February 10, 2010 at 2:24 amI love this. I read the 10-10-10 book and it spoke to me. I try think of my decisions in those terms now as much as possible. 10 minutes 10 hours 10 days; 10 days 10 weeks 10 months, 10 weeks, 10 months, 10 years – it’s all the same.
If I could win, I would tell you that I’d use the video camera to capture the way I feel after a good workout, to remind myself that it feels good, so when I forget that and bail on exercise (like I did today), I can see that. Sometimes remembering how I feel 10 minutes after a workout reminds me how good it feels 10 months into a journey and getting fitter and makes me think that in 10 years, maybe I’ll be running with my kids.

February 10, 2010 at 3:42 amAHHHHHH!!!!! I can enter one!!! Woo hoo!!! And it’s such a good one too! Yay!!! Thanks, Miz!
Okay, I could use the camera for a couple of things that would help me on this road to fitness. First, I could maybe start to do a couple of vlog entries (although watching how natural you are in yours is pretty intimidating – eek!) which I would incorporate into my weight loss blog. People would finally see the face behind the photographs of headless bodies, but I could live with that – lol! Second, I could use it to film things that I can do now (or will be able to do in the near future) that I couldn’t do before. I am thinking rock climbing, 5K’s, and one day indoor skydiving. Both of these uses would help me with the 10-10-10 plan because my focus would be fine-tuned with such a tool at my disposal.
Oh, I just thought of one more reason! I could use it to record messages to my future children, who are the main motivating force behind why I wanted to drop all the weight that I have and why I want to continue getting healthier!
Great contest!!!

February 10, 2010 at 3:53 amThanks for all you do MizFit! I would use the camera to do videos of hub and I to share with family as we’re scattered all over the country. I would also use it to document my fitness journey. It’s not original but it would certainly prove the theory that a journey of a thousand miles begins with… theme. I could film my first ten minutes of walking, then training for a 5K, then film my first marathon. Plus, the hubster’s birthday is 10-10-10 and he’ll be 55 (born in 55!).

February 10, 2010 at 4:09 amThis was so easy…especially after today’s talk.
10 minutes: eating a delicous dinner, sitting down, enjoying my food.
10 months: done with two semesters of nursing school, an a fitness and intutive eating routine, on the way to healing my body and hopefully spending the holidays with my family. Developing my faith and adding people in my life who bring me joy.
10 years: travelling/travelled around the world as a nurse or midwife, my own kids strapped to me with African cloth, working with mothers/babies/kids on nutrition and preventative medicine and eating ‘primary food’
excited.
Sagan says
February 10, 2010 at 5:25 am10 minutes: keeping a food journal (healthwritereats.wordpress.com) so that I can plan my meals and have it all laid out before me for healthy eating, plus have my exercise plan all laid out there so I have NO EXCUSES.
10 months: Working daily to improve my writing and editing skills and also getting fitter to make my backcountry hiking plans for the summer that much easier at the time.
10 years: buying my brand new condo so that I have an investment for the future and am not throwing my money away on rent.
I would use vado to document it all: cooking in the kitchen. Hiking in the forest. Throwing classy dinner parties at the condo so that the bloggers can all share in my excitement 😉
I like the 10-10-10 idea; it’s a great combination of the PRESENT with the LONG TERM. And BOTH are equally important to think about when we do (or DON’T do) anything in life.

February 10, 2010 at 5:32 amIn 10 minutes you’d see me walking through the snow out to my garage so I can run for an hour on my treadmill. In 10 months, you’d see me shopping for new clothes because I am at goal! (In between I’d show you all the things I did to get there.) In 10 years you’d see me still at goal and people would be walking up to me saying “60 must be the new 40 because you look fabulous girl!” and you’d also see me preparing for retirement.

February 10, 2010 at 5:40 amGoodness.. I need to think about this
10 minutes: Perhaps, I should keep a realistic “TO DO” list for the day. The first item would read: Do not get on Mizfit or any other cyber-haunts till you finish all “X” work.. do not procrastinate.
I can say 10 months easily: I want to lose 10lbs ( 1lb a month). I don’t know how I allowed to get it on.
10 years: I simply am not the kind of person who can make a plan for 10 years. I am grateful that LIFE is great even though it doesn’t feel that way sometimes. In BROAD TERMS: I wish to SHINE in my career, be able to be involved in small local volunteering efforts, have a small group of friends who care about me, hope my children grow up as GOOD individuals with a strong moral sense, big forgiving heart and be fit enough to be FUNNEST ever grandma! And keep remaining YOUNG..
What would I use the camera for: Defintely record my Yoga sessions when I practice at home and to see what I am doing wrong. And also to have a good laugh. But more importantly, start capturing more of my 10-year old. My husband does have a biggish camcorder type thingi, but it all hooks up only to his computer (which I am not allowed to use as it is his work computer) and I have a Mac and it is all too complicated to keep nagging him about it..

February 10, 2010 at 5:57 amWhat a great giveaway MizFit. I am one of the few people out there who probably would not use the super cool camera but I will think be pondering on the 10:10:10.

February 10, 2010 at 6:10 amLast year the lesson I was taught was that God closes doors for a reason and we cannot simply sit around and wait for doors to open we have to go after them and see if that is where we are meant to be.
This year I am being taught the 10 rule. Just this weekend my Mom reminded me of the 10 year rule….will the fact that my computer crashed yesterday matter in 10 years? Will the fact that I got into a ever-so-minor fender bender this weekend matter in 10 years? No and no.
Will living a healthy lifestyle….fueling my body with healthy food and activity matter in 10 years? Yes and yes.

February 10, 2010 at 6:25 amThat is such an awesome giveaway!
I’m working on my Ph.D. in Chemistry, so that’s something I have to include…
10 min: Me – a Texan – trudging through the blowing snow to get to school so I can do experiments. Trudging through the snow trying to get to the gym. Pretty much, trudging through the snow trying to get ANYwhere – there’s a lot of snow out there!
10 months: About to embark on a whole new facet of life. I’d be done with graduate school, saying goodbye to friends as I move on to the next phase of working, in a real job, student no more. Healthier. Having finished my first 10K, I’d be training for another race – a 10K? half marathon? Doesn’t matter as long as I can run outside, it’s not snowing all the time, and the sun comes out.
10 years: Tenured. Teaching a subject I love, to students who appreciate it and are engaged. Still running, only not alone. Healthy.
I would use the camera to record everything. My dogs. My friends. My family. My new niece. The good times, so that I always remember to smile. The bad times, because they do pass. And everything else, because sometimes, it’s the little things that really matter.
Diana('s Journey) says
February 10, 2010 at 6:40 amThe 10 months and 10 years is easier than the 10 minutes. I think about the future all the time, but how each thing fits my 10 minute goal? Not something I usually think about much! Sadness. I’ll have to think about this some more!
I would use the camera to do vlogs or video journals. It may sound strange, but I learned more about my teaching by watching myself on video than I ever had discussing techniques or getting feedback from others. So, I would use it in that way. To get feedback about how I talk about it, to keep me honest, to encourage heatlheir living!

February 10, 2010 at 6:52 amOk, I REALLY want to win this one! I have been wanting a video camera very badly, but its just not in the $$ cards right now. Before I get to my plan, you are looking fabulous! I so wish I could work out with you, maybe one of these days I will make it down to Texas. You could do a weights session with me and I could teach you Body Attack! Ah- it’d be so much fun!
Anyways, my big goal overall moving into the future is to maintain my level of fitness so that I can be a good role model for both my students (in my group fitness classes), those that I work with in a professional setting, and my future children. I think this is important because my Mom was always really into fitness and eating well and just generally taking care of herself and I adopted these habits as a result. I would love to use the camera to video some segments from my classes to inspire others to get out there and work out! I’d also consider taking it on a run with me to show just how fabulous a run or walk outdoors can be! Ok…have I gone on and on enough?

February 10, 2010 at 7:11 amWhat a cool 10 10 10 concept…
There is a book? Totally need it…
Well 10 minutes? I would say making lunch for my husband
10 months? Back in school
10 years? Successful at my career and enjoying life having successfully beaten(?) my ED
I think that videoing all of this would help me to see where I have come from and maybe that food is not the eemy but merely a stepping stone to where I need to go…
Well anyway this is my goal and what I spent yesterday talking about in therapy (well minus the 10 minute goal – but the go back to school by the end of 2010 and be off of disability by the end of 2011)

February 10, 2010 at 7:23 am10 minutes – I have to remember to focus on the foods that are good for me! Ignore the junk. Focus on healthy.
10 months – In 10 months, my body should be lighter and healthier. Exercise will have become a habit. I won’t have to think so hard about how to get those hours of exercise each week.
10 years – Do I have to think about 10 years from now? I’ll be 52! All the kids will be out of the house. (Well, the youngest two will be in college.) I cannot imagine my life at that point. I’ve been so focused on kids for so long that I will have to have a different mindset!

February 10, 2010 at 7:52 amMiz, I have made it no secret that I would love to go further with my fitness goals in terms of fitness modeling for the “my age” crowd or even to motivate younger people & show them that you can stay fit & healthy as you age. I would love to be able to send videos out to market myself & even put on my blog but I don’t have the camera to do that. MAN, WOULD THIS HELP ME DO THAT!
In 10 minutes I could put a short on my blog. In 10 months, I could have videos out to market myself. In 10 years, I hope I am still alive to make videos! 🙂 A joke about my age!!!

February 10, 2010 at 7:59 amNot sure if it’s within the rules or not, but I will submit on behalf of my husband — who inspires me every day! He quit his job as a registered and LEED-certified architect (a role that took him years to qualify for) because he just.wasn’t.happy.
This is a guy who grew up worrying about money, who has an incredible work ethic, and never puts himself first.
But he took a leap of faith, started a blog to pursue his true passion (http://nighthops.com) and now works harder than EVER, and is happier than ever.
A new video camera has been on his wish list for months, so he can do reviews, how-tos and more on the blog.
So,
**in 10 minutes: he would use the camera to say THANKS to Miz Fit and all the bloggers he emulates. He would lay out his story, talk about why he quit his job, and share his cute self with the world.
**in 10 days: he would have at least 10 how-to videos posted on the site, on everything from beer brewing to the right kind of glass to use to why his breadwinner wife is so awesome. Well, maybe not that one.
**in 10 years: the truth is, camera or no camera, in 10 years I believe with all my heart that he will be living his dream. He will be proud that he took the risk, and will be inspiring others to do the same.
Thanks for the giveaway Miz — you inspire ME every day.

10 years – a successful personal training business in which I train folks online with my amazing videos.
Thanks!

2.I would capture my shrinking self and the things I am now…and as I shrink..the things I am able to do..lunging…squatting..running…jumping…yes the list will continue to grow as the body continues to shrink
Thank you Carla for all the positiveness you bring me on a daily basis!!

February 10, 2010 at 8:42 amYeah take that you stinky ol’ FTC.
Let’s see I think this would be great for first venting…then watching it back to see if this is something that I really want to hold on to…will it really matter in 10 months? Plus do I really want to be that angry person?
Second to then record really wonderful memories. So using it during a race to record how I’m feeling at mile 13 and mile 20 and then at the finish line to remind myself that in a short time feelings can change, but the end is worth the short term pains

February 10, 2010 at 8:43 amHmm, well I think a very important aspect of achieving your goals is to be able to see how far you’ve come. What better way than a video camera to record the daily success of reaching your goals? I would use it as a video diary.
Not just for me, but for my husband and his business, we have an idea of where we want to take his business. In 10 years we see a very bright future, though the path on how to get there isn’t that clear.
My son – well that’s an obvious one to record how he grows and changes, pretty much every day. I don’t want to think about how old he’ll be in 10 years.
For me, not just my journey to getting healthy, though a video camera would be a huge help to see how far I’ve come. 10 years I want to be white water rafting and fit enough to do hiking/biking/camping vacations!
We also hope to be in a house in 10 months and I would love to record the progress/process of getting into the house and fixing it up….I think 10 years from now it would be fun to look back and see what we’ve done to the house, how we’ve grown as a family!

10 years: Acck! I can’t see that far into the future! But I’m fantasizing that crisp hd images of my travels and experiences and new friends could prompt creative endeavors such as writing more novels… a crab can dream, anyway.

February 10, 2010 at 9:32 amWhat a fabulous way to make someone really think and visualize about what they are gonna do to make things happen for themselves!!!
10 minutes: I would totally use that camera to capture my moments post workout. Especially on days that I run huge distances (I’m up to 5 miles!!). I would love to capture the determination in the last couple minutes of the run and then the beautiful feeling of accomplishment that follows crossing that finish line. Seeing myself in that ten minutes and watching it everyday would be so very motivating. I doubt I would ever skip a running workout again!
10 Months: I have so very many goals I want to accomplish between now and december! I want to video tape myself doing the things I need to do in the next ten months to make it happen. I want to video tape me saying no to going out to eat (for both my waistline and my wallet!!) I want to video tape me cooking a fabulous meal that will save me a bundle of money! I want to video tape myself NOT answering those stupid phone calls at 2am with promises of ‘no really, this time I’ll be different’ so I can see myself being strong AND so I can mail the video to him….I want to video tape myself running that half marathon in 4 months. And tons of other little milestones so that in 10 months when I record my 10 month video I look leaner, happier, healthier, and SUCCESSFUL!!!
10 Years: I’m going to make a montage of all the videos from start to finish. Relive my journey with some AWESOME music in the background. And then at the end tape myself 10 years from now, doing the same things right everyday. Respecting myself. Eating right. Working out. Being a good role model. And enjoying the beautiful life I’ve built.
I have so much to do and a whole life to do it in. How amazing would it be to capture that on film!!?!?!?!?!??!!

10 years: Document the amazing journey of my kids, from preschoolers to grown people; hopefully catch my journey to an advanced degree and a hospice-related job along the way.

10 months: I would totally record my son’s first year of being a teenager. He just turned 13 last Saturday and I think this would be an interesting essay on being a teenager. As far as my goals for the next 10 months, I would record losing these last darn 20 pounds!!
10 years: My goal is to be debt free within 10 years, and I would love to record how different my life is now compared to how it could be in 10 years with no debt. Would I be more generous if I didn’t have so much debt? I’d like to think so!

I’ve fallen off the shorter term aspect of the 10-10-10 rules and truly, it’s the short term that builds the long-term success.
in the next 10 minutes I will eat a heatlhy breakfast and cuddle my dogs. (that companionship has been shown to lower blood pressure).
in the next 10 hours I will feed my body all the healthy foods it needs to keep me alive. I will cherish the breaks of sunshine throughout the day. I will move.

February 10, 2010 at 11:07 am10 minutes of planning would make a huge difference and save me lots of trips to the grocery store for 1 or 2 items.
10 months and the meal planning should be a habit and I will find myself with more time to tackle other chores around the house, and of course more time to get out with friends!
10 years and I will still be healthy and fit. I will also get to see how many of the values/actions I have tried to teach my kids stick with them. Eek – they will be in college then. scary!
I would tape my kids swimming with the camera so they could see just how strong they are. I would also email their races to my mom so she could share in the moment. Of course I would also tape all the wonderful family activities we share together. It would be a constant reminder of all that you can do when you are happy, healthy and fit.

February 10, 2010 at 11:48 amI am excited to be entering my first giveaway! Visualizing myself using this gadget in the next ten minutes is easy! I am a second grade teacher in Austin (heart of south congress!) teaching 26 precocious 7 and 8 year olds. I would tape our Morning Meeting where the children are all given a chance to go around the circle with their, “Ya’ll know what?”. This is a chance for them to share something that is on their mind while the other class listens after responding, “What?” I would love to make a video montage of some of their crazy “shares” for them to have in the future. Wouldn’t you like a glimpse into what Tornado would say?
In the next ten months, my mom and I are doing the four day Inca trail for her 56th birthday (talk about some intense mother daughter bonding!). I would love to document our trip for her, myself, and my students! Hopefully Machu Pichu has not taken too big of a hit from their current flash floods. Our flight is already booked for March!
In ten years, I would like to still look back on the life through pictures, video, and memories, and know that I have lived life to the fullest. I want to remind myself that my students are right, and Ms. P really does rock.

I also want to capture how many accomplishments Hubs and I have hopefully done – an Ironman for him and a few marathons for me (I hope!)
In 10 months…I want to be in MAINTENANCE. I will have achieved something I’ve only ever dreamed of, and I want to capture our wonderful trip in October.
In 10 minutes…I will be working with my patients. And I hope that a video camera can help me become a better therapist!

I would use this camera to videotape myself doing 10 Hindu pushups. This would let me see, 10 minutes later, if I’m doing them with the proper form. I’d also keep that video and take another one of me doing Hindu pushups 10 months later to see if my form’s improved and if I’ve achieved my goal of doing 25 in a row. And I’d keep both of those videos, take them out in 10 years, and see how my fitness abilities have improved!

February 10, 2010 at 12:53 pmSuch a simple but thought provoking idea. 10 minutes: stay in this moment now (not the past, not the future) 10 months: be more organized (because I stayed in the present and gotten more accomplished) 10 years: balling my eyes out when my daughter turns 18 years old – but have a wonderful video collection of her best moments from the VADO camera to remember the journey!

February 10, 2010 at 4:31 pm10 minutes … well, i’m stuck indoors because of the snow in the east coast, so my plan for the next 10 minutes is to not think about eating (since i’ll have more than enough hunger cues to clue me into that). guess i could use the video camera to record my pantry. or make ridiculous music videos. either of those things would get me to maintain my goal of not eating due to boredom.
10 months! well, that one’s easy. in the next few months i’ll be defending a thesis proposal so i could record myself giving my proposal talk. actually, that’s a good idea, and as i have a computer video thing, i might do that anyways. that will get me closer to my goal of graduating.
10 years .. . i suppose i would use it to record a really compelling lecture i would give as a professor (one of many vague career goals). i wonder if videocameras will become obsolete in the next 10 years though.
i’m sort of always working on these goals. so in 2011 i can reassess what i’ve done and see what else i need to do.

February 10, 2010 at 6:44 pmI’ve been part of a group exercise for 5 weeks and the instructor has repeatedly said how much our form has improved. I don’t believe her. I still feel as ungainly as the first night.
I would like to video my progress between now and 10-10-10 (which I LOVE-I’m a total numbers geek). I think it’ll be hugely motivational to actually see my progress and body changes.

February 10, 2010 at 8:03 pmOh, lots of before-and-afters, for sure. How much can I declutter my closet in 10 minutes? How much better can 10 minutes of exercise make me feel? Things like that. It can be hard to stay motivated when making small changes like those, because the results are so gradual I forget how things were before. Which of course is why they work too, so I’m not complaining too much.
10 months… one of my resolutions for this year was to record my life more, so that I’ll have memories outside of my head. This would be perfect for that.
10 years – I don’t know yet! I don’t even have any 10-year goals. But I know that it would be a good way to track my progress toward them as I develop them.

February 10, 2010 at 8:17 pmI LOVE my Vado HD! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! As much as I would like to have another one, solely for me, that I didn’t have to share, that would be a little greedy of me. Thus I will stay out of this contest. Good luck everyone!

February 10, 2010 at 8:21 pmThis camera would soooo fit perfectly into my life right now! I have just taken my fitness up a level and to top it off met you to really inspire me along the way!!! What a total blessing that was!
I would use the camera each day to record my journey, and use it to inspire others on my blog. I have taken on a project to try to really tone up my arms and improve my muscle tone. This is so important as women when we get older…to keep our muscles strong! I want to prove that if you set your mind to something and you visualize the goal YOU CAN DO IT!
In 10 months I hope to say that I completed my journey. I hope to be feeling fabulous in some sleeveless shirts! I hope it is all documented by video on my blog too!
In 10 years (when I’m 50) I hope to look even better than I do right now a mere 5 months before the big 40. I feel fabulous at 40 and I want to feel just as fabulous at 50 and there is no reason why I can’t! I want to inspire others too!

February 10, 2010 at 9:53 pmI would be so EXCITED to record my journey with my son Drake who is special needs. He is Deaf/Blind and physically disabled. HE is though, a shining star and ha recently started to be included in wheelchair races where others push him to the finish line.
With my Vado camera, I would film him for at least 10 minutes a race, and in 10 months from now, film him again to see how differently he reacts to others around him! In 10 years, hope I am the one fit enough to be the one crossing that finish line with him while videoing the race!!!
What a testimony it would be to have the opportunity to record this journey with Drake!!!

February 10, 2010 at 9:58 pmI am a man who has goals too. It would be awesome to be able to film my life as a father, a husband and a son. I would video for 10 minutes what I want my children to learn from me about fitness.
I would film in 10 months what goals my wife and I have accomplished on our 10 year anniversary.
In 10 years, I hope I still have my parents to film and ask them to record what they would offer for a healthy life’s journey secret.
On the other hand… maybe I would film each of them for 10 minutes, in 10 months and in 10 years just to show how we all change, but can remain healthy!

February 10, 2010 at 10:05 pmIf I won the Vado camera, i would help my friends on Seek the Triad spread the word about health and fitness. I am the editor for Seek the Triad and would be able to share with their more than 800 followers and subscribers about the 10-10-10 project. We could vlog our way around the town to show the Triad what we have to offer each other for supporting clean living, healthy foods & spreading news about our local gyms and fitness clubs. We might could even feature some local trainers, runners and health experts to talk about their thoughts on the 10-10-10 project.
The Vado would open doors to our readers and would be a HUGE asset to what we are trying to do on our site.

February 11, 2010 at 12:41 amIn the next ten minutes: I want to log off the computer and go meditate in my spot. Clear my mind and focus on myself for a moment. Life is often so hectic that I think we all forget to unplug and take a break.
In the next ten months: I want to be that much closer to graduating from college with my BS degree in Animal Health Science. I want to do this without losing my mind, resorting to unhealthy coping mechanisms or letting my GPA slip because of “Senioritis”
In the next ten years: I want to focus on making my dreams come true, I want to be MORE than a “dieter”. I want to re-define me. I want to define MY normal. I want to learn to love and accept and embrace all people and I want to bring people with me on this journey. (which is how a nifty camera could come in handy!!)
I may not be a blogger :(, and I may only have a few pretty low resolution videos on Youtube but I believe I am on this planet to make a difference. Someday, somehow.. Changing one mind at a time. :] Because we’re all worth it.

February 11, 2010 at 9:04 amThis is a great give away. I love that you are challenging us. I need to challenge myself with this as well. So here I go….
10 min: it’s all about the present right here. take a pic of me 2010 with the weight I have lost and look forward to the journey ahead…
10 months: short-term goal would be to maintain the weight, to be in greatest shape of my life, and to help others succed, and to be a successful blogger…
10 years: capture life through my eyes as (hopefully) a wife, mother, sister, friend, and that my blog will be a tool for me to explore so me options to meet and help people to fight weight problems and obesity. Life is worth living and being healhty and fit only makes life that much sweeter….

1. I would use the Vado camera to keep track of workouts and how I felt before and after.
2. Use it to Vlog.
3. Use it as I train for the Tour De Force bike ride which is in September. (Ride from Washington DC to Ground Zero, NY)

February 11, 2010 at 11:43 amI don’t even own a digital camera at the moment. I’d love to take 10mins a week and document life. Then summarize those all together after 10months and have a chance to review it over the next 10 years.
Sometimes I think we all focus on the negative things too much and the good things get lost in the shuffle. Taking time out to appreciate yourself and those around you could do a world of good in reducing stress and increasing happiness.

February 11, 2010 at 12:16 pmWhat a great question!! We so often think about goals in such a generalized way, it’s fun to think about how my 10 minute goal affects the 10 month and even the 10 year ones!!!
10 minutes-I would video my lunch to blog and be accountable about what I’m putting in my body.
10 month-I’d video me running RUNNING my first 5K (we walked one in April, but I really want to RUN one!)
10 year-I’d use the camera to capture my first training session as a personal trainer. I’ll be down my 200 lbs by then and encouragine other people who don’t think they have a chance at losing the weight.
That’s what I’d do!!! 🙂

February 11, 2010 at 2:32 pmGreat challenge! I’d use it to capture the little moments of proudness and help them motivate me when the times get tougher later, which they always do. A great motivator!

February 11, 2010 at 5:46 pmI’ve never owned any sort of video camera and so very honestly would use it most to video my kids. They are just so darned cute and I regret having no videos of them.
But, then, I would probably have to use it to vlog too, eep, that’s scary! If I could get over my fear of posting my face online, vlogging would serve the same purpose as blogging. The accountability and support I get from the blogging community is priceless in my efforts towards reaching my weight loss and fittness goals.

February 11, 2010 at 8:10 pmI would use it to see the way I eat, and see the speed that I eat and whether I savor my food.
I would also use it to gauge my weight loss, to video a daily diary of my progress.

February 12, 2010 at 5:39 amI’d love to have the video camera to take videos of me and my family moving!!! I love yoga and healthy cooking, my DD loves ice skating and has been taking figure skating classes for over 5 years, my DH loves to play basketball and soccer and I’m hoping our twin 8 month old boys will love them too, but for now I would video their attempts at moving, rolling around the room and trying to crawl.
I love the 10-10-10. Never thought about it that way before. Mine are as follows:
10 minutes – take a shower and get ready to have a great day!
10 hours – Get caught up on work and other tasks around the house. We’ve been snowed in and I’ve been busy taking care of the boys. Need to let SIL help with that more today, so things can get done.
10 months – pay down more debt by cleaning out my closets and selling some things I don’t wear to consignment shops in the area. I also want to decorate our house more to make it feel more like a home. Our old house felt so much more like a home than this one does.

February 14, 2010 at 8:06 pmI love the idea of this and wonder what it would be like to blog and video blog in general. I love watching and reading yours and find it inspiring.
I am a therapist and I work with kids who have anxiety disorders including OCD, phobias, PTSD and generalized anxiety. I can give them tools but they have to do the scary work of believing and trusting themselves in the face of the fear they feel. This is hard work- I know because I have been through it as well.
I also work with children with morbid obesity who struggle with low self esteem and school bullying.
I will never forget the day I had a 8 year old girl say to me she wrote the words “I believe in myself” on her wall. It made me realize that I am teaching children to believe in themselves while feeling some really big fears and I also need to be pushing myself beyond my own fears. We are all so much more capable than we even realize.
That day I signed up for a half marathon and made a commitment to myself to not lose my own strength and foundation so that I can continue to teach others.
If I had a video camera, I would help kids record themselves learning about who they are- believing in themselves. I would use the camera as another option and tool to help my work and my own fears as well.
10 min- I have made a recommitment to meditate and will do so in 10 min
10 hours- I will be awake and into my training for the half marathon- April 10 then going to work fully engaged and aware of creating a safe and open space for clients to speak their truth.
10 months- I will be taking the GRE and applying for a PHd program to further the work I do. I will continue to be in a loving relationship with my boyfriend and continue to learn about myself through my relationship with him. I will be working on a children’s book- OR educational video!! about childhood anxiety disorders and their treatment options. Also signed up for my first triathalon.
Woo- Hoo- this is exciting and inspiring stuff!
