Reason #7872 I married well. Ren Man a had mock book-cover created for me.
Tomorrow it will officially be two months since I outed myself & revealed the 101 reasons behind my latest No Excuses! tee’venture.
I’m proud to say Ive stuck to my proverbial guns.
I reminded myself that success or “failure” was completely dependent on me and that was a good thing.
An empowering thing.
I ceased being Rationalization McGee, acknowledged the rationalizations about my book-goal were merely fears in disguise, & made *plans* not excuses.
I scheduled my writing time & made the appointment sacred as I do with all other important events.
Im no longer the Excuse Master with regards to writing a picture book for the Tornado.
My new title is happily, thankfully Editor McMizFitPants as Im thisclose to finished & ready to revise.
And DAMN it feels great.
I cant promise I wont need the No Excuses! exercise ever again, but I can guarantee next time it will be focusing on a different life-dilemma.
And DAMN that feels great.
Tomorrow (oooh teaser) this blogger isΒ joining us & sharing her experiences with the No Excuses! concept.
Until then I encourage you to spend a few moments revisiting your tee (should you have have joined us the first time) or grabbing an old white tee/a Sharpie and having at it (should you have missed initially).
Sure Im here if you wanna hit me up below—but as with airplanes & oxygen masks please to take care of yourself first.
I missed this exercise the first time around.
Today is SHARPIE AND TEE day for me Mizzy.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Miz.
I joined in the first time around and am still making some of the excuses for why I am not on track, but I’ve gotten better.
I’m calling my experience a success, too.
CONGRATS!!!
Hoo Boy. Today is a good a day as any to say . . . I’ve still been making excuses. But, today is also as good a day as any to say . . . it’s a brand new day. I will use my powers for GOOD not evil, and I will use my quiet time this afternoon to WRITE.
I, too, missed this the first time around and have a list of excuses for not working out as long as my arm (as big as my belly? LOL!).
I adore that cover your husband had done for the book.
Are you going to sell it?
Love the cover and the update!
My tee was not about exercise goals either and I’m happy to announce I applied to grad school because of it!
Yay me!!
Glad to hear your planning is working out! I’m sure the end result will be amazing. Enjoy your Wednesday
What a great exercise. Thanks for being so courageous and wearing the tee in the first place. It’s hard to face our excuses. I’ll absolutely taking part in this exercise today! I’m going to post the list on my office wall where it will stare me down on a daily basis..
Thanks for the inspiration.
I simply cannot wait to read your masterpiece! 3 cheers for you!
Been here.
Done that.
Did the tee shirt.
Haven’t followed through.
Getting back out my sharpie.
You have proven, once again, the importance of catching ourselves when we first start trying to make those excuses, and nipping it in the bud.
Thank you.
I needed to hear that rationalizations are fears in disguise.
I rationalize often.
go Miz go! I went on a 3 mile run/walk today. enjoyed one cookie, instead of shoveling 6 in my mouth. Today, I didn’t let excuses ruin me.
I want to see..I want to see…When do I get to see the book? Oh…and I LOVE me some MizFit and some teasers! See you tomorrow!
I am much better at excuses now.
So timely. Thanks for the reminder and GO YOU on the book!!!
OOOH CONGRATS!!
Will you be sharing? selling?
Do tell.
Alas, this book is for an audience of one.
Well, three if you count the Tornado, Ren Man and me.
Which, in a bigbadEXCUSERIDDLEDway, made it far more challenging to create.
YOU LIVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to tomorrow!
Can’t tell you how proud I am of you. Way to set your goal and follow through excuse free. I’ve recently noticed more and more how good it feels to accomplish goals and create quality.
Make me the first to know when your book hits the shelves. I’ll buy a copy, or 30 (the number of potential grand children and great grandchildren I may some day have).
Hooray!!!
I so love that cover. The sign of a good man is something thoughtful and personal as a gift.
I will admit to being highly curious π yet love that you motivated to move through and beyond your excuses for something only for the Tornado.
You rock as a mom.
I love that cover! What a talented man you have. I think it’s wonderful you’re writing a book for your daughter!
Yay you! Boy do you inspire me! π As someone who is paralyzed by fear masked as excuses I loved reading this post! Thanks for sharing it!
HUGS!
YAY!!!!!! I <3 this post!
And you know what??? I realized that since I made my no-excuses tee (re exercise), that I haven't been making excuses…seriously. I hadn't really thought about (which is actually an important part of the process, I think). I've added kettlebells to kickboxing and am really rocking my fitness!
omg omg how excited am I for you. May some of that rub off on me. You rock rock my world.
Hurray for working on books!
As you know, I’ve been doing the exact same thing π It feels awesome to get past the excuses hurdle.
I am finally ready to do my tee shirt Miz.
I’ve had the realization that excuses are woven through my life and if I pick fitness as a place to start other excuses will fall away as well.
Oh and Ren Man rocks for the cover.
Oh yeah. Ren Man is SERIOUSLY talented. Meant to say that before. Now I want to open it up so bad and see the INSIDE!!!!!!
Oh so excited for you and proud of you. Have to admit I was disappointed to read that the book is for an audience of three…I LOVE children’s books, and the cover and the title made me want it bad!
Congrats! I hope you feel as proud of yourself as everyone else is of you! π
What a beautiful cover and such a special thing, to write a book for your child. Between you and two other encounters this week, I am being faced with a lot of book writers…need to take the hint and start writing mine!
How exciting! Way to go! To try and succeed is the best feeling in the world. Love it!
I love the title without even knowing the story.
Yay, that’s so exciting that you’re almost finished!
I have stopped making excuses and started making plans, now I need to stop making plans/notes/outlines and get on with the writing!
I love this MizFit! You are amazing in so many ways.
*applause* *applause* Congratulations on bypassing those excuses and achieving your goal!
Yeah you!
I LOVE the title, too, and can admit to wishing you’d share π
Will you ever consider?
Perhaps an ebook??
I love me a good inspirational post. I’m fairly new to your blog, but I love your energy and could see it nicely reflected in a book for children. I worked with children all through college and developed a real love of literature for children. I’d love to see your finished work.
Whether you choose to share this with us or not I wanted to add that it thrilled me to no end your book is not about fitness.
You preach there is more to life and you lead us by example.
Lisa
You are amazing. This is spectacular! I love it!
And… once you really sit down and figure out what the heck is keeping you from things that you are fully in control to fix, isn’t it so much easier to actually DO them? Like, when you don’t sit down and think/write it out, it just seems like this haze of overwhelming, but if you just dig in, you wonder what the heck your problem was? π
Have a safe flight and great trip!
