October 26, 2010 at 3:45 amI have 2 kinds of comfort foods — on the go (as in the car or running around doing errands or on the sidelines of soccer games) and the other type which is in the house. Sometimes but not always they overlaps. I’m a huge fan of Laughing Cow cheese (really, I know that’s one of your favorites), particularly the low fat kind. I usually have some boxes in the car for snacks for my kids as well.
The other kind of comfort food is purple olives (definitely not for on the go) or peanuts (dry roasted, no salt).
Ok, and sometimes pretzels.

October 26, 2010 at 3:47 amI adore your family, Miz, and love that you recognize you don’t like the chips but the Tornado does.

Comfort snack? Cheese stick, or cottage cheese mashed with cilantro and avocado.
Hmmmmm. I’m sensing a theme here.

October 26, 2010 at 4:57 amI’ve been snacking alot on green bean chips from the Fresh Market. Those things are addictive. But I did buy a bag of popchips last time I was there…the barbecue. Yum!

October 26, 2010 at 5:15 amAren’t Pop Chips so good? Josh and I recently tried them and are obsessed! The TJs version is good too. My usual go to snack is an apple with nut butter- filling & delicious. Cute post 😉 Your tornado could not be any cuter

October 26, 2010 at 5:16 amWe LOVE Popchips in our house. Unfortunately, I can only get the original and BBQ in my grocery store. I would LOVE to try some of the other flavors.
Snacks – I also really like Pringles. My latest is also Roasted Red Pepper and Garlic Hummus with carrots. I’m also a BIG fan of air popped popcorn.

Favorite comfort food – pasta! With cheese 🙂

October 26, 2010 at 5:51 amI just picked up a bag of popchips yesterday to look at the stats! Resisted them, but glad they have the Mizfit seal of approval.
I think my ‘comfort’ snacky food is walnuts right now.
Heather @ Not a DIY Life says
October 26, 2010 at 5:55 amYou are so funny! My current fave go-to snack is peanuts or almonds. For the Ladybug, her current fave is my homemade whole wheat bread. I certainly like have not-filled-with-crapola snacks for all of us!
debby says
October 26, 2010 at 5:59 amOh I want watermelon flavored chips too! That was too too cute, especially the sign off! And the pic of Renman is priceless! Thanks for sharing your family with us.
I guess my favorite comfort snack right now is walnuts. Especially with a few raisins and chocolate chips thrown in…
Coco says
October 26, 2010 at 6:04 amMy crunchy snacks – plain Sun Chips or dried fruit Crisps (especially the asian pear flavor).
My chocolatey snacks – Cliff Chocolate Brownie Z-Bar or Vita-Muffin Choc. Chip muffins.
P.S. Love how your daughter wanted to put the box away nicely. Are you sure she’s really a tornado?

October 26, 2010 at 6:05 amMy gosh, she’s gotten so articulate since I first started following you – I feel like I’m getting to watch the Tornado grow up, and I thank you for sharing her with us (especially those of us who’s own children are kinda adults now).
Also? I love how she was holding the box with her feet…limbs – gotta use them all! 🙂
My go to snack lately has been nut thins for their carby saltiness, but I really should switch to pop chips – a better calorie choice, and DANG are the BBQ-flavored ones good!
Joanna Sutter says
October 26, 2010 at 6:25 amCutie patootie!!
Confession? I’ve never had a Pop Chip but I hear Shay talking about them non-stop and now you (and the Tornado) so I should probably check them out.
My comfort food these days? Coffee and cocoa roasted almonds…I crave the crunch!
Ashley says
October 26, 2010 at 6:28 amI’m a plain and BBQ kinda gal, too. Current go to snack for me is Baked Lays BBQ chips. Yum! Either those, or Crunchmaster Sea Salt crackers (when I’m not eating fruits/veg).

October 26, 2010 at 7:08 amI’ve been on a low-fat string cheese with wheat crackers kick for the past couple weeks. When my sweet tooth is acting up, my go-to snack is a pudding cup with pretzels.
Paige @ Two Runners And A Brown Dog says
October 26, 2010 at 7:23 amMy favorite go-to comfort food is a small bag of Teddy Grahams. I love that they come in different flavors, and that the bag lands right at 120 calories. They’re a great little snack when I’m on the go.

October 26, 2010 at 7:25 amPopsicles are my favorite go to snack!
I buy the cheap ones, I buy the “good for you” ones. I make my own, I love popsicles!

October 26, 2010 at 7:40 amFunny thing is that my new found snack: POPCHIPS! I’ve been living under a rock apparently and just discovered them in the past month. I’m not a huge chip eater, but I love having them as a option when I’m seriously craving some salt.
I do admit though: I do have a new found love for frozen waffles at non-breakfast meal times 🙂
Theresa @ActiveEggplant says
October 26, 2010 at 7:58 am“Tornado Out” LOVE IT!
My go-to snack is plain old tortilla chips and salsa. Day after day, week after week. I dig them for the salty flavor & they don’t seem as unhealthy as regular old greasy chips. definitely could use a replacement!
Colleenzo says
October 26, 2010 at 8:20 amMy easy grab-and-go snack is grapes, but my COMFORT snack is pretzels and hummus. By the vat-load.

October 26, 2010 at 8:41 amOoohh! I want some! My husband and daughter are getting bored wit the snack options around here, since I won’t buy them any junk anymore! I think they’d like these.
For me, I’m lately snacking on cheese (a piece of extra sharp cheddar or a wedge of laughing cow swiss), walnuts, almonds, or apple slices.
The Tornado did an AWESOME job with her review!

October 26, 2010 at 8:52 amI can’t get over how fast Tornado is growing!
OK, my favorite snack while hiking is beef jerky. It’s portable and full of protein. Would LOVE some popchips to carry along too. 🙂

October 26, 2010 at 9:08 amThanks for sharing. Your Tornado is sooo cute! Favorite comfort snack? Probably greek yogurt mixed with peanut butter and chia seeds. My girls love Popchips and I don’t feel bad when I pack them in their lunch occasionally.

October 26, 2010 at 10:36 amNuts or fruit. I must keep my distance from chippy/crackery things, because I eat them all, and then some 😉 If I win, I pass my winnings onto the next person in line!
Nicole says
October 26, 2010 at 10:55 ami usually keep some cheerios or cranberries for snacks at work because I can stash them close by and dont have to throw them out each weekend.

October 26, 2010 at 11:28 amLove love love Emma! And I agree with her review – although I am a salt and vinegar pop chip lover. I especially love that they are portion controlled – if you buy the small bags and they are pretty healthy.

October 26, 2010 at 11:36 amMy go to snack at the moment are Quaker rice cakes – the tomato and basil flavoured ones. Only 50 calories each and so crunchy and slightly salty…mmmm….I’d eat them even if they were bad for me 🙂

October 26, 2010 at 12:12 pmHmm my favorite go to snack would be pita chips. It;s bad, once I open the bag it definitely doesn’t last very long. Pita chips wins over willpower every time.

October 26, 2010 at 12:20 pmI’ve heard (from some besides the Tornado) that popchips are da’ bomb.
My go to snack is Chobani non-fat yogurt. Peach is my favorite flavor. This is sort of amazing to me since for YEARS I detested yogurt. But this one, is delish.

October 26, 2010 at 1:12 pmI am a pretzel and popcorn girl. Movie+popcorn= happiness in our house! That being said- I love Popchips on the go. I usually get them when we are out and about and need a car snack. I love how salty they are. My girls so far only dig the original ones 🙂
Janell says
October 26, 2010 at 1:54 pmMy current go-to snack has been dry roasted peanuts of which I can only eat a few but since they taste like salt (and watermelon) I love them.

October 26, 2010 at 2:15 pmnot wanting to enter the contest (chips are my trigger food and I tend to stay far away from any shape, form, texture of them ;-))….however I just wanted to stop in and say how much I enjoyed the videos! Great work!

October 26, 2010 at 2:42 pmI have a potato chip weakness. Like as soon as they are in the house, I have a serving a day until they are gone. Popchips are good because I can indulge that potato chippy crunch for less calories. However, I don’t keep them around all the time. If I have snackies around and open, they get munched.
My fave comfort food? Pretzels and queso. It sounds like an abhorrently horrid snack in terms of calories, but it’s actually not so bad, and so so decadent. Don’t have that in the house all the time either. 🙂

October 26, 2010 at 3:17 pmMy favorite snacks are reduced fat string cheese and pickles!

October 26, 2010 at 3:41 pmI am with you, not a big fan of chips. Will eat them once in a while but can resist. My go to snack is sunflower seeds or carrots and hummus. Currently my favorite hummus is from Aldi, the roasted red pepper. Ohhhhh yummy.

October 26, 2010 at 5:02 pmI love chips beyond all reason, and try to stay away,
Popchips are totally awesome for that none-too-injurious hit of the crackling crack. Would love to win some bbq flavor.
Current snack when I am trying to be good-ish is nuts (almonds or peanuts) or light butter microwave popcorn. The seasoned seaweed snacks from Trader Joes are also great.

October 26, 2010 at 6:50 pmOH, I loved those videos & Prince Popchip.. tooooooooooo funny! You guys are crazy & fun!!!
I am not a chip person either but my hubby & the rest of the family are & I introduced them to these & they love them!!!!
Go to comfort food…. WOW! Well, to me, comfort food brings thoughts of treats! 🙂 So.. cookies.. although I have healthier treat animal cookies from Costco that I have during the week… not my fav real weekend cookie treat. I also love fresh baked bread but during my healthy weak, I have very healthy & whole grain & sprouted seed breads in the house & I love a piece toasted. I even eat it plain & I love it that way.
Popchips with hubby & family will be gone fast!
Courtney says
October 26, 2010 at 7:09 pmLove this post! What a great endorsement from the Tornado! I’ve not tried the Pop Chips yet, but I keep hearing great things about them. As chips were one of my go-tos as far as not so healthful eating, I replaced them with flavored rice cakes. And cheese is always one of my comfort foods! Yum!

October 26, 2010 at 9:16 pmAs I am back on the new lifestyle wagon, I’m not feeling comfort from any food. Maybe the popchips will do it for me. Just don’t buy the big bag from Costco….very dangerous…

October 27, 2010 at 8:06 amI just love Popchips. They are my favorite crunchy, salty snack. I love all the flavors. I was thrilled when I found them at Target.

October 27, 2010 at 8:24 amI was just introduced to Popchips on Sunday evening, when I accompanied my nephew and niece (and their parents) to Boo at the Zoo in DC. We received a bag of the salt & vinegar flavor as one of the treats and OMG I was HOOKED from the first one. Since I’ve never noticed them in stores around here, I went online Monday morning and found them on Amazon with free 2-day delivery if you’re a Prime member! Well, needless to say, I ordered them immediately! And I’d LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win this contest!
My favorite comfort food is mac & cheese. I also love buffalo wings. Sadly, though, since I had my gall bladder removed in July, I haven’t been able to enjoy most of my favorite foods. But these extremely low-fat chips could quickly become a new fave!
Andreana says

October 27, 2010 at 10:22 amMy comfort snack is Baked Ruffles. If I can’t find them in a small bag then Baked Lays will do. Most salty snacks, to me, aren’t salty enough. These are, and most flavors of Pop Chips are too. If I stop running I’ll have to find a new, less salty snack!
