It’s long.
There’s a typo in the title I couldn’t fix since it’s not my account.
It’s rawreal&unedited.
It’s all thanks to FITARELLA’S filming & uploading (please to thank her!).
I give you what *I* do when life conspires to derail me & my weight workouts take place in street clothes.
Please to enjoy.

March 24, 2010 at 6:58 amPS I totally agree with you about working the legs. I walk so much that I don’t see the point in doing much legs work. I do calf raises at the same time as bicep curls and I also like to do squats, but that’s it. Walking really tones the legs and makes them incredibly strong.

March 24, 2010 at 7:03 amThis is pretty awesome Miz.
Sometimes I seriously think I can’t do a great workout because I can’t afford a gym membership.
You proved me wrong – I have a resistance band, some canned foods, and my body!

March 24, 2010 at 8:20 amI LOVE this! I’m so sad I missed it while at the conference (stupid kidney stones!). I’m going to use it for sure … some days my workout is all about being short and effective. MizFit you always know what to tell us who have no idea what to do. <3

March 24, 2010 at 8:45 amBrilliant! I am an all-or-nothing girl at heart, and if I don’t do a 2-hour gym workout, it “doesn’t count.” But with my lifestyle (5 & 8 year-olds, plus a mom who needs a lot of caregiving), I just can’t be consistent. I know short bursts work, I just need to work on the mental block that tells me it’s “not enough.”

March 24, 2010 at 9:18 amWhat a fun video and how cool to show that you REALLY can get a good workout in without the gym! Y’all look like you were having fun, which is what I love, too!

March 24, 2010 at 9:23 amAwesome video. LOVE it.
One HUGE hint I’ve figured out about the deadlifts: before you begin, make sure your shoulder blades are back and down, so your shoulders are not rounded at all. It becomes impossible to round and hurt your lower back.
Lunges- are an advanced exercise and I don’t think most people should do them. Step ups are a great alternative that works the legs and don’t threaten the knees or the lower back. On the go – use a stair case. either go up the stairs 2 at a time, or just step up to the 2nd step, hold and balance.

March 24, 2010 at 9:40 amI wonder if we could burn this to a dvd?
I am going to try and figure that out but I did the video from my phone this morning.
So funny looking I am certain.

March 24, 2010 at 10:15 amGreat video! So much covered in such a short period of time.
One huge hint I’ve learned about deadlifts, and it’s NOT obvious until you try it. Before you begin your decent, make sure your shoulderblades are back and down and your upper back is firm. It is impossible to round your lower back if you do so. Bye-bye to all those lower back threats of the deadlift.
Lunges: I think of them as an advanced movement that most people should NOT be doing. If knees wobble at all while lunges, or lower back hurts, put them on the back burner. (MY OPINION).
Instead, concentrate on step ups. Step up onto a bench, stable chair, or stair step. Drive up and balance there on one leg. These can be done facing the step, sideways to the step or facing away from the step (only when the others are rock solid).
