subtitle: one of those items where I initially wondered do we really need this?! & then, after trying it, I thought why couldnt I have had this sooner?? kind of like MizFitOnline.com.
I know you all watch Jillian/The Biggest Loser like it’s yer job (dont lie to me, People. I read your emails).
And, if you were doing your job properly, you watched with envy when Jillian bestowed upon workout partnerless Colleen the Motorola MOTOROKR s9-HD headset.
(miss that episode? look here!)
Yeah, I was jealous.
Not only because Colleen got her own Jillian workout & I didnt (I later found the workout here for free), but because I’m renown for getting all kinds of cordtangled when I attempt to wear my iopd while taking the dog out to crap running for many, many miles.
And, you know how we roll around here, if *I* struggle with something then I like to think ALL YA’LL struggle with it as well.
Please to enjoy.
Please to hit us up in the comments.
Please to make this (good) tired MizFit laugh with your tales of cordtangles or of cordfree longing.

Full disclosure: Yes I love these newfangled headphones. Yes they are beyond great for working out & make it easier since you’re never tangled in wires.
My fave way to use them? I strut around the house, ipod-in-jean’s-pocket, blasting the tunes (now! wirefree! no! emcumberance!) while I clean.
Kinda sad? sure.
Really true? Fo’ shizzle.
**winner will be announced Friday December 5th. in rhyme.**

December 2, 2008 at 2:08 amOh girl, I sooo need these! Everytime I try and put my Iphone on the workout machine, it ends up flying off when I get into my workout and how embarrassing is that, to have to get off…find it, get back on…hehe, well you get the picture.
This Giveaway ROCKS, thanks for the chance!
I’m also having a giveaway that ends Friday if you get a chance to check it out! Have a happy day 🙂

December 2, 2008 at 2:14 amNo fun stories – just tangled wires in the purse! OH, I get my headphones yanked out of my ears all the time because I use them at work and forget about them being plugged into my computer. Yes, I try to walk away with them still connected. I think you’d need to be there to get the full extent though.
Thank goodness you don’t need to have common sense to get your PhD!
By the way, I’m so jealous! I’d use them all the time – ipod, computer, etc. so that I don’t keep on getting yanked around by the stupid cord!

December 2, 2008 at 2:26 amlow numbers, low numbers with that random number generator!
man, i would LOVE these. i literally avoid the treadmill (vs elliptical) more often than not because I a) gotta have my tunes, b) do not have an armband, and c) everytime i try to take my armband-less ipod on the treadmill it inevitably falls off, hits the tread causing it to fly around, hit somewhere else. luckily i have a good case for it! but yeah, no good.
i narrowly missed a contest for these on thatsfit.com, and then they were giving them away in the biggest loser challenge like the very next week. these things are so close…yet so far away…and SO awesome!

December 2, 2008 at 2:28 amOhohoh, I have a silly story! I have a very old mp3 player that is actually a hand-me-down from a friend. It’s fairly small and is basically the size of a “fun size” chocolate bar. Because I am too cheap and lazy to find a better way to do it, I usually just tuck it in the waistband of the pants I have on at the gym. One fateful instance, at the gym, not only did the player keep sliding down on my hip but it actually wrenched free of the waistband, tumbled down my leg inside the pants, the headset got yanked and the mp3 player was sent flying half way across the cardio area as it exited at the bottom of my leg and received a good kick from my continuing running. Embarassing!

December 2, 2008 at 2:30 amhaha, i love listening to my ipod while cleaning. it’s kinda relaxing! these days mostly i listen to it as i’m walking to class in the mornings. and at the gym. i actually named my ipod…
anyway, my headphone wires often twist together like up to my neck so i look like that KFC guy. with the uncomfortable-looking bowtie.

December 2, 2008 at 3:15 amWhat a great product to give away!!
I do lunges with combo bicep curls and military press, so as I come down to lunge and extend my arm, the cord gets caught up on the barbell, pulls out my earphones and the rest of the rep i’m stuck doing lunges with my headphones hanging down to the floor. There’s not time to stop for headphone faux pas!
Have a great day!

December 2, 2008 at 4:38 amI have trouble with getting the cords untangled as I pull it out of my gym bag. How does that happen? I’ve also yanked them out of my ear while I’m walking on the treadmill and I manage (somehow) to get my arm tangled in the cord. YIKES! and OW!
Thanks for the links to the BL podcasts I’ve downloaded those! 🙂

December 2, 2008 at 4:49 amOn my HIIT walk I pulled the cord out of the ear piece and the ear piece was still on my ear! I guess the sweating got the best of me! I hate cords around my face and ears. I don’t like things touching me there…….it’s a wonder I can even wear earrings.

December 2, 2008 at 5:05 amOn three occassions I have been seen lying on the gym floor feeling around underneath a moving treadmill with another person running on it, looking for my Pod which has just flown off me mid-run.

December 2, 2008 at 5:50 amWhen I saw this awesome gadget on BL, I immediately had envy. I signed up for my first half marathon and am seriously scared out of my mind. I don’t know what I was thinking. But I have always wanted to attempt a half so why not now? (Farthest race was a 5K) Anyhow, I need my tunes to keep me motivated and avoid boredom.
I wonder if I could frame the packaging for artwork on the wall by my treadmill. Hmmmmm That would be some motivation.
Thanks for the awesome giveaway! You rock!

December 2, 2008 at 6:08 amThese are such a great idea! I know my husband and I would be fighting over these! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been running on the treadmill looking like, well the professional runner I am, and have almost fallen off the treadmill becuase I hit my headphones cord and ripped it right out of the machine. hahah. I bet is funny to watch!

December 2, 2008 at 6:10 amHow did I not know these existed?! I need them. When lifting weights I am constantly moving the wires back and forth over my head so depending on what weights I am doing they are not getting caught up. And when I’m running I somehow manage to yank them out of my ears as my arm gets tangled with the wire.

December 2, 2008 at 6:15 amMy ipod’s name is Cherry. I am so uncordinated it’s not funny. I have tried threading the stupid cord from the bottom, through the arm, and even tucking it between the girls. And even worse? I have to wear very ugly over the ear buds because my ear canals are very small and even the tiniest of ear buds pop out when I move my jaw (and we know this jaw is always flapping).
MizFit says
December 2, 2008 at 6:15 amand lori that’s exactly why I don’t lift with music.
How sad is it that I really just put that all together inthismoment with your comment.
I’d convinced myself I wasn’t a music-lifter.

December 2, 2008 at 6:17 amThe problem with my head phones (besides the fact that they are ancient and the padding is peeling off everywhere) is the length of the dang cord. I have to wrap it about 10 times around my tiny little iPod Nano in order to keep it from getting tangled in my arms while I’m running. Quite annoying when I go to skip a song or turn up the volume and a jumble of cord is in my way! I look quite amusing trying to work through my mess while still keeping a steady pace walking/jogging.
Lynn says
December 2, 2008 at 6:29 amMy headphone cord always seems to be in a knot when I go to use it. Or when I’m on the treadmill or the elliptical my hand gets tangled in the cord and pulls it out. Hope I win these would be really nice to have.

December 2, 2008 at 6:37 amI don’t even have an ipod i’m still using my mp3 which when i put it in my pocket i turn off by mistake all the time!! And don’t get me going on the wires or trying to keep the buds in my ears. I wasn’t given the right shape of ears i swear 🙂

December 2, 2008 at 6:37 amI don’t even own an ipod (!!!) but my daughter would think I was the best mum in the whole wide world if I got her these for Christmas, and it would lessen my maternal anxiety that she’s going to rip the earrings out of her lobes when she goes on her jogs.
AT22 says
December 2, 2008 at 6:41 amI am constantly pulling the buds out of my ears because I have gotten tangled on the cord. Once I pulled the whole darn thing off of me doing push presses – caught the cord on the up movement and yanked it right out! You just don’t know what to do when you are holding a barbell above your head and you’ve just mangled your mp3 player!
Do they cause weird electro-waves because of the wireless? You know what they say about cell phones and those little hands-free things…well, what some people say.
Great tip — I didn’t know these even existed, although I have hoped — and giveaway!
Nita says
December 2, 2008 at 6:43 amI hate going to the gym, throwing my mp3 player onto my arm, then having to thread the cord through my sleeve, up through the neckline, pull the excess down by my stomach, then always having to fight too much poking up through the neckline, not enough up through the neckline so the earbuds are pulled out.
Yeah, wireless sounds delightful.

December 2, 2008 at 7:01 amCordless headphones?!? I thought these were just a figment of my imagination!
Number of times a day that I get my arm stuck in cord = 7. Number of times a day that I accidentally unplug the cord when walking past stationary objects (like, say, my chair or a filing cabinet) = 10.
Random question! It’s getting really dry and static-y around here lately, and the buildup has been causing little electrical shocks to occur in my ears through my ipod ear buds. Anyone else have this happen, or am I just an electrical freak of nature?

December 2, 2008 at 7:23 amI don’t have a lot going for me in the “hip, cool chick” factor when it comes to exercising. Let’s face it – I’m 45, STILL hugely overweight after losing 50 pounds, and so uncoordinated that after months of doing step-aerobics on my WiiFit I still cannot add the “clap hands” to the steps without getting off rhythm! These headphones would definitely make me look “with it” as I walk around my neighborhood blasting the Spice Girls in my ears!
Mara says
December 2, 2008 at 7:27 amI’ve given up trying to wear headphones while working out. Seriously. I love my iPod, and love listening to music while I walk/clean/cook… but i have funny shaped ears and i’m fairly uncoordinated. The iPod standard headphones fall out of my ears. Then my arm gets stuck in the cord, I yank the other one out, then I trip on the cords.
Graceful, I am not.

December 2, 2008 at 7:35 amHow did they not think of this sooner?!?!?!
Why cords suck:
1. They always swing back and forth in front of you when you run and you can’t help but stare at it, inevitably losing your balance and throwing yourself into the side of the treadmill in an attempt to save yourself from being flung 10 feet by the belt…..not a “gym glory” kind of moment.
2. If you’re an arm swinging power walker like I am at times, your arm always catches the cord and and either unplugs your tunes or even worse, flings your MP3 player onto the treadmill then you get to watch it fly 20 feet and crash into the wall behind you. Comical to most, crushingly embarassing to you.
Who needs em?

December 2, 2008 at 8:06 amI resort to dropping my mp3 player down my shirt to keep the cord from flying around. But then gravity pulls it down and pops the earbuds out. So then I wrap the cord under my sports bra strap (knew there was a reason I wear one of those!) to hold it up. It’s all very convoluted:) You rock that headset btw!
Anya says
December 2, 2008 at 8:18 amEveryones’ stories are so hilarious. As for cords, I don’t have any funny tangle stories as I’m with Charlotte. I learned to tolerate a cord plastered down my sweaty back under my shirt long ago because I’m such a spastic klutz. I also passed on the ipod for the same reason…electronics with moving parts never survive my special kind of love. Instead, I have a 6 year old iRiver. It’s been kicked, dropped down cement steps, sat on, and yes, hit by a lawn tractor and then spit out caked in wet grass, and it just keeps on ticking.

December 2, 2008 at 8:18 amI’ve just been lifting at home, with music blaring out of my shuffle. But frankly, I think I might be blessed/lucky in that I rarely get tangled up when work out.
That said I constantly get tangled up when dancing around my apartment in my underwear (Something about having the headphones on makes me less inhibited), so I’d totally use those for making an idiot of myself and hoping no one walks in.

December 2, 2008 at 8:25 amohmigod ohmigod ohmigod.
ok, i can barely contain in my body the fluttery excitement this contraption gives me. i can’t stand the ipod earbuds because my earholes expel them during my workouts. something about a tiny earhole or a sweaty ear, i’m not sure. (kind of gross, i know). so i use the behind the head type of outside-the-ear headphones that right before my 10k on thanksgiving day, i put on, only to notice a thousand little tangled knots in the wire. as i began to untangle them about 30 seconds before the race started, i realized the tangles were actually a good thing because it made the wire a little shorter, which would mean that it would be possible that i wouldn’t get my left arm all tangled up in it as the long wire flops around my swinging arm when i run. So, I left it alone and it actually bothered me less all tangled up. (brilliant!) however, I HATE THE WIRE! I FIGHT WITH IT EVERY SINGLE RUN! If I don’t win (but i must i must i must and I am using the power of the secret, I am secreting them in, I am picturing them on my head, I am picturing a nice long run with wireless headphones on my head) I will will will ask/beg Santa for these. Yay!

December 2, 2008 at 8:40 amThose look super cool!
The reason why I don’t listen to music when I work out is BECAUSE of those cords. They get tangled everywhere and fall out of my ears constantly. Actually ironically enough, I lost my headphones just a week ago (jeez, I’m not very good at keeping track of my stuff, am I?!)
And as for people talking on those phones- the number of times I’ve assumed they’re talking to me and started up a conversation with them, only to realize after about 5 minutes of talking that they aren’t talking to me at all, has happened more times than I care to admit!
Heather McD (Heather Eats Almond Butter) says
December 2, 2008 at 8:45 amI can’t tell you how many times I have talked back to someone while they’re on their blue tooth. It ALWAYS happens in the grocery store. For some reason, people cannot shop for pasta sauce without being on the phone. I swear it always happens in that aisle! Weird, no?
I must admit I don’t watch The Biggest Loser, but those headphones look really cool. I do sprint intervals and hill repeats on the treadmill, and I’ve just given up on wearing my iPod because the cords simply bounce everywhere. At my highest speed, I’m usually about to fly off the back of the machine. The last thing I need are cords swinging in my face.
Mizfit – your arms. They amaze me every time I see them. You look great.

December 2, 2008 at 8:54 amThese would be so great for running, especially now that it’s cold out (where I live). December 2, 2008 at 9:00 amI don’t think I have any funny stories, but I’m constantly getting tangled up in my wires. I wear my iPod while commuting to work, and especially in the winter I have to watch out for the cord when I’m taking my jacket off and on (even in the Metro, since it’s usually so warm in there that I take my coat off once I get in).
Heather says
December 2, 2008 at 9:02 amI’m boring. I really only use my iPod in my iHome. No cables involved. Somehow it’s harder for me to run with music blasting in my head.
But my hubby would be overjoyed. He’s always complaining about the cord bouncing around and pulling his iPod out of his pocket. December 2, 2008 at 9:10 amnita: i do the exact same thing…winding, weaving, tucking, all just so those suckers stay put! but alas, they never ever do. i dont know if my ears sweat abnormally, or i am too bouncy when i jog on the treadmill, but ~ every 45 seconds one/both falls right out. then they dangle and i’m finagling trying to put it back into my ear, all while still trying to look like a real runner. sigh…

December 2, 2008 at 9:17 amNow that’s a useful thing! I get tangled up when walking/running. Or, even if not tangled, the cord just annoys the heck out of me bouncing on my arm or whereever. Grr! Not to mention, it gets tangled all over the place. Sigh.

December 2, 2008 at 9:41 amMostly my issue is also the tangled headphones…and also when i run, i tend to wind up tangling them in my fingers or ripping the headphones either outta my IPOD or out of the jack on the television system at the gym…completely throws off my workout! 🙂

December 2, 2008 at 10:10 amPerhaps I don’t deserve to be entered into this contest. When I saw the headphone on the show I didn’t realize they could be used with an iPod or bluetooth. However….I do have a tangled story….
At the gym, listening to my iPod, walking on the treadmill I decide to turn up the speed because I’m feelin’ good, feelin’ fit, and I’m not holdin’ onto the treadmill any more. My arms pumpin’ in Oprah glory–the way she demonstrated on a show with Bob Greene years ago–the treadmill up to 3.7 now…WOW…my fastest ever. After 30 seconds or a little more it was a little too fast for my chubbo legs to keep up, my breathing was desperate, my arms pumping wildly managed to come down hard on my iPod wire. The iPod, once resting peacefully, on the ledge came crashing down on the treadmill belt and rolled off the back. I soon followed–ass in the air right off the back of the treadmill. I’m hyper-conscious now of the iPod wires and where they are when I do my oprah-arm pump. The headphones would be a great thaang to have. 🙂

December 2, 2008 at 10:23 amThe sad, sad tale of me and my headphones:
I do not know the reason (the general knotted nature of the wires when I yank them out of my gym bag? My cheap discount store purchase? my catching them on cardio equipment and in clothes?)
But
My headphones always develop an internal broken wire/connection somewhere rendering them unusable after a couple months. I replace headphones faster than I do gym shoes.
Headphones sans wires actually have a chance of surviving for longer than 3 months. (orcourse, I’d forget to zip the pocket they’re in and they will fall unseen to the floor and get lost. But they will still be working…)
Leslie says
December 2, 2008 at 10:31 amOoh, I actually have a funny cord-related story… I had a very unfortunate experience while attempting to adjust my ponytail and also holding my cheapo mp3 player in my hand. I stashed the mp3 player in my sports bra temporarily, and mid-run tried to fix my hair while running along a pretty busy road in my town. As I went to rescue to mp3 player it slipped and the cord went everywhere and somehow I basically ended up flipping my shirt up in attempt to grab it as it fell down my shirt and giving everyone on the road a lovely view of my very white belly and sports bra. This may not be traumatic for some, but I have loose skin on my tummy that bounces when I run and I really could have done without an entire crowd of people seeing it in action. Currently the cord is all bent and mangled and so sometimes I only hear sound in one ear.
giz says
December 2, 2008 at 10:41 amWow, they’re really that good huh? I find I don’t use my iPod nearly as much as I expected to, simply because of the cord issue. I even took the little clip off my old cellphone earpiece and tried using it to clip the iPod wire to my workout shirt… no help there, especially if the workout gets even a teeny bit vigorous. Like tisha (but I’m not as good at storytelling), I’ve often found the iPod ungracefully yanked off my hip when a pumping arm crosses the wire…
The other peeve: when the wire bumps itself, I can hear it! Aaargh.

December 2, 2008 at 10:53 amDon’t damage your hearing with volume too loud. Good rule of thumb is if some can hear your headphone music from 3 feet away, it is too loud. Also you should be able to hear people talk in normal voice from same distance.
I know, downer, but isn’t that a doctor’s job 🙂
Don’t want MizFit to trade headset for hearing aids.

December 2, 2008 at 11:13 amThese would be great for my workouts! I listen to audiobooks and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve lost my place because I’ve caught my cord on something and had to untangle myself to get back on track. I hate it because it is usually at a really suspenseful place in the book and by the time I come back I’ve heard something that gives away the mystery!

On a humorous note, one day TWICE in one shopping trip I tried to help pepople who were not actually asking anyone for help but talking on their bluetooth phones — as in, “I swear, I’m probably looking right at it but I just don’t see the ____…”

December 2, 2008 at 11:59 amOh….I could so use these. I recently rewarded myself with a new MP3 player (one that holds more than 30 songs.) However, it doesn’t come with any sort of clip or nifty arm holder. So, I’m stuck putting it in my pocket/bra/pants and having the cord flop around. Due to my gracefulness, I seem to always hit the cord with my arm and unplug the head phones. Talk about breaking your stride while you’re running! So yeah, hopefully the RNG will be kind to me!

December 2, 2008 at 12:10 pmOH I totally need these! I wear my mp3 on my wrist and since it was cold in the garage (where my treadmill lives)I tried to pull the sleeves of my sweatshirt over my hands, but the cord isn’t quite long enough, so every time I would swing my arms back and forth (and I really get those arms going!) the cord would jerk my head backward. I looked like I was having spasms while I power walked! Oh please Great Ranom Number Generator – I spend so much of my life looking like a dork that I need all the help I can get when it comes to looking like I’ve got it all together!

December 2, 2008 at 12:24 pmAre they the S9s? It looks like they cost around $100. Wow!
I need these so that I can walk around pretending like I’m listening to music! Or, I can actually lift/run/whatever to the beat of my music, which I’m too embarrassed to do if everyone else can hear the same music.
I might also give these to my partner who is trying to start a workout regimen. It would be nice to give him a gadget to make the whole thing more enjoyable:)

December 2, 2008 at 12:43 pmI don’t think I’ve ever NOT gotten the cord tangled up in something. (This is going back to the days of the Sony cassette Walkman, so we’re talking a lot of cord-snagging, lol!)
But my favorite was when the cord came in handy: I’d just moved to the Berkshires (western Massachusetts) from Manhattan. One day I was out for a run, with my corded headset, and I heard a rustling/saw movement in the bushes along the road next to me. Being a good former new Yorker, I jumped away from the bushes, to the middle of the road, and whipped off my headphones, prepared to throttle my would-be attacker with the cord, when a cow came strolling out from behind said bush, looked at me with its limpid, slightly bored eyes, and kept walking.
At that moment, I knew I wasn’t on 42nd Street anymore.

December 2, 2008 at 1:18 pmHoly wow, that would be fantastic.
My cords are a pain when I’m at the gym trying to lift weights – always in the way, or clicking on the floor when I do pushups, or falling out of my ears.
But they’re even worse on my way to the gym. See, I live in a very cold place, which requires blundling. Coat, scarf, earbuds, mittens – manage to rip out the headphones getting out my keys to lock the door – crap! Take off the mittens, replace earbuds, get out keys, lock door, rip earbuds out of the ears coz I caught them on the doorhandle. BOO!
It makes it hard to get out the door sometimes. And I have to replace my headphones WAY more often than I like to admit. Turns out they don’t like being yanked on. Who knew? This would be an amaaaaazing prize!
Kristen says
December 2, 2008 at 1:27 pmOh, how awesome would these be?
I tried to use the iPod while on my treadmill and freaked myself out, thinking that I was going to either rip the iPod off the little shelf by the headphones, or that my to-and-fro arm movements would yank it. Either way, I thought for sure that my iPod’s fate would be to end up crushed under my feet.
This did not, needless to say, end up with me getting the best, most consistent, run in! Tried it only once… which is no fun, since music can be such a motivator. 🙁

December 2, 2008 at 1:48 pmI saw someone wearing these at my gym recently. In a word: Jealous.
I, too, get a bit tired of having to deal with my iPod wires. Is it just me, or are the iPod wires too short to begin with? I usually wear it upside-down in its clip-on case so that the headphones port is an extra two inches closer to my ears. Even still, I find it gets tangled and caught on my shirt or whatever else.
Bring on the wireless gizmo!!

December 2, 2008 at 2:39 pmI’m that dork in the gym whose i-pod goes flying every time I drop it on the treadmill. One time I did it 3 times and it landed on the guys treadmill behind me every time. He got mad and moved and I shoved it in my bra. I love to listen to music while I do abs and stretching on the ball which is impossible with the wires.
In my early days at the gym I loved untangling my headphones so it wouldn’t look like I was reading the instructions on the equipment. Now, not so much.

December 2, 2008 at 3:55 pmMy problem is while running on the treadmill…I always wear a heart rate monitor, and somehow the watch ALWAYS gets caught on the cord, which then flings the iPod off the treadmill, then the earphones OUT of my ears. I try not to fall off myself while jumping off to search UNDER the treadmill for the fallen equipment. I would SO love this fun gadget!
Meg says
December 2, 2008 at 3:59 pmHeh, My favorite is always the “making the ipod launch off the treadmill” bit. You know, you’re running, jammin out to your favorite song, and all of a sudden you manage to yank the headphones a tad too much causing the ipod to fall to the deck of the treadmill, turning it into a very expensive high velocity projectile.

Ok, now for a chuckle. The other day I was walking through the local grocery and I happened to be passing by a woman who was wearing a wireless headset. As I was passing I heard this jingle sound and she answered, “Hello, Kibbles & Bits!”
Omg, I so busted up squealing with laughter. Umm right after I managed to make a mad dashh 4 aisles over. Kibbles & Bits….hee. And there were two of us busting a gut. My husband was with me. I haven’t heard him laugh that much in a long time! 😉 So?! Was she talking in code or was she talking to her dog?

December 2, 2008 at 4:40 pmMy bad luck with headphones has to do with being born deaf in one ear. I have to buy the cheap ones, because I obviously can’t do stereo, and everything over $10 is in stereo. My biggest fear is that the way electronics evolve, mono headphones will be unavailable because “everyone” wants stereo.
I haven’t dropped my ipod, but I have seen my husband accidentally drop-kick his nano off the 2nd story stairs to our apartment onto concrete. It was so concerted, it almost looked planned.Thank goodness for that rubber case, it survived. He goes through headphones like crazy because he lives hard and runs even harder.

December 2, 2008 at 5:04 pmI use a shuffle when working out or when cleaning house. I actually like to load it with books on CD from the library–really makes the time fly when cleaning. Using the shuffle means the cords aren’t too bad but I still have my moments–like getting the cord wrapped around the puppy’s legs the other–no idea how I managed that. Poor dog. We got ourselves untangled and he still loves me and the shuffle still works, so it’s all good.

December 2, 2008 at 6:38 pmI don’t even have a I-pod or mp3 player. But that would totally be easier to use at the gym.
I’m always having conversations with people in the store who are really not talking to me at all, but on their blue tooth. They’ll laugh and I’ll laugh. Then I make a comment, and they’ll say “yea.” It goes on and on, until finally something they say doesn’t make sense.
I usually use my old head phones and stick the cord down my shirt so it doesn’t get tangled. The headset also helps keep strange men from starting up conversations with me. Some still try…“Wow, your focused.” I just nod my head.

Well, I’m guessing this giveaway is only for US, so this comment is only to say that I agree with all the comments here… Cords are from the devil! (Ok, I exaggerated a bit)… I need music to survive a very loud neighborhood (music blasting daily from cars or houses, I don’t know why they can’t keep it to themselves) and cords keep tangling with everything (my baby’s stroller, my 5 years old girl, my dog when it’s my turn to walk her, furniture when I do chores, well, everything). It’s going to be very useful for the winner…

December 3, 2008 at 9:38 amI’ve tried to run several times with an ipod and earbuds… not the best combo. Here’s how it went down: Instead of focusing on my running, I spent the whole time jabbing the earbuds back in my ears after my sweatiness eventually made them slide out. Do you know how hard (and uncomfortable) it is to fit an entire ear bud down your ear canal? Sadly, that’s the only way to get them to stay.
And the white cord – the damn white cord. Don’t try tucking it in to your shirt/sportsbra, that will only help the earbud sliding situation by creating tension. But if you leave the cord out, it will whip wildly around, smacking you in the face and annoying the bejesus out of you.
Lastly, the ipod itself… if you don’t have one of the fancy armbands (I didn’t), what are you supposed to do? Hold it? No.. again, a slippery, sliding sweaty situation is created, and your screen will fog.
At the time I was trying this, I was using an “old school” ipod mini – first generation. You know how they came with those big white clips? Yeah, well those CANNOT withstand the gyrations of running. I clipped my ipod to my shorts, starting running (earbuds sliding, white cord flailing), and within 4 minutes, I heard a snap and and a crash. My poor ipod had jumped out of my shorts and fallen into a serendipitously placed muddy puddle.
The ipod still worked, but I never took it running again. And about 6 months ago I left that ipod on an airplane. I had that thing for almost 4 years! I still miss it…. but I hope whoever snagged it won’t take it for a run. It’s been through enough trauma…
