Yes, People. Today was supposed to be part three of our No Excuses! experience.
The more exposed than the EXPOSED post if you will.
The one where I yammer wax eloquently about my tee’s significance, reveal what Ive learned about why *I* make excuses & share some ways Ive worked to overcome the ugly habit.
That shit chickenbus is coming next week.**
Spring has sprung around here & it’s too nice NOT to head outside and get our PLAYout on.
Today we ARE exercising & not wasting precious life-moments chatting about rationalizations we make for not gittin’ it done.
Child or no child the playground is a perfect place for some springtime, outdoors, fresh air laden, resistance training.
Join me? (dont you dare try and proffer any excuses…)
**Wanna join our No Excuses! crusade already in progress? Can catch up here on parts one & two.

May 4, 2010 at 6:03 amJust proof you don’t need to spend a lot of money or join a gym to get in a workout, so everyone can throw that excuse right out the window!

May 4, 2010 at 6:05 amI really do laugh to husband FREQUENTLY that when the child is in school Ill need to join a gym and GO. Our lives are fraught with exercise these days…of the nontraditional ilk.

May 4, 2010 at 6:06 amLove it! Sometimes I have it stuck in my head that if I want to exercise I need to go to the gym. So not true.

May 4, 2010 at 6:14 amDid you just call me out?

May 4, 2010 at 6:31 amBut but it’s been COLD and miserable outside and I don’t WANNA leave the comfort of my warm home!
🙂 Kidding. Yesterday I combated the weather by enjoying some long rainy walks and by lifting weights indoors. Methinks today shall be a similar day.
Have fun playing!

May 4, 2010 at 6:57 amI remember this video and the joy and wonderment in the Tornado’s voice when she saw the puppy – kids are so great!!!
And I’ve been remembering that I don’t only have to workout in the gym – hence, my push ups at work the other day. Feels good to sneak some exercises in!

May 4, 2010 at 7:09 amI think it’s hilarious that you’re packin’ a Dyna-Band in your purse. I never thought of that one. Of course, now, my family and friends will think that I’ve completely gone over the edge. 🙂
Thanks for the tips.

May 4, 2010 at 7:12 amGreat new look with the site!!
I also feel that these outdoor play areas offer lots of opportunities for us adults to have fun and get a workout also. Just be careful with kids only parts.

May 4, 2010 at 10:26 amWow! How timely, I just inquired about hiring a personal trainer for $30 bucks…once a week…for 40 minutes!
I’m now thinking of getting a band? and heading to the park!
Where would I get a band like that? What did you call it?
Do you think a trainer is worth it? Can I reach the same results in the park…strenth and tonning? Escaping bone desity loss and osteo arthritis??
Thanks for sharing your “cheap” work-out ideas

May 4, 2010 at 2:07 pmOooh I love a good park workout!! This is beside the point: but you are making some awesome memories for the Tornado. She is so blessed to have you as a mama.

May 4, 2010 at 2:32 pmThanks so much for sharing this video. We all forget that there are ways to workout without the convenience of the gym. Today we are having a snow storm and can’t make it too the gym. It is also leg day for me so I need to find ways as well as the squats and lunges, to work my legs here at home.

May 5, 2010 at 11:31 amLove the workout at the playground.
I always try to be a kid again when I take my kids to the playground. No reason we should be sitting on the side watching. Jump in and have some fun.
Remember the good old days when playing was where you got your workout.
