Around here we’re seizing the day to loll about and watch Shrek Forever After for the thousandth time map out precisely how we, as a family, plan to ROCK 2011.
Admittedly we like to go gently into a New Year around here.
Also admittedly, since my days of raucous partying are behind me, this morning’s hangover is courtesy of bonbons & not beer.
And you?
Are you going full-tilt today?
Kicking ass & taking names?
(In which case join me over here at Yahoo!’s new Your Wisdom site. Im playing grown-up, giving uber-serious workout tips, & excited to be a contributor.)
Or are you thrilled, as we are, today falls on a weekend with the built-in SHREK-cuse to put off all life-changing decisions till Monday?
Please to hit us all up in the comments.
Gently & softly for the mightcould be hung over among us.

January 1, 2011 at 3:00 amHappy new year! My hangover is definitely due to beer and bubbly (and veggie burgers), so yes – I am very happy that New Year’s falls on the weekend! You have Shrek, we have something that rhymes with “Shrek”: Star Trek. A marathon will be happening in the hizzouse today. So, not even close to “full tilt”, but I still think it kicks some ass. =) Here’s to a kick-ass 2011!

January 1, 2011 at 3:48 amI’m taking New Year’s Day to be creative -inspired by my wprd of the year, ‘presence’ – and do some writing and work on my vision board.I, too, have a slight chocolate hang-over, but nothing that a gentle walk around the park won’t cure. Happy New Year!

My word for the year is Balance, and I’m working on a new flexible schedule for myself to ensure I’ve scheduled a good balance of work time, play time, quiet time, and life time.

January 1, 2011 at 9:19 amhappy new year haha! i’m perfectly well this morning, i’m not a drinker at all. pity all those are gonna miss out on a perfectly great day because of a hangover. i don’t make resolutions i know i cannot keep bc it only sets you up for failure. instead i take a moderate approach and call them goals. i set out to achieve them throughout the year and like to see the evolution of myself emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually by the close of another year.

January 1, 2011 at 1:59 pmHappy New Year to you & yours, Carla!
You would have LOVED the mega-play out that The Things and I went to yesterday. It was a new year’s eve party in the late afternoon at a kids’ party place choc-full of enormous inflatable play structures (obstacle courses, slides, and bounce houses) and one room had a rock climbing wall. Best of all, parents got to play, too (and you know I did!)
Today, lower key. We had relatives over for brunch, and are going to their place for dinner. Dragging carcass because the kids were so revved up yesterday and stayed up later than usual. Hoping to rest up and be rarin’ to go on Monday!

January 2, 2011 at 12:09 pmI liked that it was a weekend. I like doing not much on New Year’s. I sat around and organized parts of my life. Caught up on bills, and got some other stuff in order.
