Happy birthday to me.

Me at four. Sadly the only hair-difference is I grew out the bangs.

Today I am 41 (**cue confetti shaped like absolutely anything as Im just happy to be here!**).

In honor of that** the AMAZETASTIC Smooth Fitness sent me a treadmill.

A treadmill which will be pivotal as I train for the Las Vegas Rockn’Roll half marathon.

Truly.

To know me at all, to have read this blog even a few times, you’re aware my me-time/cardio-time is the crack of dawn.

When it’s pitch black outside.

And this misfit is still a little afraid of the dark owns no reflective gear.

In addition, being a Texan, once the sun comes up most of us wanna stay inside anyway.

As a result, you can see how this was the greatest!gift!ever! (Sorry Ren Man—but you can share it).

My birthday gift or not, the Tornado was allowed to try the present (pre-assembly.  post-assemblage, to her chagrin, she was given the DANGER!DANGER!GROWNUPS ONLY! lecture):

Afterward, she & Ren Man lovingly assembled it for me

And my new treat was ready to roll, err, run.

I truly am lucky & blessed in many, many ways.

  5. Oh that was a nice gift. You sound like myself; my cardio activity begins in the wee hours of the morning too. I have the house to myself, and can hop on the treadmill while the daughter still sleeps.

    Aww, you look the same as you did when you were little. I look a lot my young childhood pics too, the major difference is I now where my hair in locs.

    Oh by the way, you have a lovely family.

  7. Happy Birthday! Enjoy the treadmill!

    I’ve been having a hard time getting motivated to run outside in the city (current heat & humidity isn’t helping either!) so the treadmill has been my best friend at the gym lately!

    I must chuckle at the photo! I think we had the same photographer as children! My brother and I have the exact same pictures with the whole telephone thing! There are others that were done at the same time. They’re i a box in my basement somewhere.

    Anyway, I hope you are treated like a Queen, as deserved, today!

  22. Happy Birthday, Miz!! I hope you have a superamazingfantasticfunfilled day. Supposedly, 41 is stellar…my mom constantly says that 41 or 42 would be a “good age to be again” (she is 51). Enjoy every second of your special day 🙂

    As I’ve always said, it’s not the age, its the mileage. You’ve done very well for your 41 years…and as I get ready for the big 42 in August, I know that I have a lot of time to make up for, but doing my best to make 42 and beyond the best that they can be.

    Yes, here in the deep south, you either exercise at the crack of dawn (4:30am in my house) or not at all). Too hot and too much going on after that.

    Even though I don’t want one, I still think it’s pretty awesome that a company sent you a treadmill.

    I myself was planning to send a 200 pound rock for tossing, but the postal service wouldn’t accept it. And that was after I stood in line holding it for 10 minutes.
