I’m happily, happily average and have absolutely no plans to try and change that in 2016.

January 8, 2016 at 7:37 amEarly on in our relationship, my hubby wrote me a piece called “In Praise of my Mediocrity”- he is anything but that in my eyes but to realize that we are not all “awesome” and “winners” (like most are told these days on a daily basis) is a good thing I think. I never over-praised my kid and she has become a hard worker and only wants to make others’ lives better. Too many kids today are told they are “smart”, “awesome”, and a myriad of other platitudes which aren’t true, only to grow up “average” and thus unhappy as adults. Medals and trophies for all involved have not been a good thing. (My opinion).

January 8, 2016 at 2:29 pmWe all excel at certain things and suck at others. Averaging those together means that we are all equally average.
