(sing it)
Come and listen to a story
’bout a woman named Miz.
Been around fitness
many years in the biz
Theres one cool brand
she’s always longed to TRRRRRRRY
If you read this post you will know the reason why.
Yellowman it is. Hip prints. Tattoo-style.
Oh people.
Im a strong, strong woman.
I decided to only do giveaways *I* seek from brands—and I stuck to it!
Until the great Yellowman email of 2011.
Allow me to set the scene.
It was a Friday afternoon. Right before Shabbat unplug time. I checked my emails for one last time and found the one Id only ever dreamed of receiving. A FREE Yellowman outfit & a Yellowman outfit for you as well.
I squealed. I told Ren Man.
He totally did NOT care until he took a gander at their site and longed for a cycling jersey.I squealed again. It was, perhaps sadly, a thrifty misfit’s dream realized. Ive always loved the prints. Ive always loved the cut of the products. Ive always wondered if their stuff was worth the money. Please to enjoy what I discovered.
What did I learn after I quickfast pulled my Yellowman outfit from the package:
- The fabric is silky smooth & seems NOT to snag! I loved how it felt on my hands & as soon as I could I yanked it on on my body.
- What I loved was their MadKool fabric. It wicks. It doesnt wrinkle or snag. The outfit I received had 30+ UV protection (something this Texan loves). It was, in short, MAD KOOL.
- In my opinion the bottoms run big. I initially asked for a small and ended up an extra small. (Im a small in the top). Typically Im a small and in some brands a medium.
- The tattoo’esque patterns are prettier and more vibrant in person! And not garish. At all. I’ll admit the fear of that was part of my hesitancy.
What did I learn after wearing my Yellowman treats?
- I adored. The fit, the wicking, the fact the tights are perfect for Texas and *perfect* as a base layer in colder climes. The whole shebang was everything I could have hoped for and more.
- They are for work AND working out. Suffice it to say my tank top can be seen in every situation from Pilates to (work) presentations.
off to do a social media presentation!
- The fact it’s an outfit (read: matching. I never match.) caused me to believe it was suitable for various & sundry other non-physical activities as well.
ahh protein pancakes in the morning. I love ye, too.
Bottom line:
I adored every single solitary thing about these pieces, People**
I really have longed to try them for ages—and they did not disappoint.
That said, they are still pricey.
Now that Ive worn one (and decided, for me, it has myriad uses) I would definitely pay 59.00 for the tank top.
Quickfastandinahurry.
I wouldnt pay 89.00 for the tights, but 100% of that is the fact I now reside in Texas. If I still lived on the east cost I probably would. If for no other reason than the tattoo matchy thang. Im easy like that.
Bottom bottom line (or HOW CAN YOU ENTER TO WIN?).
You USA-types can be entered to win an outfit of your own (as opposed to winning the outfit Ive worn) for the low low cost of a comment below.
If YOU had the chance to get your Yellowman on—where would you wear your prize?
Winner announced 11.14.11
** FTC the tights and tank were free. My yammerings of lovenessment are all my own.

Andrea@WellnessNotes says
November 7, 2011 at 7:52 amLooks great! Love the design! And it’s silky smooth??? Sounds perfect!
When would I wear it? Pretty much all the time. I only wear work clothes when I teach a class and then switch into my “comfy workout clothes” the minute I walk into the door. Oh, and I could probably even wear the tank with my work outfits! 🙂

Erica says
November 7, 2011 at 8:41 amLOVE the top! I want one!!! I’d wear it to walk K!
Heather Fleming says
November 7, 2011 at 8:47 amThose are super-cool! I’d wear mine to the normal fitness things – pilates, piyo, yoga, weight training, etc.
But most importantly, I’d layer on the pieces under my normal clothes to go to dress rehearsals because our theater is *frigid* during rehearsals, and my current knee socks/thermal shirts layering scheme is bulky and uncomfortable.
Not to mention, those layers make me over-heated the second I leave the theater and walk into a reasonable climate or the sizzling inferno that is actor dressing rooms. I need me some awesome, moisture-wicking,deliciously lightweight layering goodness!
Irene says
November 7, 2011 at 9:13 amWinter layers here too!!!
Skiing.
Anna says
November 7, 2011 at 8:49 amI’d wear the top to Zumba!!!

November 7, 2011 at 10:00 amI would wear my YMX outfit to the gym, out on the road running, to yoga, the top out shopping or on a casual date. I’d wear it to the sporting goods store and make everyone jealous… The real question is, where wouldn’t I wear my YMX?! 😉
Erin says
November 7, 2011 at 10:00 amI’d wear it for my next 5K- the Turkey Trot. I have no matching running gear so I’d wear it all the time.
Cat @Breakfast to Bed says

-My hubby may have other suggestions as well;)
Thanks for sharing. Thanks for the opportunity!
Lori Z. says
November 7, 2011 at 10:49 amWhy have I not heard of Yellowman before? 30+ UV protection and those patterns?! I’d say I would wear them anywhere, but after running, biking and lifting in them nobody would want to be around me if I wore them out and about too…

November 8, 2011 at 4:28 amI would wear the outfit when it’s slushy outside, but the sidewalks are just salted enough to go running outside in the winter in Boston (which goes from about now through May). And at the gym. And when going across all those invisible lines between cities, states, and countries and only changing – not halting – my workout schedule.
And when I want to feel relaxed and pretty.

And being in Michigan trying to find a job in Austin, there are ALOT of phone interviews).
Love it!
Courtney says
November 8, 2011 at 8:20 amI was just checking out their site last week, and I am smitten! I’m not usually matchy-matchy with my gear but is have to with such beautiful clothes. I have to wear a uniform to work, but I’m sure I’d wear them just about everywhere else!

November 8, 2011 at 10:47 amWow! I think this is the most positive review you’ve ever posted. I’ve got to try some of this stuff!
I’m going to be boring and say I would wear it to run in. I’m finally making progress running after a few years of a difficult-to-diagnose injury, and it’s absolutely thrilling to get that runner’s high again:)
Deb says
November 8, 2011 at 11:09 amYou rock the YellowMan. Sadly for me, I have this THING about wearing tights with a top that does not cover my crotch. I feel all exposed. So I’m not sure I would ever comfortably wear the pieces together.
But I LOVE the patterns and want to think I’d wear them separately. The tank with EVERYTHING – the tights with a longer top.
Lia says
November 8, 2011 at 12:14 pmThose look and sound spectacular. I’m a yoga girl in Chicago so that’s what the outfit would be for for me 😀 The tights sound particularly welcome for my climates!
Kaydensgma says
November 8, 2011 at 1:14 pmI would wear YMX by Yellowman for playing tennis also while doing active things with my grand daughter. We would of course have to get matching outfits

November 8, 2011 at 2:59 pmI would wear it out on Lady Bird Lake Trail during a training run to show off and be cute. Who says you can’t be cute and run.
Laura P says
November 8, 2011 at 3:32 pmI will say that based on your post, I’d be wearing my outfit everywhere I could. I think I’d be sad to really sweat in it but then again, I’d look good doing so and that is always a bonus.
I live in CO so I’d be able to wear the outfit for multiple seasons, too. I’m in need of good leggings as it’s colder out now and I’ve lost enough weight that I don’t have any more that fit!!!
It’s always great to know that exercise clothes are worth the price!! Glad that you are enjoying yours!!!
Thanks, Laura
Karina says
November 8, 2011 at 4:34 pmI’d wear them to yoga, riding my bike while taking my son to school. To the grocery store, around the house…I’d wear it just about every where. I’m also nervous buying such pricey items. I’m glad to hear that they are worth the money!

November 9, 2011 at 1:51 pmI love the leg embellishment. Love those.
I dunno about you, but I’m freezing here in California. Fall kinda snuck up on me.
I’d definitely wear this for running, though. Or lounging. Or when family makes me do a Jack and a Squat for saying I did “jack squat” today.

Looking through their site, I find their men’s designs are much more striking and beautiful than the women’s designs. (That Maori Earth Blue Tri-Sport Jersey, in particular.)

November 13, 2011 at 1:20 amI’d wear them to go running and to lift as soon as this stupid cast comes off my ankle. And I’ll really need to lift and run because I’ve had a broken ankle for six weeks and I feel like a slug!
