September 12, 2008 at 4:44 amThat ProCon website is pretty freakin’ cool.
Don’t know so much about the homemade deoderant – seems like it could be greasy and stainey.

September 12, 2008 at 5:25 amI gotta go with Christine on the deodorant thing, but I love that site! I found 12 rules of etiquette from the 1950s which I will print for my children. They will probably just laugh, but here’s hoping…
Are you bracing for the storm?
Friday and I’m Free at Last! I think. I hope. Probably not…

September 12, 2008 at 5:31 amMichael’s sells some edible writer pens – not sure if they are the same brand. My girls really had fun making cookies and writing on them for Valentines Day one year. The ink didn’t come out of them real easily though – you had to keep going over what you wrote/drew.

September 12, 2008 at 5:38 amalas I’m prolly with christine too——but think in this raging heat I may try it anyway.
And wander the ATX with nonsticky but slick&STICKY Pits.

And yep.
I’m bracing.
Which, in my case since I’m always Tornado Tense, means I simply need to tighten the lats a tad and I’m fully on high alert.

I keep thinking I’ll do a friday of ME READING and the Ren Man prancing across midline carrying a placard with the link scrawled across.
Like he’s one of the girls (women? what are they called/what’s the proper term?) from the WWE.
Perhaps when he gits his MANSKIRT workoutkilt to testdrive he’ll agree….

Excited now – because I know there will be spooky themed socks hitting the shops aaaany day now.
Anyone for pumpkin pie?

MizFit says
September 12, 2008 at 6:16 amnah on the pie.
YES on the pumpkin-shaped candy corn (*drool* HEART the corn).
And **YES** on the skull emblazoned OverTheKnee socks.

September 12, 2008 at 6:43 amThanks to Felice, I went back and reread the whole thing rapping it to myself and bursting into fits of giggles. Because I’m completely normal. So my Friday-morning-at-work-trajectory has been: 1) procon.com (nodding and mmmhmming as appropriate) …2) golden light meditation… 3) drowsiness … 4) wake-up rap. Things keep getting better and better!

September 12, 2008 at 6:55 amI would love to know how many are brave enough (bored enough?) to try out the homemade deodorant? I’d love it if your readers tried it out and gave you their reviews.
And–loved the poem. The Halloween link didn’t give me anything, or so I think, relevant to that day. Am I missing something?

September 12, 2008 at 7:00 amOkay, I just lost a lot of time on that pro/con site!! But in the Internet sense of time, at least I feel more educated. And scared for our country. And educated. Hmmm.
And it never even occured to me to make my own deodorant. It doesn’t look cheaper though. Craft time?

My Tornado insisted on being a girly skull for Halloween this year (what’s that you ask? I’ve nary a clue).
So I did tutu and leggings w/skulls and, while I was there, snagged her a skull print skirt just because 😉
But for the the masses it’s prolly a COOL CLOTHING link…

The Halloween link got me thinking…..some cute costumes for the kids? My mom is an awesome seamstress 😉 and she’s retired now so I may hit her up over some green tea.
As always……..your rhyming is just too cute 🙂 Have a great weekend. My mom and I are off to the boy’s school this morning for lunch and a grandparent’s day program. I’ll take pics and post about it later on today. Poor grandpa is sick 🙁

September 12, 2008 at 9:54 amWhere do you find all this stuff??? LOVE the CD barbell. Hey, you’re good at using household items as exercise equipment–maybe YOU can figure out a way to make a barbell with old cassette tapes?? (Wait, aren’t ALL cassette tapes old now?)

September 12, 2008 at 10:44 amseriously…can i do the air freshener? Other readers? Is that a super cute costume or am I deluding myself? This will be baby’s FIRST ever Halloween get-up.
T says
September 12, 2008 at 10:44 ammizfit linked to this danny seo’s site last friday for the dumbbells. you could probably do the same thing with cassette tapes using two of those rods. the only problem … they’d be a bit harder to grasp.
maybe melt them down into a giant plastic blob and make your own kettlebell?
i don’t know.
to tokaiangel – i <3 pumpkin pie. and candy corn. i’m already breaking into the candy corn. i can’t help it – it’s my one and only candy weakness. i justify it saying that i can only eat it one season of the year (fall). brach’s is the bomb.
and thanks for the link love, mizfit! that cd dumbbell/barbell was surprisingly easy to make. the worst part was twisting the stupid nuts onto the rod.

September 12, 2008 at 11:13 amAlready checking out Halloween costumes here, too. Gotta get em while they still have plenty of sizes available.
Always enjoy your poetry. Hope the hurricane isn’t too nasty in your area. The heat? Oy. It’s only in the mid 80s today but humid as hades and I was used to the 70s already. Bummer.
LOVE candy corn. I’m the only one in our family who does, so I always get the little packets handed out at trick ‘r treat time.
Would candy corn be a good long-run fuel?! If jelly beans are, why not? I need to look into that, ASAP.

September 12, 2008 at 11:20 amHm. I dunno about that deodorant. Though I bet the shea butter would make my pits super-soft. (*snerk* I said “PITS!”)
But I LOVE the pro-con site. I see my day wasting away before my very eyes – but boy will I be set to argue with folks now! LOL
MizFit says
September 12, 2008 at 11:59 amwhy do I think that someone (t?) is really gonna make a kettle bell out of melted cassettes.
Not me.
I still treasure my michael jackson, devo, dead milkmen, & billy joel too much to melt.
For now anyway.
Until we’re homebound for a few days thanks to Ike.
Then I may reconsider….
M.
T says

September 12, 2008 at 12:59 pmThis timing could not be better! I just cleaned out storage and found a bunch of old casettes I don’t need. The question is, how brave am I? Will this count as my daily thing I’m afraid of, or is it just stupid and dangerous??? I’ll let y’all know if anything happens.
I normally like making my own products whenever possible, but I’m so happy with my crystal that I probably won’t try this anytime soon.
