Much to her chagrin MizFit doesnt travel as much as she used to (please to note I did say her chagrin. the airline industry & the other fliers are thrilled I’m keeping the Toddler Tornado at home. Im earning triple frequent flier miles on southwest if I agree to NOT move about the country).
If I were free to get out & about with the unencumbered set Id be all over this.
Now that we (the royal) travel so much for work and for play it seems that gone are the days of “eh Im on the road so Im just going to blow off my workout.”
For many of us (hello Renaissance Man!) that would mean we’d never get started.
I cant praise the athletic minded traveler enough. It provides information on cities (both US & international) ranging from where to stay (and if that resting place has a fitness center/outdoor trail etc. near by) where to eat and where to PLAY.
Next time you travel check it out OR, if youre MizFit-like, read about your own city! You never know what you’ll discover.
Speaking of cities, here are the top 20 healthiest as selected by Cooking Light magazine (they picked the ones which best fit their philosophy of eat smart, be fit, live well). Not surprisingly MizFit’s current city made the cut. Surprisingly, her hometown did the same!
Yours?
and—since we’ve done the obligatory on-topic fitness related trend-tidbit—-Im here to implore you.
To beg you feverishly on bended no-longer-twenty-year-old knee.
Let’s all band together and make THESE a hothothot new trend.
How freakin hilarious would that be?
MizFit plans to start pronto. My first application? Shopping list on Toddler Tornado’s belly.
You?

February 26, 2008 at 6:26 amThe hand tattoos are hilarious. But, embarassingly, I have been writing important notes on my hands for years. More quirky and accepted when you are a college student (as I was when I met the fabulous MizFit). Not so cute when you are a 30-something year old attorney as I am now. 🙂

I KNOW those tat’s were made just for you! I love them. (notice how “cool” I am that I called them “tat’s”.
Also, cracked me up with the triple miles. Now that is gooooood.
Going to go have some oat meal and FLAX!!!!!!!!!!!!

February 26, 2008 at 9:43 amShocked, blown away that the burgh made the list. Seriously, have they been there? You can’t find a salad in the city that isn’t topped with fries. I’ve never lived anywhere before where I had to ask them to hold the tomatoes (hate them) and the fries when I ordered a salad.
And Jules – how is the flax? I haven’t been able to find it shredded…need to order on line but my brain only retains the thought long enough to think it.
Love the to-do tats! I could use them right about now!

February 26, 2008 at 9:56 amJulie? I hereby deemeth you the Flax Queen (or, more honestly, the Flax Fanatic because MizFit HEARTS the alliteration). Go forth and wear your crown.
Michelle, I know! (about my place of birth) I guess it’s clintonesque in the “it depends on what their definition of eat smart, be fit, live well” is.

February 26, 2008 at 8:21 pmKC is #20. I think they just ran out of major cities.
Speaking of temporary tattoos–is there some trick to getting them to stay on for more than an hour or two? Lukie is quite frustrated with me. 🙂
