This is the second in a series of posts about companies with whom Im entirely smitten.
If by series you mean I shall post em when the spirit and customer service moves meβwhich I do.
The woman who made me Oprah for A Day & I finally meet in person.
This post is one which is truly close to my heart.
Ive been blogging at MizFit for almost three and a half years and these days it’s fairly easy to get a PR rep or company to respond to my emails.
They may not necessarily be willing or able to do what I ask—but gone are the days when I know chances of a response are minuscule.
This company I love post goes out to a brand who loved me when I was a newbie-MizFit.
Who showed US the love even when the MizFit brand was wholly unknown.
I initially met Sally when I reached out to her and asked about doing a product review.
She “got” blogging
Sally saw value my sharing my Oiselle-experiences with you and, practically after I hit send, a pair of running shorts showed up at my door.
I loved em.
I shared that Id have loved them more had they possessed a draw string.
Sally lovingly informed me (& still teases me) that were I to actually wear shorts a size that fit this wouldn’t be a problem.
(Im renown for loving my shorts uber-baggy.Β A post-topic for a different day)
It was weeks later that I received an email from Sally saying she had an idea she wanted to run past me.
The words GIVE AWAY and OPRAH were bandied about by way of a teaser & I couldn’t thumb-type back quickly enough to find out her plan.
Sally, in her truly inimitable generous way, had decided she wanted to do a give away at MizFit where everyone was a winner.
She wanted to bestow upon every commenter a brand!spanking!new!sportsbra.
No catches. No with purchase. And NO SHIPPING fees either.
The proverbial string attached?Β Sally wanted to listen to us (I know. That’s like the catch being more free sh*t huh?).
She wanted to know what we loved about brands, what we didnt love, what workout garment we would design if we could create ANYTHING.
The good, the bad, & the creative dreamers—she wanted it all.
And, hundreds of sports bras later, she had it.
Not only did she mail out her treats in a quickasaflash fashion—she took the time to thank us afterward.
Oiselle Running is more than an example of a class act & a brand who produces quality apparel.
Sally loved us back at a time when MizFit was too (finger quote) small (unFQ) to even be on the radar of many other companies.
We appreciate, recognize & patronize them for it Yes.Β Im totally pretending I speak for all of us.Β The Royal We.
Still.
So there you have it.
My Ode of Love (blah blah blah clarifying again this is an unpaid missive of adoration) & official bestowing of the MizFit Seal of Approval:
This misfit thinks you rock.

June 18, 2010 at 4:03 amWell, thankyouverymuch! I would love to support a company that treated you so well as a newbie! How fabulous!
And, I love that you like your shorts baggy. It’s unique.

June 18, 2010 at 4:08 amI laugh that you say Sally told you that your shorts are too big.
I’ve thought that before when I’ve watched your videos!!
Companies are lucky you recognize their efforts.

June 18, 2010 at 6:09 amThat’s brilliant marketing–a sports bra to everyone who commented. She’s a smart one. I always think it’s so funny when companies penny pinch so much they lose business. (Like the Subway down the street that charges 50 cents for extra pickles…I’ll go to the other Subway and get extra for free). Feeling like someone cares about you personally makes all the difference.

regardless, i am SUPER psyched about you doing it and hope lots of your blogger buddies join you!! can’t wait for the stories and pics on that!!
i think its abfab of you to run these customer service posts honey – too many companies go un-complimented but man we can spread bad reviews like wildfire!
kudos (as usual!)

June 19, 2010 at 5:41 pmHey lady, THANK YOU…for your kind words, your witty wisdom, your approachable style, and your ability to inspire and inform — with self awareness and HUMOR. Yes, thank God for your humor. π
You do us (and Oiselle) and honor through the kinship. And it IS truly a kinship I feel. Here’s to more good times and giveaways in the future. Would like to continue to gather input from your peeps, and spread the love with more product!

June 20, 2010 at 7:19 amI love the simplicity of their designs and basic colors. Often there are so many style/color choices it makes me nuts.
Btw, just read a few posts and just figured out the “finger quote” and “unFQ”. You are too funny! π

June 20, 2010 at 11:07 amThanks to MizFit I’m a BIG supporter of Oiselle and Sally (wearing her shorts now!) and find them to be the best running shorts, by far! They fit (even sans drawstring) in that they come in XS (yay!) and I think they make my legs look great (bonus!). Whenever I see them at a running expo I try to pick up something, and Sally is awesome about replying when I comment to her Twitter messages! Love her, love you MizFit!
