The golden rule of vlogging (aka video blogging) is never to exceed two minutes.
We’re all busy.
We’re all skimming rushed.
You lose your audience.
That important message presented I give you some long ass vlogs Kelly Olexa and I filmed at Blog World.
Indeed they’re (fingerquote) too long (unFQ), but despite the fact we’ve broken the rules the videos are jam-packed with info.
And laughs.
And bloopers.
And my cell phone ringing.
And my inexplicably working out in flip-flops.
Got 10-15 minutes on your hands? PLEASE TO ENJOY.
Rushing off to start your Monday? PLEASE TO BOOKMARK.

November 14, 2011 at 8:17 amI love it when you incorporate video into your posts. You’re one of those people who exudes goodness and positivity and getting a dose of it through video is awesome. Good tip on keeping things under 2 minutes. I also agree that videos like these should be raw and be done in one take. If the phone rings or someone walks into the shoot….go with it.
Great post today, Carla.

November 14, 2011 at 8:49 amOMG you two are too cute. This is awesome girl. That is one thing I always tend to kinda freak out about when I go on vacation (ya I know I haven’t been on one in 4 years) is not working out for 2 to 7 days.

November 14, 2011 at 10:07 amNice (so far.) How did you do videos with Kelly and keep them down to 7-15 minutes?
When I know I’m travelling, I lift hard and heavy for the several days before I leave-then use my travel time for rest and recovery. Floor exercises for core and stability moves and I’m gravy!

November 14, 2011 at 7:14 pmTraveled in a sleeper car across country with my three year old for DAYS and still managed to find enough room for pushups/situps and lots of stretching. That was in 1989, This is 2011. Huh.

November 14, 2011 at 7:15 pmBy the time it took to make the three vids I would have already been back from my 4 mile run and a dip in the hotel pool/jacuzzi!

Melissa says
November 15, 2011 at 10:22 pmLove the videos! Keep up the good work…I find resistance bands and my trusty kettlebell to be great traveling partners for getting a quick workout when needed. If I am in a rush the kettlebell swing is my “go to” exercise…works the core and so much more in one simple to perform routine!
