As I get older I begin to realize more & more the power of prayer.
That so often, when it feels as though we are powerless to DO anything, simply praying for strength & peace for others can at least let them know they are not alone.
Yesterday I wrote about the community I found at BlogHer.
Today I look to that community to give back.
Jen, who is always there for us cheering us onward when we think we cant go a step further, has experienced a shocking loss.
I ask you to pray for her, to keep her family in your thoughts, and to let her know (should you feel comfortable) she’s not alone.
I just read the news and headed to her blog to offer a few words of comfort. Thanks, Miz, for letting us know. This is very sad.
wow.
Thanks for letting us know.
I’m speechless.
Losing a parent is very hard. Even though its been awhile, she is still feeling the pain. Very sad.
This is such a tragedy. I am so sad.
This is so sad. Thank you for passing this on, and it all makes me realize even more just how fleeting life can be…
I said a prayer for Jen and her fighting spirit. Miz, I wish I could do more though.
I think it has only been hours since she lost her mom, right?
Regardless its heartbreaking.
Hold those you love *close.*
That’s a heartbreaker, saddest news I’ve heard in a long time. Thanks for letting us know. Such a tragic thing to happen to such a sweet girl. I too agree in the power of prayer.
I tried to leave a comment on Jen’s blog but couldn’t so I’m leaving one here.
My prayers are with the family.
It’s heartbreaking. You never know what life will bring, so we should live it to the fullest each moment.
My heart aches for Jen and her family.
Oh wow – how devastating! I will keep her and her family in my prayers.
Thanks for letting us know, Carla. What a terrible shock for Jen and her family.
This is just so sad…
Tough one. Prayers sent.
Oh no no no no. That is terrible. Oh Jen. Thanks for telling us, Miz.
How horrible. Absolutely horrible. I am soo very sad for her and her family. Having the chance to say your goodbyes and semi-prepare yourself for a loss could make it easier, but having her taken suddenly must be unbearable. Devastating.
It is nice to see the blogging community reaching out to her. My heart weeps for her.
email me (mizfit08@yahoo.com) or leave a comment here and I can email you if you want to mail Jen a card/send flowers.
I can send you her mailing address.
Thank you MizFit for being such a connector and letting us know. You truly live in the spirit of sisterhood.
I was happy to keep it going & left a comment on her blog. She and her family are in my thoughts today. A gentle reminder to enjoy every minute of every day with our loved ones — and also that no matter what happens in life, we are not alone. There is always support, friendship and sisterhood around. Just reach out and you will find it.
Thank you MizFit for helping Jen do that.
Having lost both parents & one suddenly, the other 6 months after cancer diagnosis, I so feel for her. I was at her blog & already left a note. Tragic…. life is so short!
Thanks for the news. It’s nice to be able to offer something when terrible things happen to people.
I’ve been praying for her off and on all day… you are right that prayer is powerful, thanks for the reminder!
I can’t imagine. My mom’s my best girlfriend too. Can pray, though. Definitely.
Thankfully, this came at a time when I was visiting with my family, so I can give them all an especially fervent hug.
We tend to take people for granted — and some of us (thinks of her nephew) tend to blow off family reunions. Which is fine until it’s too late, then you end up kicking yourself good and hard.
Some things won’t heal. Hug ’em while you’ve got ’em.
Heartbreaking.
Life can be so random. Prayer and belief in a Loving and Caring Heavely Father are very important to me.
Thanks….there is going to be alot of power going Jenn’s way!
Such a great post! I seem to think that i want to do more than “JUST” pray but prayer is more than anything I could ever do since God is far greater than I. He is the God of mercy and grace and knows what Jen and her family needs more than any of us.
What a sad time for Jen and her family. Beautiful words Miz.
MizFit & other friends: Thank you so much for such a beautiful post and for the simplistic message of the power of prayer. The sudden loss of my mom & best friend will be difficult to overcome but your constant thoughts & prayers has helped and will continue to help.
I really love sending flowers to my loved ones. I specially like sending Tulips and Roses.~:-
