To my surprise Kinder-Tornado still ADORES her some Mamma Chia!
We are longtime fans of chia up in herre.
But I wont lie to you.
It was a love affair whose spark had dimmed.
Significantly.
Im not sure when it happened—-but I slowly returned to my flaxseed-loving ways & Ren Man & Tornado followed.
And then Mamma Chia entered the scene.
(here’s where I stop to clarify this was a personal discovery. Mama Chia never approached me to write about them & I approached them for the giveaways)
Mamma Chia with their drink that looks, to this misfit eye, as though you’re drinking the innards of a tomato.
The gluten-free, vegan, high fiber, loaded with 2000 mg of omega-3, high in antioxidants, only 110 calorie innards of a tomato:
And yes.
This misfit could NOT resist trying it.
What did I love about Mamma Chia?
- Great googly moogly everything. The taste. The four different fabulous flavors. The healthiness. The informative website. The fact they give back to the community. The kindaWEIRDNESSofitall. Everything.
What might you not like about Mamma Chia?
- The price. Mamma Chia isnt cheap (Approximately 2.50 a bottle. All depends on finding on sale etc), however, Im not one to skimp on health. A generic brand diet soda is only 50 cents. You do the HEALTH MATH.
What did the Tornado think of Mamma Chia upon first sip? (30 second video clip below)
She loved it so much, in fact, she ambushed greeted Ren Man EARLY the next morning with another bottle.
A pre-coffee good sport Ren Man (29 second video clip below):
Bottom line:
- Mama loves her some Mamma Chia.
- The Tornado now brings Mamma Chia in her kinder-lunch!
- I
pleaded for moreinquired about procuring some Mama Chia for YOU to try & the super generous brand said YES.
So, now it’s your turn.
Are you brave enough to join us in our looks-like-tomato-innards-tastes-like-heaven love?
One USA-type will win a bottle of each of the four flavors (cherry lime, raspberry passion, blackberry hibiscus, & cranberry lemonade) & the lovely little Mamma Chia fold-up totebag pictured below:
Winner announced 11.28.11
FTC? I boughts my own Mamma Chia.

November 21, 2011 at 5:55 amYou know, I would love to try it. Even after all these years of reading the Miz, I have not worked up the nerve to try the chia. I have problems with flax seed, and I’ve just been reluctant (that’s how you spell scared, right?) to go spend the money on chia and find I have problems with it, too.
However, a giveaway I would totally try. TOTALLY.
And on a side note, your family is absolutely adorable. Just, you know, in case you hadn’t noticed. 🙂

November 21, 2011 at 9:57 amWhat great timing! Hubby and I are looking for more ways to get good veggies in our diet since it’s winter and most leafy greens are out of season. We put chia in our protein smoothies and I add them to my afternoon yogurt snack. I’d love to try these drinks. If your kinder drinks them then I’d bet I could get at least one of mine to drink it, too. Fun!!!

November 22, 2011 at 10:32 amYou crack me up. “Looks like tomato innards!”
Actually, tomato innards are quite a bit more attractive than my morning beverage, which is a brownish gray smoothie, but it’s amazing what you get used to in terms of aesthetics if the taste is good enough.
Great to hear there’s a new healthy option out there!
