Ahh People.
Today is a great day.
So great Im not even bothering with the ‘I feel badly for those of you who have to work or who dont reside in the USA and have the day off’ dizclaimer.
OH NO SHE DIDNT!!! Oh YES SHE DID!
Ren Man is home.
The child is home.
Im always home home but plan to have my work finished at the CRACK of dawn.
And we’re going to just HANG OUT ALL DAY.
First we will workout.
Non-traditionally of course because (all together now) fitness isn’t about fitting in.
(if youre joining via a reader theres a 20 second video below of the Husband doing creative corework in the domicile)
Next we will be doing a President’s Day craft:
(Im seriously excited about this for some odd reason. Pretzels, frosting, all reminiscent of my FAVE Lincoln Logs toy? What’s not to love?)
After all *that* excitement we shall unwind with some family yoga time (please to enjoy the ephemeral video below where Ren Man & Tornado demonstrate the obscure and seemingly random well-known Lizard on a Rock pose.ย Then please to grab a partner & attempt at home):
Then, if this misfit gets her way, we shall cap the day off with a family outing to an educational film or somewhere equally serious & fraught with learning potential.
And you?
What are you up to on this Monday?
Will you join us in frosting & frivolity?
Core-work & (movie) candy?
Please to hit us all up in the comments…

February 21, 2011 at 2:36 amFor practical reasons (we wouldn’t want a flattened hubby) I would have to be the rock when we do this one. I think we might skip it for now, actually, but I am definitely going to do the core workout with the vigorously swinging arms, especially since I still haven’t found a hula hoop.
Have a great holiday, Miz and family!

February 21, 2011 at 7:43 amSo much fun happening there! I work today, but I work from home and can flex my time a bit. Good enough.

February 21, 2011 at 7:50 amI am going to work (soon, really). But that’s OK. I’m doing it because I will be taking off this Friday to watch my son compete in the “national” wrestling tournament. He doesn’t think we should bother to go since he “won’t win.” But if we don’t go who would remember to get a t-shirt?! Not my jaded teenage son, that’s for sure!

February 21, 2011 at 8:23 amLove your edible craft! My favorite kind.
Our day will be spend doing mostly the usual, as Sweetie has to work, kids have school and home school for youngest, and cats need feeding and cleaning after, laundry needs doing. The day will have an easier pace, though, because there will be less traffic when running errands.

February 21, 2011 at 8:28 amI didn’t know that Americans got the day off today too! We call it Family Day in Canada (or Louis Riel Day in Manitoba).
I’m spending the day doing freelancing. And laundry ๐
…should probably stop mucking about on the Internet and get some work done. Think I might have to do a core workout first though! Hehe.

February 21, 2011 at 8:45 amToo funny! I have to show this to my husband – he “mops” our wood floors by putting the terry cloth mop covers on his feet. But his technique is lacking. Me, I’m just glad he’s doing the mopping!

February 21, 2011 at 9:10 amI love your creative workouts.
I don’t think my husband would join in unless Ren Man called and told him to ๐
Is that possible?

And I love the core work. We often need the floors dried after mopping. Now Hunni can mop and I’ll dry :0D

February 21, 2011 at 5:31 pmJust me and the little dude today, so we did some morning backyard play time with race cars, then onto a healthy locally farm to table mexican lunch and some major park playing with a friend. Great day, great time, and I’m exhausted!

February 21, 2011 at 6:43 pmSounds like a perfect day. If the DH is doing Rock then Emma’s pose should be called Paper. And since you’re editing, you’re Scissors.

February 21, 2011 at 7:13 pmAlthough it is Family Day here in Ontario, I did not have the day off. I spent the day taking care of business!
Love the Ren Man’s core work and what a fabulous yoga pose…I haven’t learned this one yet and will have to ask my teacher about it…
P.S. I did eat some gluten free pretzels, but did not build anything with them.

February 21, 2011 at 9:45 pmI was going to get up and go to my beloved (really) gym…but there was about 6 inches of SNOW! Before I had a chance to get dressed, beautiful daughter was on it and cleaned up my car for my workout. Cooked breakfast,me, mom, and daughter…washed dishes…felt guilty that daughter only has two days off and I have a week, took daughter out..neither one of us wanted to go to the mall..came home…went to the gym…YAY!
lots of living.

February 22, 2011 at 1:07 pmYour day looks fun and fulfilling. I love the log cabin! Full house here too. Beautiful day out, nice and sunny. Unfortunately snow on the ground and very cold. Orthodontist appointments this morning and low and behold my son has to have his wisdom teeth pulled. He is excited…too bad he has no idea what he is in for. Off to the gym soon for an intense interval workout and some upper body work.
