(I didnt mean quirky–
More *rhythm*. You’ll see.
Sometimes these are best
when read ALOUD by ME.)
It’s not cold here now.
In the SLIGHTEST I mean.
Yet that hasnt stopped me
From thinking Halloween.
The heat? unrelenting.
near 100 I think.
makes one CREATIVE
Big weekend plans here.
Of the intellectual kind.

Maybe some snacks
(I did these. they RULE!)
Havent found these yet–

You guys make me laugh

That’s all for now.
It’s time to be still.
Meditate. Self-reflect.
Use this time how you will.
*please to note the neither deft nor too clear utilization of poetry sarcasm here. thank you.
Awww… I puja you too Mizfit :-).
Great link to the stink deterrent… I’m going to have to give that shizz a tryizzle!
Awesome…I like the m & ms! Very fun! Have a great weekend! Do something for you and Tornado Toddler! 🙂
That ProCon website is pretty freakin’ cool.
Don’t know so much about the homemade deoderant – seems like it could be greasy and stainey.
I gotta go with Christine on the deodorant thing, but I love that site! I found 12 rules of etiquette from the 1950s which I will print for my children. They will probably just laugh, but here’s hoping…
Are you bracing for the storm?
Friday and I’m Free at Last! I think. I hope. Probably not…
Michael’s sells some edible writer pens – not sure if they are the same brand. My girls really had fun making cookies and writing on them for Valentines Day one year. The ink didn’t come out of them real easily though – you had to keep going over what you wrote/drew.
alas I’m prolly with christine too——but think in this raging heat I may try it anyway.
And wander the ATX with nonsticky but slick&STICKY Pits.
(Although IKE *is* bringing a cold front up in herre. 98 today and waitforit 88 tomorrow)
And yep.
I’m bracing.
Which, in my case since I’m always Tornado Tense, means I simply need to tighten the lats a tad and I’m fully on high alert.
Miz
I’m digging the poetry. I count it as my literary enlightenment for the day. Off to the non-literary world of science!
thanks gena.
I keep thinking I’ll do a friday of ME READING and the Ren Man prancing across midline carrying a placard with the link scrawled across.
Like he’s one of the girls (women? what are they called/what’s the proper term?) from the WWE.
Perhaps when he gits his MANSKIRT workoutkilt to testdrive he’ll agree….
M.
Halloween! You guys go crazy for it over there! I love it SO much, at university I would throw a Halloween party every year for my birthday and then leave the decorations up for the rest of the year.
Excited now – because I know there will be spooky themed socks hitting the shops aaaany day now.
Anyone for pumpkin pie?
TA x
nah on the pie.
YES on the pumpkin-shaped candy corn (*drool* HEART the corn).
And **YES** on the skull emblazoned OverTheKnee socks.
Coming soon on a Texan near you…
Miz.
Loving the CD barbell. That’s what I call recycling!
I think you could totally make the Friday poetry into some slamming hip hop. Then we could all workout to your beat!
Thanks for the procon link — that is super!
Please do not encourage her, Felice.
She’ll do it.
You should hear her rapping around the house.
Renaissance Man
LOVE the poem!
Love the pro con website- and those m&ms are very cool.
Is every Friday poetry day? If so that’s awesome!
Thanks to Felice, I went back and reread the whole thing rapping it to myself and bursting into fits of giggles. Because I’m completely normal. So my Friday-morning-at-work-trajectory has been: 1) procon.com (nodding and mmmhmming as appropriate) …2) golden light meditation… 3) drowsiness … 4) wake-up rap. Things keep getting better and better!
I would love to know how many are brave enough (bored enough?) to try out the homemade deodorant? I’d love it if your readers tried it out and gave you their reviews.
And–loved the poem. The Halloween link didn’t give me anything, or so I think, relevant to that day. Am I missing something?
Okay, I just lost a lot of time on that pro/con site!! But in the Internet sense of time, at least I feel more educated. And scared for our country. And educated. Hmmm.
And it never even occured to me to make my own deodorant. It doesn’t look cheaper though. Craft time?
Manuela?
My Tornado insisted on being a girly skull for Halloween this year (what’s that you ask? I’ve nary a clue).
So I did tutu and leggings w/skulls and, while I was there, snagged her a skull print skirt just because 😉
But for the the masses it’s prolly a COOL CLOTHING link…
M
Multi-talented woman! All this and poetry too.. fun stuff. 🙂
I’d try the deodorant thing, if my first thought upon reading it wasn’t “BK will totally think it’s some kind of snack and try it with crackers”.
Tricia2? That would be bad *and* you’d then be forced to rename your blog The Great Homemade Deodorant Eating Experiment.
And that’s such a long name….
M.
I have a feeling I’m going to be spending a fair amount of time on the pro-con site. Thanks for all the links.
gonna work on the meditating and self-reflecting stuff this weekend. I think my body needs a break…..I can’t believe someone was motivated enough to make the dumbells….woo hoo! We are in for a soaky next couple of days so whatever we do it will be indoors. The Halloween link got me thinking…..some cute costumes for the kids? My mom is an awesome seamstress 😉 and she’s retired now so I may hit her up over some green tea.
As always……..your rhyming is just too cute 🙂 Have a great weekend. My mom and I are off to the boy’s school this morning for lunch and a grandparent’s day program. I’ll take pics and post about it later on today. Poor grandpa is sick 🙁
Link Love is the best! Love em chica!
Love poetry day.
It’s finally cooling off here and I am hoping for some rain. Our lawn needs it badly…
Love the poetry as always!
i forgot my bongos. let me go get them and then and ill read it again. i dont think i got the full effect that first time
http://www.groundedfitness.com
thanks for the link to my tutus and stuff on etsy! you rock! will be adding some more halloweeny skirts and leg warmers today. BOO!
love the procon site………will lose some serious time on there.
and this…”This meditation can cause drowsiness, so do not do it while driving a motor vehicle or when undertaking any task requiring concentration.”…do people really meditate while driving???……….scary!
Did anybody say if that deoderant actually worked? Kept you smelling sweet all day.
Loved the zen link- Do you puja yourself. Very cool. going back to read more.
i can’t wait for halloween – I want to dress up as Serena Van Der Woodsen and am begging Dan to dress as, well, Dan. I also get to buy my 10-day-old niece her first Halloween costume! I’m thinking monkey, banana or air freshener. Seriously. http://www.anytimecostumes.com/ecommerce/control/product/~product_id=02184152 what do you think?
OMG I LOVE THE AIRFRESHENER.
and you can skip the carseat as well and just hang her pretty rump from your mirror as you drive around on halloween day.
loved the wonderbread as well.
a lot.
(and yes mamaruns. the more the TT screams in her carseat I WANT OUUUUUT the more this MamaMizFit meditates whilst driving)
M.
My favorite was the art of self love website. Duly noted. Will try. After these essays are graded.
Find any cool and funky monster costumes out there? Because my toddler is now telling anyone who will listen that he’s going to be a monster for Halloween. Good thing I didn’t order that pirate costume last week . . .
(and the Halloween skirts and leg warmers are so cute–too bad I just have my darling boy to dress up!)
I’ve been trying to find an occasion to get those personalized M&M’s… Is Friday occasion enough?
That CD dumbell is awesomosity! I’m going to be a match for Halloween, mostly so I have an excuse to dye my hair 🙂
You’re a woman of many talents, Miz Fit. 🙂
You are so creative! I am going now to waste too much of my morning creating some MnMs. Very, very cool! have a great weekend everyone! 🙂
the m&ms are so fun—-I’ll just warn you that they aren’t as ‘crisp & clear’ a photo as they appear on site
(or perhaps I’m the only one who expected that the Toddler Tornado’s face plastered on a candyshell would be clear & uberinfocus).
And the hair dye, mallory?
Can’t wait for the picture (hint hint) I need to go back to my natural color of purple at some point here soon….
M.
Thinking of you and hoping Ike doesn’t wreak too much havoc. Be safe!
Love the links btw…’Specially the meditation. And this thumbtyping thing is haed!
Ouh… personalized M&Ms for a baby announcement maybe? Hmmm… And Yum!!
I live for your links! I love the dumbbells! And pro-con?! How great is that!? Not so sure about the homemade deodorant…. :-/
Thanks! We actually discussed the pro/con issue of Euthenasia in class yesterday. I think I’ll have to use some of this stuff on Tuesday when we meet again.
Good timing.
Ike better wait for my long run to be over. I’ll punch him in the face.
That was beautiful!
Where do you find all this stuff??? LOVE the CD barbell. Hey, you’re good at using household items as exercise equipment–maybe YOU can figure out a way to make a barbell with old cassette tapes?? (Wait, aren’t ALL cassette tapes old now?)
seriously…can i do the air freshener? Other readers? Is that a super cute costume or am I deluding myself? This will be baby’s FIRST ever Halloween get-up.
mizfit linked to this danny seo’s site last friday for the dumbbells. you could probably do the same thing with cassette tapes using two of those rods. the only problem … they’d be a bit harder to grasp.
maybe melt them down into a giant plastic blob and make your own kettlebell?
i don’t know.
to tokaiangel – i <3 pumpkin pie. and candy corn. i’m already breaking into the candy corn. i can’t help it – it’s my one and only candy weakness. i justify it saying that i can only eat it one season of the year (fall). brach’s is the bomb.
and thanks for the link love, mizfit! that cd dumbbell/barbell was surprisingly easy to make. the worst part was twisting the stupid nuts onto the rod.
How do you fit so much TALENT in that little (yet tough) body of yours??? Seriously… you make writing seem so easy! Love this post!
1. I’m spending waaayyy too much time at the pro/con site.
G. You haven’t lived until you’ve had candy corn mixed with spanish peanuts. OMG YUM.
62. I’ve got kitties, but no kiddies. I tried to dress them up one Halloween. Let’s just say it didn’t go very well…I’ve still got scars.
Already checking out Halloween costumes here, too. Gotta get em while they still have plenty of sizes available.
Always enjoy your poetry. Hope the hurricane isn’t too nasty in your area. The heat? Oy. It’s only in the mid 80s today but humid as hades and I was used to the 70s already. Bummer.
LOVE candy corn. I’m the only one in our family who does, so I always get the little packets handed out at trick ‘r treat time.
Would candy corn be a good long-run fuel?! If jelly beans are, why not? I need to look into that, ASAP.
Hm. I dunno about that deodorant. Though I bet the shea butter would make my pits super-soft. (*snerk* I said “PITS!”)
But I LOVE the pro-con site. I see my day wasting away before my very eyes – but boy will I be set to argue with folks now! LOL
why do I think that someone (t?) is really gonna make a kettle bell out of melted cassettes.
Not me.
I still treasure my michael jackson, devo, dead milkmen, & billy joel too much to melt.
For now anyway.
Until we’re homebound for a few days thanks to Ike.
Then I may reconsider….
M.
i don’t have enough cassettes lying around to try, sadly … i really could use a kettlebell. 😉
This timing could not be better! I just cleaned out storage and found a bunch of old casettes I don’t need. The question is, how brave am I? Will this count as my daily thing I’m afraid of, or is it just stupid and dangerous??? I’ll let y’all know if anything happens.
I normally like making my own products whenever possible, but I’m so happy with my crystal that I probably won’t try this anytime soon.
I read someone else’s blog who made and used homemade deodorant. She said it worked fine to keep the smell away, but didn’t keep the sweat away. Just so ya know! (Of course I can’t find the link now….)
THANK YOU Gena.
Good to know Ill be strolling about the ATX sans-stink but with bigass wet spots under my arms.
duly noted.
Miz.
Very cool. Don’t get me started on M&M’s…………doh!
A blog post in rhyme?
That’s so awesome–sublime!
And the links are quite cool
Mizfit, you rule.
Thanks for putting a smile on my face at the end of a long day.
Wow! What a blog. I am very glad that I found this. I hope to visit often and comment. Great poetry and the links are mind blowing. Took a while though!
I also like the Friday poetry. So multi-talented MizFit is. Etsy is my new favorite place to shop and thanks for the reminder to start planning now for Halloween (wink!)
uh home-made deodorant? bad decision. i used the clincial strength stuff and my armpits still oooze sweat.
that’s gross.
sorry.
deal with it. *ahem*
