you get the presents (see? arent you glad you couldnt afford to didnt go to Blogher).
To know me in real life is to be exceedingly fortunate & cursed all at the same time know that I love giving gifts.
Love.
Far more than I enjoy even being on the receiving end in that I adore the selection process.
(I know. Cut to the chase. To the freebie. Im getting there.)
As a result I decided to skip the links today and focus only on the love.
Your love for this first freebie? ALREADY ESTABLISHED.
My love for the WIN detergent was further reinforced when they agreed to donate another container of their stank remover to our sweaty group. (which, since they sponsor the Olympians, almostpractically makes us all sponsored athletes, right?!)
Ive tried it. I love it. Our own Meribeth won some, tried it, SHE LOVED IT.
You can be entered to try some for the lowlow price of a comment below (sigh. I know. the giveaways are for the american folks only. please to know Im working *hard* to rectify that.)
Our next birthday freebie is this. (and thats how we know that I like to GIVE as Im not keeping this shit DVD for myself).
If youre in California I urge you to check out the YAS studio/classes (Ive never been there but Im so YASmazed at their generosity I know it has to be good!) *and* if youre hard up for a comment-to-be-entered I urge you to browse their shop & GUESS what else MizFit HEARTS there.
(and what else MizFit will have as a freebie for you down the proverbial road. we cant do it all today!)
Our next freebie is from a blogger I know that we all loveadmire&wannabeBFFswith (yeah I said it.)
The amazing Leslie has donated a copy of her book Locker Room Diaries & shall autograph it for the winner (Leslie? can s/he specify what she wants you to say? that might be fun…).
In a serious vein, this book is amazing. If you havent read it—-even if you dont win—–you need to.
This next freebie may APPEAR to veer off wildly if youre new to MizFit—-but it is a fave of mine and, judging by your blogs, of yours as well.
(and how old school is that video?! but I digress…)
This company has generously donated a box of their flax paks (HOW COOL is the portability of the paks? I adore that.)
Carrington Farms also sells the seeds in bigger bags & quite possibly has one of the best taglines ever: healthy foods for a healthy soul.
Check em out as you mightcould be just like Renaissance Man and have a wife who forces you to bring a box to work so that you never forget yer important omega 3’s.
The final two freebies are from magazines we all adore and which work PERFECTLY together as they both have the same mission of a healthier fitter more BALANCED us.
The first sent this sweet birthday email:
Happy Birthday MizFit! Hopefully our little gift brings your readers a year of healthy living and clean eats.
Improving your life one meal at a time.—– Your friends at Clean Eating magazine
And, along with their email, they sent ten free subscriptions.
But really, People, if you dont win you should check em out & pony up the 12.00—–you wont regret it.
And Experience Life Mag? What more can we say beyond a holla of love to a magazine which doesnt waste precious pages on the proper make-up to wear to the gym or how to make yer arse look best whilst using the elliptical just in case your future spouse is on the treadmill directly behind you.
They simply are as they purport to be: Your road map toward real and lasting self-improvement.
(not to mention we all adore this blogger’s writing style)
For the low low price of a comment below you can be entered to win your very own Experience Life magazine subscription. (and yes. as with Clean Eating I urge you, should you not win, to buy yourself a subscription. You deserve it!)
Whew. That’s it, MizFits. Im out and off to enjoy the day.
please to comment away.
Edited to say (and you may need to click on it to properly appreciate) THANKS Marianne for the CHIA CAKE!

PS. I was cracking up about the comment about forcing Renaissance Man to take his omega 3’s w/ him to work π That is exactly what my mother does to my dad (she grinds it up and puts it in tupperware for him ha) AND i’m sure once i move in w/ my future hubby that I will be doing the same ha… all in good health, right!

July 18, 2008 at 12:21 pmHappy Birthday, girl!! Hope your day is a super-blast.
I love me some ground flax. In fact, I was actually planning to head to the Target today to re-stock on that and soymilk. I put it on cereal, oatmeal, and mix it in with yogurt, but I’ve also heard that you can sprinkle it on salads and on top of steamed veggies. Mmm, mmm.
Anyway, it’s so generous of you to give away presents when you are the one who deserves all the gifts. Love all the great links. I found a link on Jen’s blog at Experience Life, where she talks about balanced strength ratios between quads and hamstrings and how it can affect knee pain- hello, that is just what I needed! It also mentions that tight hip flexors can lead to low back-pain. This is like an answered prayer, and you MizFit were the mediator. You are Heaven-sent!
(BTW to Jen, I was LOL at the Posterior-Chain Barbie comment)
Any of those freebies would be welcomed with open arms, so I’m crossing my fingers. = )

July 19, 2008 at 6:39 amhappiest birthday wishes (one day late).
i wanted to thank you for your suggestions … i have been contracting my stomach muscles and seriously upping the calories and protein. hello morningstar farms breakfast patties, i love you. i’m on the look out for the pea protein. next thing you know, i’ll be dead lifting with the meat heads. love it.
and, since i’m a day late, does that exempt me from freebies? π

July 19, 2008 at 9:32 amWow! I just found you through Roni’s site and I have to say I am sooo excited about finding this blog! I expect I will be reading your past posts over the next few days and catching up on all of this great info! I have Type II diabetes and have seen a trainer to try and get very fit and hopefully continue to stay off insulin and (dare I dream) get off of some of my meds. Happy birthday to you and thanks for doing this site–it’s really a gift for me!

July 19, 2008 at 9:43 amWow, I absolutely love your site and Happy late Birthday!! I love birthdays ♥, Wish I would have known you sooner, I love making cards!
Wow, it’s a wonder what a comment will do to your day, my nutrition/recipe site is completely new and to have that kind of encouragement just makes me incredibly happy! I would love to guest chef post, that would be such an honor!! Just getting feedback on some recipes, just makes my day and the fact that someone would actually want me to guest post!
I can also already see that after reading some posts your site, I will defiantly be a current reader, it’s always nice to start making “blog friends” and to find blogs with similar interests!

But darn it woman, I AM at BlogHer running wildly around meetin’ and greetin’ and getting headache from all the talky women.
I STILL want to win something from you.
And I’m guessing you would love the skull v-back tank from YAS. oh, wait a minute I WANT that shirt.

I watched the flax seed video. I’ve been hearing people saying that flax seeds are very good for you for awhile now. I guess this is my cue to go to GNC and buy a pack.

July 19, 2008 at 7:26 pmAn extremely and exceptionally belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST WONDERFUL FITNESS-HEALTH-GENERAL WONDERFULNESS BLOGGER ON THE INTERNET! π How cool are you to be giving US presents?
And I just realized (cause, you know, I’m all ADD like that) that you share a birthday with one of my other favorite women on the planet – my mother. Must just be something about the day. π
Hope you had an amazingly wonderful, beautiful day that was just too fantastic for words. And many, many more. MWAH! (That’s a big birthday e-kiss, in case you couldn’t tell.) And birthday hugs too, of course.
V.
(And I’m not even just saying that because I really desperately want Leslie’s book, either. Honest. I’d say it all anyway. You know I would.) π

July 20, 2008 at 7:25 amA VERY, VERY, VERY happy belated birthday to you! Hoping all your dreams come true over this upcoming year.
Love the blog and I’ll be back (often).
I was so sorry not to have been able to make it out to the BlogHer conference this year … would have loved the opportunity to meet with you (and others) face-to-face. Alas, I’m already committed to a boot camp in LA next month, and being that I left my job 2-weeks ago to pursue my fitness/nutrition certifications, ummmm, funds are low (lol).
Next year, for sure!!

Happy Birthday fellow Cancer. And yes, I’ll come over and make some semi-healthy peanut butter cookies for you and Toddler Tornado. I have a Toddler Tornado too… she’s almost 19 months. How old is your’s? Luckily at this age, they are only a stage 2, not quite a house destroying Stage 4.
