Virtual Blogger Talent Show.

Ok, People.

To know me off-blog or on Twitter is to know that my world has been a little tinged with sadness lately.

(This is where I ask, again, if you are the praying sort that you toss one out for my friend today. Please to add in the words healing and courage.)

As a result Ive been looking for ways to add levity into my world.

Things like this as who can feel sad when she’s squishing mud through her fingers?

And then I had another idea.

Something I tossed out in a tweet & just wanted to be sure any nonTweetingPeeps knew about it as well.

(Translation: No pressure to join me—just wanted to be sure you know about my insanity)

A blogger virtual talent show.

Christmas Eve day post.

Anything goes.  No talent too small & no skill too big.

(Again, translation: my skill? all captured in a 10 second video. It’s a stupid human trick if you will…)

Write about it on your blog.

Snap pics of your hidden talent in action and POST on your blog.

Make a video of your little know skill & plop that in a Christmas Eve day entry.

Anything that makes YOU giggle is a successful blog post as that, for me, is the entire goal.

Join me.

Come by on Christmas Eve, view my (fingerquote) talent (unFQ) & laugh at with me, skip through the blogesphere on Xmas Eve and see if everyone left me hanging what other little-know-skills bloggers possess.

Find something ELSE to do that day which makes you giggle and lessens your stressload.

Participate how ever you feel moved…

  6. Busybusy week, but I shall try to come up with something. First, I’ll have to find a “talent.” 🙂

    (Thinking of you and your friend. I went through something similar 4 years ago, and it’s not easy. You’ve done the best thing possible in finding the laughter where you can.)

  11. OMG… this sounds like a perfect time to trot out the nose flute video again… or make a new one. That last one was 100+ lbs ago.

    I can’t think of much else to do that could be photographed or captured in video…

    I’ll have to give this some thought.

  19. Miz, you amaze me more & more! My thoughts are with you, of course & thank goodness for that Tornado who woul dmake anyone laugh & be happy!

    I don’t know how to do the video & post type of thing but I was going to post Xmas eve day & Xmas too so I will figure this out before then! IT is a dear freinds bday too so I will have to mention him!!!

    Miz, again, amazing!

    PS: This time of year is hard for me with both parents gone & family in fighting of sorts that has gone on BUT this is the perfect way to get this off my mind. Think about those that really need our comfort & need some fun!

  30. I’m also very sorry about your sadness. I just last week learned how to use our little Flipcam and iMovie and I am very excited to participate. Although I am not exactly sure what talent to showcase…. hmm.

  32. I just did mine! It was sooo fun. I submitted two and please ignore the first one… it didn’t upload properly. The second one is the real deal.

[…] MizFit suggested that for Christmas Eve the blog community should post our fun special talents.  I actually stayed up last night thinking of any special skills I may have.  Like my special skill of organizing and reorganizing my closets, pantries, desk.  Or my ability to not do any laundry because Hunni does it all (be jealous ladies…he even fluffs and folds).  Or the all so popular talent for talking way to fast to be understood half the time. But the real secret talent I thought of was the fact that I know the words to all the songs on the Simpsons Sing the Blues Tape.  Yes I said tape.  We (my brother and I) begged my dad to buy it for us for the long car trips we would take as a family and then listened to it on repeat over and over and over and over for each trip.  And my brain absorbs any song it listens too (Hence the reason I know the words to songs I hate just as much as songs I love.  Works really well for trivia games.)  So I have the words for such timeless songs such as Deep, Deep Trouble, Do the Bartman, Moanin’ Lisa Blues, and Look at All These Idiots engraved on my brain.  I actually pull it out as a party trick and start singing Deep, Deep Trouble to show off.  Perhaps I should have listened to my New Kids On The Block CD more often.  But I have all those songs memorized too.  That and the 50,000,000 Foreigner and Classic Rock songs my dad made us listen to as a child.
