As I get older I begin to realize more & more the power of prayer.
That so often, when it feels as though we are powerless to DO anything, simply praying for strength & peace for others can at least let them know they are not alone.
Yesterday I wrote about the community I found at BlogHer.
Today I look to that community to give back.
Jen, who is always there for us cheering us onward when we think we cant go a step further, has experienced a shocking loss.
I ask you to pray for her, to keep her family in your thoughts, and to let her know (should you feel comfortable) she’s not alone.

August 1, 2009 at 10:44 amHow horrible. Absolutely horrible. I am soo very sad for her and her family. Having the chance to say your goodbyes and semi-prepare yourself for a loss could make it easier, but having her taken suddenly must be unbearable. Devastating.

August 1, 2009 at 12:42 pmThank you MizFit for being such a connector and letting us know. You truly live in the spirit of sisterhood.
I was happy to keep it going & left a comment on her blog. She and her family are in my thoughts today. A gentle reminder to enjoy every minute of every day with our loved ones — and also that no matter what happens in life, we are not alone. There is always support, friendship and sisterhood around. Just reach out and you will find it.
Thank you MizFit for helping Jen do that.

August 2, 2009 at 12:55 amThankfully, this came at a time when I was visiting with my family, so I can give them all an especially fervent hug.
We tend to take people for granted — and some of us (thinks of her nephew) tend to blow off family reunions. Which is fine until it’s too late, then you end up kicking yourself good and hard.
Some things won’t heal. Hug ’em while you’ve got ’em.

August 2, 2009 at 5:29 pmSuch a great post! I seem to think that i want to do more than “JUST” pray but prayer is more than anything I could ever do since God is far greater than I. He is the God of mercy and grace and knows what Jen and her family needs more than any of us.
