Alas, as we’ve previously established, I’m not running December 5th in Las Vegas:
As a result I also will not be donning the white tutu below for a vow renewal that weekend either:
And, while I could totally manufacture an excuse to wear the so freakin cute TUXEDO SKORT pictured below (on someone else. Ive not airbrushed out my SneechStar):
Ive decided to pass on their *generous* offer to clad me for the race Im not running—and pass the opportunity on to you.
You may be entered to win the Tuxedo Skort (Seriously, how much do we love the name & the concept?! Perfect for the runningandmarrying Peeps among us!) for the lowlow price of a comment below.

November 19, 2010 at 2:52 amI can’t decide if I want to win or not. Honestly. I don’t think I’d run in a skirt but I’m completely in love with the name and concept of this. Tuxedo Skort. It just makes me giggle. 🙂

November 19, 2010 at 3:09 pmI love my running skits. Mary – I hope you win.

November 19, 2010 at 3:14 amOh my goodness, the boyfriend has been talking about taking me out to a fancy restaurant where he’d wear a suit and everything, and here I thought I’d be hunting for a pretty dress for ages – when I could totally wear the tuxedo skirt instead!
😀
In all honesty, I can see myself wearing that in the summertime as a regular skirt. Or around my house in the middle of winter, pretending it’s warm enough to wear a skirt. And pretending that I’m glamorous and at a black tie event. I might even dance around my house wearing it. Probably it would not be used for running purposes. But dancing!
(Tuxedo skirt really is the best name ever for a skirt).
(Also I have not gone to sleep yet. I’m just still awake ridiculously early in the morning. The last time I was up this late would have been easily over a year ago… and the reason for it this time was to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter. I’m just that cool.)
Off to bed now and to stop this rambling comment and to dream of tuxedo skirts.

November 19, 2010 at 3:31 amThat skirt is super cute. I’m always looking for new ones for teaching 🙂 I think they get bored of looking at me if I wear the same outfit too many times haha

November 19, 2010 at 4:57 amHi, Carla!
I am sad to hear about your change of plans, but would like to support your generous offer by winning the skirt! LOL!
I would wear the skirt to the supermarket. It appears to be a lucky skirt. Perhaps if I wore a lucky skirt to the supermarket, a bag of potato chips would leap into my cart!
It is just a theory.

You inspire me whether you are running or not.

November 19, 2010 at 5:26 amCute skirt, but I am just not a skirt kinda gal. Very generous of you to pass along their generous offer, though.
And I’m *convinced* something wonderful will happen to or for you in Austin on the 5th. I know these things….

November 19, 2010 at 5:52 amI’d wear it in my first 10k. I’m shooting for April or May 2012. I never know what to wear on race day. The tuxedo skirt would make it all the more fancy 😉

November 19, 2010 at 5:52 amSuch a bummer that you won’t be running. That is the saddest part about the post. (even though we’ve known for a while.) I hope you’re healing quickly!
That skirt is way too cute to just run in. I mean really, I could wear it anywhere! It’s such a classy black and white!
Rita says
November 19, 2010 at 5:54 amLOL at Helen.
You should start a line of tutu-running skirts, Miz.
I’d wear this to lift weights since I’m not a runner.

November 19, 2010 at 6:31 amAdoreable running skirt! Alas, it is sad that you cannot participate in your Vegas race. : ( There’s always next year!
I love running skirts and this one would be absolutely perfect for my anniversary (wedding – 10 years in May) first half marathon! That’s right! I ran my 10K at the MCM last month and am ready for my first half! My husband is going to run it with me. He would have run the 10K, but was involved in running his first full marathon while I was running my race!
Yes, it would be a great anniversary race present!
Thank you Carla for your ever present generosity and sharing of the gifts!
Luckily, you can always don the tutu at any time with the Tornado!

November 19, 2010 at 7:27 amI would love to win this running skirt. I bought my first running skirt at Target. I didn’t try it on, and it was WAY too big. I only wore it once before I gave it to a friend. If I won this skirt, I’d wear it in my next race; a 10 miler in Dalton, GA.

November 19, 2010 at 8:50 amWell I would definitely run in it — I always run in skirts when it’s warm enough 🙂
(And actually, a lot of my running pants have skirts attached, too!)
If it proves to be one of my favorites, then I’d race in it too. Gotta be comfortable!
So sad you won’t be able to do Vegas. I’ll be bedazzling a running skirt for the occasion. I’ll make sure to take pictures!
Shelly says
November 19, 2010 at 8:52 amOoh, I would probably wear it everywhere. I’ve been dying for a running skirt….really. Probably not to church, but definitely to the grocery store. 🙂

November 19, 2010 at 9:06 amI think the running skirt is the greatest invention since, well, inventions. I have one, but need another. The Tuxedo is so very cute that I might never take it off!
I am sorry that you are not able to use it for yourself.

November 19, 2010 at 9:36 ami’m anticipating a very celebratory event in our household- our first ever mother/daughter 10K! my daughter has watched me train and run a bunch of races, and has resisted the idea for herself. but after her first duathalon (her swim team coach got them to run and swim! love that guy) she’s hooked and has agreed to run the cap 10K with me. yea!! she’s 10 and is starting to do that pre-teen ‘mom is lame’ thing so this feels like an introduction to a new type of connection for the two of us. i’m trying not to let her see how goofily giddy this makes me…. wouldn’t want to scare her off 🙂
Leah says
November 19, 2010 at 9:46 amI would wear the skirt for the rehearsal dinner for my son’s wedding in December. The prospective in laws already think I’m a freak and I want to continue to affirm their beliefs, however mistaken.

November 19, 2010 at 9:48 ami’d totally rock that on race day!

November 19, 2010 at 9:50 amSo sorry you won’t be running. How about a blog one day about the history of the tutu in the Mizfit sensibility? As for the tuxedo skort, I’ve never tried one of these exercising but I’m game. Very mundane — I’d wear it to the Y and then it would undoubtedly make it’s way to the local library, supermarket and possibly school events (ie mom hadn’t yet found time to change).
Jennifer Burgett says
November 19, 2010 at 9:52 amI would love that skirt!!! I would wear it in my next race!!!

November 19, 2010 at 9:59 amI would run my first half marathon in it, provided it stood up to “testing” in my training runs! And if not, it’s cute anyways, so I’d wear it to the beach in the summertime with my sister’s kids!

November 19, 2010 at 10:34 amOooo! I run in that! Most likely it would end up in my “everyday” clothing, though. I call it “clothing migration” when my fitness wear miraculously grows legs and integrates itself into my regular wardrobe! 😀

November 19, 2010 at 11:29 amHi Mizfit!
You rock the skirt – I love it. I would wear it to spin class, go into position 3 and sprint like a maniac not caring who may or may not be seeing my cellulite because I OWN this body and I’m working really hard to appreciate it.
It, in turn, appreciates when I don great attire and the mind/body connection of confidence comes full-circle. A circle made complete with a great skirt!

Great looking little skirt.

November 20, 2010 at 12:07 amI see myself in the skirt

The miles pass and the compliments fly
I already feel that runners high.
I’m not into tennis, baseball or cheer
I love to run cute and without fear
I know I’m hot
I know I’m fast
I know its all in my head alas.
But when I wear a tuxedo skirt
I run far and fast
and finish muddy sweaty and covered in dirt.

I really enjoy your blog. 🙂

November 20, 2010 at 10:02 pmI’ve been working so hard this last year on my quads and calves not to EVENTUALLY show of my legs, right? Hiding under cropped exercise garb can’t go on forever, so maybe the Disney Priness Half I’d like to run in 2012 would be a perfect occasion for a Tux? And a pair of pink, sparkly, Mini-Mouse ears.
