Phone’ier.
Id no plans to post at all today.
It was to be Living Not Blogging About Life in the truest sense…until it wasn’t.
You see today I really needed to step back, allow myself to MizFit-myself, & practice what I preach.
The lovely child pictured above (hmmm or is it below? I think it’s above…and I’ll learn this phone thing at some point) kept me & the Ren Man awake much of last night.
I woke up (if you can call it that) tired and knowing it would be a long day ahead.
I was thisfreakinclose to just blowing off the exercise and heading STRAIGHT to placing the oxygen masks on others.
Until I wasn’t.
Until I reminded myself that nothing makes me a better wifemomsisterdaughterfriendMizFit than putting myself first.
So that’s what I’m off to do.
Welcome to my spontaneous thumb-typed Self-Care Tuesday.
If you’re waiting for an email, text, word document or phone call from me it’s gonna be a wee-while.
I’m off to slip on MY oxygen mask FIRST.
(And yes. That photo is actually from this morning. She then yanked off the tank and demanded I wear it. I happily complied. Today I need the SUPERMIZFIT! reminder)

September 14, 2010 at 7:58 amIt’s all about balance, isn’t it? It’s so easy to let the world get to us, with it’s demanding ways. Thanks for the reminder that we need to do some demanding of our own: after all, we’re the person best suited to taking care of ourselves.
Up, up and away…

September 14, 2010 at 8:08 amWhat a great reminder that we have to do what is best for us before we can be the best for others.

I need to lose the GUILT!

September 14, 2010 at 8:25 amI almost did not go to work today. But then I remembered all that would fall apart and be stuck on someone else’s shoulders if I did not show up. Ugh. Not fair to my co-workers. I’ll try again some other time.

September 14, 2010 at 9:14 amYay for taking care of YOU! I can sympathize with those all-nighters. My youngest has never been one to require a lot of sleep. Which means that I never got much either. Let’s figure out a way to bottle their energy…we’ll be MIZmillionaires 😀

Hoping you’re having a lovely day after all.

September 14, 2010 at 9:24 amThe irony lies in the fact that SHE doesn’t look tired at all. 😉

September 14, 2010 at 9:41 amWell, I guess I can ditch any plans I had to use an excuse today. Fine, I’ll work out too. Sleep, isn’t that a workout? Can we launch a study to prove that sleep is a workout? I’ll donate a pillow to the cause! No, we can’t do that… ok, until the day we can sleep our way to fitness I’ll lace up and get out there then.

September 14, 2010 at 10:07 amWe use Ren Man’s phrase all the time.
I’m glad you took care of yourself today…if you don’t, who will? Hope you both can catch a little nap, too. Wonder why she wasn’t sleeping well? Eighth wonder, no doubt.

September 14, 2010 at 10:58 amWay to go. Not many people out there see it that way (especially moms) so I love that you do and you choose to take care of you first. Better person, better wife, better mother because of it. Now if I could always remember to do that for me… 🙂

September 14, 2010 at 12:57 pmI need to remember this.
My body tells me a lot of the time – when I wake up with a headache from thinking of stupid things all night, or when my asthma flares up. But I’d rather be proactive and avoid these situations!
Yesterday my work break was a workout and so it will be today.
Thanks for the reminder that I come first!

September 14, 2010 at 3:29 pmSUCH an awesome reminder…I always forget this, must place my oxygen mask on first, then I can be there for others! I might need to write that on a post-it and stick it somewhere prominent… PUT ON YOUR OXYGEN MASK FIRST

September 16, 2010 at 3:30 pmHi, this is an extremely fascinating article. I’m really struggling to shift my excess weight and cellulite in the past few months and it is motivating to read as much about the subject as possible. Do you think at any point there’ll be a reliable and affordable solution? Thank you so much for publishing my comment!
