Love all the links, must have the t-shirt (and people can look at my chest all they want, whether they like it or not).
Too da loo– off to run (well, jogging is probably the technically term, but it’s such a silly term. I prefer run, so that’s what I go with).

May 23, 2008 at 8:26 amNitmos – you totally cracked me up!! Can see the headline: “Criminal Charges Homeowner with Assault with a Deadly Price-tagger!” (“I tell ya, I’m worth more than $1.99 – the shame of it all…”)
Love the chairs!!

May 23, 2008 at 8:41 amLast weekend was our long weekend- sure could do with another one though!
I LOVE the book chairs (that’s the english major in me, too). If I could pull off that make up I’d totally get it (but it’s not QUITE “me”).
Thanks for the super links for the 50 ideas and for that magazine- my magazine knowledge is getting so much more expanded from your blog!

May 23, 2008 at 9:33 amI totally need one of those luminous windows! I just got moved to a new office, and it’s a dark, dungeony room with really poor lighting. I wants, I wants!

May 23, 2008 at 9:40 amI know a lot of guys would like the windows in this basement they have to work in here.
I love the makeup and will be ordering some of that.
Can’t justify the price of the chair to the hubby.
But the magazine looks awesome and will be checking that out. I want that pogo stick!
Have a great weekend everyone

May 23, 2008 at 10:33 amI love how intensely the commenters on the ‘price tag gun for organizing socks’ post argued. It’s good to be passionate about something!

May 23, 2008 at 6:22 pmAnother English major. I knew there was a reason I liked you!
I’m stealing that link to Dumb Little Man (and acknowledging that I got it from you…). Love her ideas and added a few of my own, like: say hello to a stranger.
And I covet the Lift t-shirt. It would become my new workout shirt. (hey, 3 guys have kind of flirted me this week! That shirt would give them ideas…)

May 24, 2008 at 12:45 amI’m not sure about the chairs, but I love the Luminous Windows. I used to work in a basement office and those skylights would have been totally sleep (especially when I took my little lie-down breaks on the office couch).
Dumb Little Man’s list is good, even if I do think Twitter is a waste of time. I mean, how inspirational are quotes, REALLY?
