Happy NATIONAL PEANUT BUTTER MONTH!
We’re nothing if not a smidge October 2008 here in Austin, Texas (read: this morning is our Race for the Cure) but up in MizFit? We’re all about the November.
No matter your age please to make time to enjoy some Peanut Butter Playdough this month!
Create. Craft. And then indulge in a sweettreat laden with good fats.
DIZCLAIMER: Im totally married to an attorney who forced me to add this and I love him/being married so I happily complied. Should you enjoy the ‘dough as we did here be sure you/any of the other playingparticipants do not have a nut allergy. thank you.

November 2, 2008 at 5:36 amPB – the natural stuff – is like a staple for me! I think I could live on it… Making playdough with it…hmmm….play with it, and then get to eat it too – sounds like a winner to me!

November 2, 2008 at 6:35 amOh we are BIG PB fans! My son could live on PB & J sandwiches. Oh who am I kidding, he does!! π Thanks for the support on the Halloween candy Miz! π
So can I ask if anyone will be making the PB play dough with PB2? What do people use that for?

November 2, 2008 at 6:38 amWe ate a teeny piece of peanut-butter chocolate cheesecake to celebrate our 5th but it wasn’t made out of peanutbutter playdough. We love peanut butter!
Talked to a woman yesterday who’s daughter is allergic. Mom ate peanuts, kissed daughter on cheek. Daughter’s cheek swelled up like a bee sting. She carries an epi pen. This allergy is no joke. I even heard that Jimmy Carter had a peanut allergy. (that may not be true).
I hope you find a cure along the race. We could sure use one up in heerre (as you might say). Have fun!
Lori says
November 2, 2008 at 6:43 amI don’t know how it started but my daughter loves learning what all the phobias are (and pronouncing them) so we have been hearing about arachibutyrophobia for a few years now!
Good thing I didn’t have that recipe when my kids were younger or I might have been eating their playdough. I love peanut butter and the reason I don’t make cookies as often as everyone would like, I eat too much of the dough!!

November 2, 2008 at 7:12 amI, too, am now a believer in PB in my oatmeal. Unfortunately PB consumes lots of WW points. DANG! I just go easy and still get to enjoy.
Anyone else feeling wonky already with the time change?
Am working on a plan to get to Chicago next weekend – yo, miz – Sunday brunch, please!

November 2, 2008 at 7:39 amIf you avoid peanut butter because of the points, try Better n’ Peanut Butter.. . it doesn’t come in crunchy, but the smooth is pretty good and it’s half the calories, half the fat, and half points! 2 T = 2 PTs
Hubby just shared with me an old joke. It’s funnier with the visuals of the hand effects, (and tastier if you actually demonstrate. . . but we won’t go there!) but I think you can invision it.
There are 3 ways to get peanut butter off the roof of your mouth:
You can blow it off. But that doesn’t work.
You can spit it out. But that doesn’t work.
Or you can scrape it out with your finger.
Now, there are 3 ways to get peanut off your finger.
You can blow it off. But that doesn’t work.
You can shake it off. But that doesn’t work.
Or you can lick it off.
Now, there are 3 ways to get peanut butter off the roof of your mouth. . . .

November 2, 2008 at 8:49 amI JUST finished eating my morning 2 tbsp of peanut butter when I came across this post… I always thought that November was one of the most frustrating months of the year because its cold and all, but it has now become one of my favourites!
Love peanut butter. Love love.
And that playdough looks amazingly delicious!

November 2, 2008 at 8:55 amLove the PB. We get the stuff that’s ground from peanuts right before our eyes. Excellent on toast with a bowl of oatmeal or with a few raisins on the side as a very early morning blood sugar bump. The birds get the commercial PB in their cage feeder. The woodpeckers will get right into this PB month business.

November 2, 2008 at 10:37 amWell darn I didn’t see your challenge in time, the kids creations are pretty much all eaten already lol. Son does have two in the fridge that he plans on carting to school to show his buddies tomorrow but the rest are in their bellies lol. The said it was so great that they wanted to do it every weekend. They were using their halloween candies as decorations too. I didn’t use PB2 so I only tasted a pinch of it but pretty darn tasty I must say. Thanks for the great idea we had a blast. Even the 16 yr old got into it lol.

get thou PB2
its powdery goodness?
SO DANG GOOD FOR YOU!
sure it’s just peanuts
all dried up and jarred.
but the ease of its TRANSPORT?
it’s shocking! GOOD LAWRD!
I use it at home
in baking and such
(if youd ask the Ren Man
He’d say it’s too much!)
I sprinkle in batter
when pancakes I make.
I sprinkle a’top
my smoothies & shake.
It’s BEST when I travel
I clearly must say.
I bring it for oatmeal
I get protein that way!
I mix it with water
in my hotel room.
cram it in my piehole
lifts the TOO CARBED gloom.
ok I have rambled
my thumbs they are tired.
I type from my handheld.
Im Miz SUPER WIRED.

November 2, 2008 at 7:48 pmI will eat ANY sort of peanut butter.
Except Skippy. Or Crunchy of any sort. Ever.
This playdough recipe reminds me of the PB they served in grade school. The PB was mixed with honey and spread on good ol’ Wonder Bread. They served it with vegetable soup on Wednesdays. I suffered through many a bowl of veggie soup for those sandwiches. π
Here’s a link folks might not have:

(sekeret message for Miz: I think my fax machine must have eaten the list. Yeah, that’s it. Another weekend, perhaps.)

November 3, 2008 at 6:54 amNational Peanut Butter Month, my birthday, AND Thanksgiving? What a wonderful world we live in!!!
I so didn’t know you were participating in the Race for the Cure. How very cool (and to walk with your fam-gotta love that… this year I “ran” with the Hubs and my sister, and it was a blast!).
About the playdough, I don’t know if I even dare try it. Back in college my roommates and I made a batch of chocolate chip cookie dough, and didn’t bake a single cookie, if you know what I mean (that makes 6-7 dozen balls of dough that were in our tummies, mmmmm).

November 3, 2008 at 9:27 amI’m not allergic. I just don’t like peanut butter. I find it amusing that there’s a whole month devoted to it…I wonder if it’s falling out of style form all the allergies. I hope that cheese gets a month sometime too, or I call shenanigans. Altho not the same month. Cheese and peanut butter do not go together.
*ahem* amyways…
The playdough is brilliant. Kids are going to eat playdough anyways…better this than a bunch of salt π
I wonder if it would work with some other nut butter so I could eat…I mean play with it too? hmm…
