Reason #7872 I married well. Ren Man a had mock book-cover created for me.
Tomorrow it will officially be two months since I outed myself & revealed the 101 reasons behind my latest No Excuses! tee’venture.
I’m proud to say Ive stuck to my proverbial guns.
I reminded myself that success or “failure” was completely dependent on me and that was a good thing.
An empowering thing.
I ceased being Rationalization McGee, acknowledged the rationalizations about my book-goal were merely fears in disguise, & made *plans* not excuses.
I scheduled my writing time & made the appointment sacred as I do with all other important events.
Im no longer the Excuse Master with regards to writing a picture book for the Tornado.
My new title is happily, thankfully Editor McMizFitPants as Im thisclose to finished & ready to revise.
And DAMN it feels great.
I cant promise I wont need the No Excuses! exercise ever again, but I can guarantee next time it will be focusing on a different life-dilemma.
And DAMN that feels great.
Tomorrow (oooh teaser) this blogger isΒ joining us & sharing her experiences with the No Excuses! concept.
Until then I encourage you to spend a few moments revisiting your tee (should you have have joined us the first time) or grabbing an old white tee/a Sharpie and having at it (should you have missed initially).
Sure Im here if you wanna hit me up below—but as with airplanes & oxygen masks please to take care of yourself first.

July 14, 2010 at 3:08 amHi Miz.
I joined in the first time around and am still making some of the excuses for why I am not on track, but I’ve gotten better.
I’m calling my experience a success, too.
CONGRATS!!!

July 14, 2010 at 3:11 amHoo Boy. Today is a good a day as any to say . . . I’ve still been making excuses. But, today is also as good a day as any to say . . . it’s a brand new day. I will use my powers for GOOD not evil, and I will use my quiet time this afternoon to WRITE.
Terie says
July 14, 2010 at 3:28 amI, too, missed this the first time around and have a list of excuses for not working out as long as my arm (as big as my belly? LOL!).
I adore that cover your husband had done for the book.
Are you going to sell it?

July 14, 2010 at 5:20 amYou have proven, once again, the importance of catching ourselves when we first start trying to make those excuses, and nipping it in the bud.
Thank you.
Susan says
July 14, 2010 at 5:34 amI needed to hear that rationalizations are fears in disguise.
I rationalize often.

July 14, 2010 at 6:21 amAlas, this book is for an audience of one.
Well, three if you count the Tornado, Ren Man and me.
Which, in a bigbadEXCUSERIDDLEDway, made it far more challenging to create.

July 14, 2010 at 7:01 amCan’t tell you how proud I am of you. Way to set your goal and follow through excuse free. I’ve recently noticed more and more how good it feels to accomplish goals and create quality.
Make me the first to know when your book hits the shelves. I’ll buy a copy, or 30 (the number of potential grand children and great grandchildren I may some day have).

July 14, 2010 at 7:44 amYAY!!!!!! I <3 this post!
And you know what??? I realized that since I made my no-excuses tee (re exercise), that I haven't been making excuses…seriously. I hadn't really thought about (which is actually an important part of the process, I think). I've added kettlebells to kickboxing and am really rocking my fitness!

I’ve had the realization that excuses are woven through my life and if I pick fitness as a place to start other excuses will fall away as well.

July 15, 2010 at 7:52 amI love me a good inspirational post. I’m fairly new to your blog, but I love your energy and could see it nicely reflected in a book for children. I worked with children all through college and developed a real love of literature for children. I’d love to see your finished work.

July 15, 2010 at 8:05 amWhether you choose to share this with us or not I wanted to add that it thrilled me to no end your book is not about fitness.
You preach there is more to life and you lead us by example.

July 15, 2010 at 4:31 pmYou are amazing. This is spectacular! I love it!
And… once you really sit down and figure out what the heck is keeping you from things that you are fully in control to fix, isn’t it so much easier to actually DO them? Like, when you don’t sit down and think/write it out, it just seems like this haze of overwhelming, but if you just dig in, you wonder what the heck your problem was? π
Have a safe flight and great trip!
