As a personal trainer there are a few conversations I find myself having with clients over and over.
One of those conversations often goes something like this:
Me: “How did your exercise go this week?”
Client: “Not bad”
Me: “Were you able to stick to your plan each day?”
Client: “Most days. But there were a few when I just didn’t have any time.”
No time.
And I know it’s not just my clients who face the “no time” problem.
In fact, a lack of time is routinely cited as the #1 reason most people don’t exercise more frequently. You’re busy. I’m busy. Many days there really is little time for a trip to the gym.
That’s what I love about Carla & Roni’s #wycwyc concept.
Instead of adopting a defeatist attitude that says, “I’m busy, therefore I can’t” #wycwyc encourages us to remember that “Even if I have just 5 minutes, I can.”
I recently began preparing #wycwyc workouts for my clients and they love them!
Each workout is easily modified to suit any fitness level, and you can extend or shorten these routines depending on how much time you have available.
The one I want to share with you to today is based on Tabata training. It uses quick (as in 20-second), high-intensity bursts of exercise followed by even shorter (10-second rest periods).
This particular workout is intended to be done in 6 minutes – Seriously, that’s all you need.
Will you join me for a #wycwyc Tabata workout right now?

September 25, 2015 at 5:21 amI love Tabata workouts! My husband introduced those to me a few years ago. I also love the idea of #wycwyc, because its true we don’t always have 30 consecutive minutes to ourselves. Great Post!

September 25, 2015 at 8:21 amYou’re so right Lucie – we don’t “have” 30 consecutive minutes, nor do we always need it. Sometimes quick-and-done is all it takes!

September 25, 2015 at 5:39 amLove this! I used to make myself lift weights for 7 minutes at a time. Why 7? I don’t know, but it was enough time to get a few things in but not so much that it messed with my schedule. I really need to get back to that, so I’m going to do this little work out as a start!

September 25, 2015 at 12:28 pmI’ve always wondered what Tabata it is and will give this one a try. I might only make it through three minutes of it, but I will try.

September 25, 2015 at 5:27 pmI get up at four and out the door by 4:30 and am work by 7. I have time because I make the time. And a 5-6 min. workout won’t “cut it” for competing in my next triathlon…but thanks anyway!

September 27, 2015 at 2:11 pmYESSS to #wycwyc workouts!! I’m a full time personal trainer and don’t always have an hour or two straight to dedicate to workouts. 10 minutes here and there have been common, lately.
