(which really means Fewer Word Wednesday…this time with more giveaway)
Zensah offered me the opportunity to try their compression running skirt/sports bra. Note the smile. I like’y being compressed.
The obligatory butt rear view of the Zensah skirt (and my need for a haircut).
I liked running in the skirt, but I think Id LOVE were it a wee bit shorter. It’s the PERFECT length for weight training.
I adore the liner-shorts. Comfy comfy compression comfy.
My girls? They loved the bra.Β So much so I was willing to sport it FOR YOU instead of merely cutting & pasting a Zensah site photo.
Two words: WICKING PERFECTION.
There’s really no point behind the photo above except the fact the Tornado wanted in & decided to mimic the Mama likes to run in short stuff picture.
Why are we smiling so radiantly in the photo above?
Because Zensah has offered to send TWO of you a sports bras as well.
(they generous like that)
Two lucky readers will experience, as I did, the amazetastic ultra-breathable, moisture wicking, seamless construction joy which is Zensah.

September 8, 2010 at 3:48 amHow were the bras with chafing? I notice on my longer runs even with moisture wick I get a lil chafing under my girls. That skirt looks like what I’ve been looking for. Long for u but with my umm big ole butt it’ll be perfect length lol
Will check out there sizing. Thanks. I’ve never heard of them

September 8, 2010 at 4:08 amI thought I was up so early I’d beat you to the punch, nope! (I am up b/c a kid is coughing and I couldn’t go back to sleep, you are up, because you are.
Does Zensah take care of Big girls? I’m large and bouncy and so agree with BK, after long runs, I get all chafed. After my half, I was so sore that I ripped my bra off on the 4 hour drive home (with my 15 year old in the car next to me), poor kid.

September 8, 2010 at 4:08 amWould having a Zensah bra or running skirt make me want to run? Probably not, but I’d look cute walking along the trail in their spiffy outfit!

Any new sports bras would help this woman.
Everything I own is old!!

September 8, 2010 at 4:39 amGreatest sport bra lament? Strap length.
The vast majority of sports bra are of the style in this post with fixed-length straps which means that they do not provide adequate support for people with short torsos (or like me, short all-around).
I also don’t get why they are often not sized like normal bras by band and cup, but rather as S/M/L/… but that is not nearly as annoying as having straps that float inches above one’s actual shoulders.
(Not in the US, so no entry for me. I just needed to gripe.)
jen (@jeninRL) says
September 8, 2010 at 4:43 amI like the skirt – most running skirts seem so short and my thighs need more length. And sports bras – they either are too flexible and not enough support OR they are like the one I am currently wearing is too thick (perfectly tight) but heavy and HOT!
I love the tornado! Let her stay little! The karate kid is wearing a bra now! ewwww!

September 8, 2010 at 4:57 amI shop for quality, perfect fitting bras for everyday wear but not for gym wear…WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?? I’m in the gym 6 days a week for goodness sakes!
Yes, I need new and improved sports bras. Thanks for the recommendation and the sports wear modeling (you should add that to a resume or a bio someday!)
P.S. Those compression arm sleeves and socks in pink? Seriously cool.

September 8, 2010 at 4:59 amI would love support without crushing, wicking and aome way to not get all tangled up in it once I’m sweaty. π
Debra says
September 8, 2010 at 5:20 amI hate a sports bra that compresses every where but where the bounce is. My ribs really don’t need to be compressed that tightly while the girls still bounce around like basketballs. π
I’ve been looking for a running skirt for my size. Impossible to find. I have thighs. The shorts need to be longer so I don’t end up looking like I’ve got hamburger meat for legs from the rubbing and chaffing. And trying to find something in XL or XXL… impossible. Oh wait, I’ve found skirts that say XL but they fit like Mediums. Come on people!! Fat girls want to look cute while we’re jogging too.
Frenchie says
September 8, 2010 at 5:26 amThose look great! I need to find a bra that, on my long runs, won’t leave the nipples bloody! Even when I feel like the girls are so firmly in place that I may be a size smaller after the run, I still get the chaffing. I also would like to find one that truly wicks and there’s not a pool of sweat when I’m done!
Reen says
September 8, 2010 at 5:27 amI’d love to try these new sport bras. Currently, I’m wearing ones that, like other have said, are somewhat “crushing” and I too have the problem with sweating and when I try to take them off afterwards, they get all tangled up!
I love, love, love running skirts! They do need a good underlining/short underneath though, ones where the legs don’t slip and end up in at my hip after running for a few minutes!
Erica says
September 8, 2010 at 5:49 amCute cute cute! I need some new bras. I like bras that really hold it all down…I teach group fitness…I don’t want stuff flopping around π
Ruth says
September 8, 2010 at 5:54 amMost sports bras are either uncomfortably thick, restrictive, hot, or are thin and comfy but don’t provide enough support. Hoping the Zensah (love the name) hits the happy middle.
By the way, I got my free tank yesterday–the size I wanted. So awesome!
Thanks MizFit, for your great giveaways, your general wisdom and some kick-ass guest posts, too. You are the whole package.
Shelley B says
September 8, 2010 at 5:55 amDon’t enter me for the bra – my girls are finally happy with their new home. But thank you for the review of the running skirt – I’ve been coveting them, and so far the one that I tried on was too short…so your “too long” sounds just right for me – woohoo!
Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman says
September 8, 2010 at 5:58 amThis is about the only time I’m super excited I have a flat chest. I can wear just about any sports bra out there without a problem. I may envy women with larger chests outside the gym, but I can’t imagine how annoying it is to not feel comfortable in a regular sports bra.
Lesli says
September 8, 2010 at 6:03 amHey Mizzy.

I wanted to just say thank you for all you do for us.

Renda says
September 8, 2010 at 6:03 amI am larger so more support is needed. I used to think compressed equals support, but then I noticed rib pain and/or back pain.
And then sometimes when I try to get out of the wet, sweaty things I pull something because it has adhered to closely to my body. Sigh.
Mine aren’t girls; they are full grown women and they are starting to get a little cranky.
Tonia says
September 8, 2010 at 6:06 amDude. Sports bras are evil. I have zero chest, just too much skin. which despite being an AA needs some support. All these skimpy bras made for small cup sizes aren’t cutting it.
I am hoping that zensah’s seamless technology will keep me chafe free!
Jennifer@knackfornutrition says
September 8, 2010 at 6:13 amMy biggest sports bra complaint is being unable to find one that gives me just the right amount of support. So far, it has been extremes in either direction. Perhaps this sports bra will be the one! I would love to try it out!

September 8, 2010 at 7:00 amI have a hard time finding sports bras that are comfortable and supportive. The combo is a challenge for me. And I wear sports bras to garden too…but I don’t have any that I love right now.

September 8, 2010 at 7:04 amThose pics of you & Tornado, priceless!!!!
Me, yes, the wicking of the material is so important & I sweat like no tomorrow so your comment on that was cool! Also, being not too well endowed & looks like that bra fit you pretty good… liking that! And I just so need new sports bras! π As much as I work out, rotating a couple does not work too well! π
Karyn says
September 8, 2010 at 7:08 amYou two need a Bravo show!!
Although there is the risk that the Tornado would try and steal the spotlight.
(I am ordering a skirt! At 5′ 10 I need long ;))
charlotte says
September 8, 2010 at 7:18 amThe Tornado just made my day!! I love her! As for the skirt – that is pretty long for a running skirt. Did it chafe at that length? ‘Cause I kind of like the longer length… Hmmm… off to their site to see if they have any skirts with attached capris (yes, I’m still searching for those!)
Patrick says
September 8, 2010 at 7:22 amHmm, well I am not sure what I would do with a sports bra if I won’t it so I’ll abstain from the giveaway to up the odds of someone who can use it. Plus if I won I’d feel compelled to model it for you and, well, that just wouldn’t feel right…
Miz, is that Horton from Horton Hears a Who fame on your leg? I love your blog and thus you too, you’ve been a grand source of inspiration & knowledge in my mission. September 8, 2010 at 7:39 amGreatest lament? That the girls continue to bounce…even with the uber compression ones, just lifting weights, there is bounceage. (Is that a word?) I continue to search for the comfiest, least bounciest, wickingliest sports bra….

September 8, 2010 at 8:33 amI wear not just one sports bra, but TWO. So my biggest lament is the fact that I wear two freaking bras when I work out. Talk about a major pain in the rear.

September 8, 2010 at 9:19 amFor me, typically sports bras do not provide enough support. Hate my girls unsupported! Would love a shot at the wicking wonder bra, esp. if it’ll make me run faster and longer!! Love, love, LOVE the skirt too, Miz!

September 8, 2010 at 9:33 amI’d love to try out the outfit – it looks great! My biggest sports bra complaint is when I get the uni-boob look going. My other complaint is that I need a small size for the strap under the bra, but need a large size for the bra part itself – which usually leads to spillage on the side – not pretty!
Suzanne says
September 8, 2010 at 9:42 amThe great thing about the Zensah bras is that they are seamless = NO chafing/rashes/bleeding !! π (MizFit note: this is from Zensah)
Stacey says
September 8, 2010 at 9:56 amMy biggest sports bra complaint is mine are all sweat stained & look totally disgusto. I would hope if they are a wickable material that wouldn’t get as nasty looking as my old cheap cotton bras.
angela says
September 8, 2010 at 10:24 amMy sports bra thoughts: I HATE when they’re made for people without boobs. Meaning please put some darn support in them. And once you put the support for at least a C cup in them, please don’t then make them ugly. There’s a chance my sports bra is going to show a little under a tank. Please make it attractive. π
Paige @ Two Runners And A Brown Dog says
September 8, 2010 at 10:42 amI can’t stand it when a sports bra doesn’t go up far enough on the underarm; thus leaving some of the side of the breast exposed. I guess I would like to see more coverage on the sides.
Nicole says
September 8, 2010 at 11:09 amI’ve found that most commercial sports bras are designed bor >ahem< bustier ladies. They will fit snug underneath, but they don't keep the girls in place so I have to keep re-adjusting. And they keep the moisture right up against my skin which causes me to feel icky and irritates my skin after long workouts in a flop-sweat.
Geosomin says
September 8, 2010 at 11:15 amWicking is cool…I hate havining wierd sweat marks when I work out…I like that the skirt/shorsts are longer. I don’t like the inside shorts to be too short or they ride up on me…they look rather cool to me.
Wish I was all USA so I could be in this.
Suppose I’ll live π
Christine says
September 8, 2010 at 11:19 amMy greatest lament is that there is not enough SQUISH. I’ve got big ta-tas, and so when I go jogging I have to wear TWO sports bras! Yikes! Imagine the elastic digging into your skin from THAT. I’d like a sports bra that has enough compression where I’d only have to wear ONE of them. If it was able to do compression *AND* allow two separate boobies (aka: not the uni-boob) that would be supreme.

September 8, 2010 at 11:40 amI’m hoping Zensah has something that fits! I’m a 36DDD…not an easy find. Companies think busty chicks aren’t supposed to run marathons and do crazy workouts or what?! π
Kendra says
September 8, 2010 at 11:57 amOoh! I want I want!
I have the great annoyance of not being able to find a sports bra with a small enough cup size to band length ratio. I might be chubby but I am not well endowed.
Erin says
September 8, 2010 at 12:42 pmGreatest sportsbra lament? Feeling like they are either really supportive and HOT or not supportive enough. That one looks GREAT!
Billie says
September 8, 2010 at 12:44 pmI read your blog regularly, but never comment. Decided this is a good time to comment. I would love a free Zensah running skirt and sports bra. I have just started back working out and I love the bike shorts, but with my thighs the way they are a skort would be a great solution. Also I have the same annoyance everyone else has the cup size to band length ratio. I am on the heavy side but don’t have large “girls”, so it’s hard to get something that actually fits without them coming out while I work out.
Please enter me in your drawing, I would love to try something new.

September 8, 2010 at 3:51 pmZensah sports bras? Alas!
They don’t have my size.
Their Seamless Tights, though,
Look just right for my thighs.
But what qualities in a sports bra
Does this zaftig tri-girl seek?
Must support like a fortress
And of the nipples, no peek.
I like one front-hooking,
With a racer back sturdy.
Uniboob is okay;
I’m not trying to be flirty.
The straps must not slip
Off the shoulders or chafe.
Wickability’s a must!
And size? Opposite-of-waif.

September 8, 2010 at 7:39 pmsigh. the agony of finding a proper sports bra, especially for the *ahem* deltas. Cassie says
September 8, 2010 at 7:44 pmMy “biggest” problem is the chaffing underneath the girls, I hate how red and raw that area gets. Very uncomfortable. I am hoping that Zensah products will help reduce if not eliminate the chaffing of the girls… they are sensitive!
Heather M says
September 8, 2010 at 8:28 pmWhatβs your greatest sports bra lament?
Seams and bouncing. They hurt if they aren’t well-controlled, and we all know that chafing hurts!
What do you hope a Zensah bra will do that thus far other companies have not?
Seamless plus compression sounds absolutely perfect.

September 9, 2010 at 5:13 amIs there an inner separation on that bra? If not, I would get a horrible case of mono-boob. (You can leave me out of the drawing.)
Off topic…I got the free shirt from Oiselle. I usually hate yellow, but it’s a gorgeous golden color. Alas, it’s too small in the chest. But I’ll be taking it to the gym today to pass along to a gym buddy I’m sure it will look great on.

September 9, 2010 at 3:42 pmI like compression. I don’t like my girls to move- at all. My everyday bra seems to be better support than any sports bra I have tried. I don’t do anything high impact without doubling them and still deal with bounce.
Tricia says
September 9, 2010 at 4:44 pmI’m in the same boat as Nan! I’ve had all of my sports bras so long that the girls just fly all over the place without any control when I run! I’ve had to get my husband to help pull them off on occasion! LOL!
