Thank you dearie for the birthday props! Wowza, we are three π

November 21, 2008 at 5:41 amhahahhahahahahahhahahahah AWESOME video. Lets make this a trend. Maybe they will start adding treadmills to certain aisles π
Natalia Burleson says
November 21, 2008 at 5:56 amI’m very excited about Bolt it looks cute! π
Natalia Burleson says
November 21, 2008 at 5:58 amOK I just watched the video – that is hilarious~! How many people were looking at you like you crazy? Or, do they all know you? LOVE IT!!!!
MizFit says
November 21, 2008 at 5:59 amI initially did it for Hungry Girls newsletter and REALLY HOPED with her *clout in the industry* that they would install treadmills or at least LUNGING ONLY AISLES in the groceries π
guess Ill have to create my own with electrical tape (the aisles. not the treadmill. thus far Ive been unsuccessful in creating a treadmill out of tape.)
and natalia? they ALL thought I was crazy and I really was thisclose to being escorted out of the store….but youll have that.
Meribeth says
November 21, 2008 at 6:13 amHave they not kicked you out of the CM yet? Have fun baking and whatever you do, stay away from the Food Network when the Barefoot Contessa is on. She has no idea what low calorie food is!
I can only muster up the bike today. Is this a bad cold or allergies?
Linda/Hughsmom says
November 21, 2008 at 6:19 amSo when I walked the dog this morning I put on workout pants, lined wind pants, a t-shirt, a heavy sweatshirt, a windbreaker, hat, gloves, both hoods up. YOU are wearing shorts.
π
It’s c-c-c-cold here. Shivering must burn calories.
Have fun with your guests.
I’m going to lunch and shopping with a former beau’s mom and sister. Them I love – him, now so much.
Marianne says
November 21, 2008 at 6:21 amI notice your cardio did not entail chasing toddler. Mine always did…
Costco pies? Sigh. A piece of me just died… I will make 3 this holiday. Don’t know who will eat them, as I have a potato-hole not a pie-hole.
The meatloaf cupcakes? Always better in theory. Better in a pie or cake pan lined with foil so you can lift it right out.
I think the treadmill aisles should be: ice cream, cookies, and potato chips, set on a high incline and going very very fast. You can’t do, you can’t have.
Scrolled all the way down and read that you work out sans tunes? Gad, I’d totally lose focus. Need to bury myself in the zone.
Let the baking weekend begin!!!
Natalia Burleson says
November 21, 2008 at 6:22 amOk the “being escorted from the store” that would have made a great ending to the video!! LOL
MizFit says
November 21, 2008 at 6:30 amMeribeth? My fellowAustinite? It is allergies and they BAD!
Marianne? Fedex. Pies. I’ll send addy. Next wed. Thank you.
And the music thing? 50% overwhelmed by all the choices (sad. I know.) And 50% the same reason I lift w/out gloves: I fear that, the day in inevitably forget my mp3 player, it would all serve as a readymade excuse to skip the lift.
Natalia? There might have been more to the video (including the store manager storming up very redinface) but my lloyd (entourage, anyone?) is a volunteer and not interested in doing her time in GroceryPrison.
That place notoriously hardcore.
Mara says
November 21, 2008 at 6:31 amI love the grocery store workout!!! THAT might be something I could do…though I’m usually at the grocery store in heels… oh well, I’d try anyway!

November 21, 2008 at 6:33 amThe little old mean ladies beat me up enough at the grocery store, if I start doing exercise their heads are bound to explode.

November 21, 2008 at 6:44 amThose origami plastic bags are pretty darn impressive, but NO WAY am I taking the time to do that! I’ll keep shoving them into the tall basket I got from a thrift-store and keep next to the cat food bin specifically for that purpose.
I’ve worked out at movie lines, in the airport, in hospital lobbies…the grocery store is about the only place I never work out; I’m too focused on hunting for bargains and reading nutritional labels!

November 21, 2008 at 7:22 amWhat’s next week? Oh, yeah. Thanksgiving. Seems so anticlimactic after this week’s excitement. π
This weekend? Twilight. That’s all. π Actually, I have an action-packed weekend full of appointments, dates and shows…which is not quite as much fun as it sounds, but close.
I have to fit my workout in somehow today too, and I’m not sure how that’s going to work. Very sleep-deprived from an extended T-shirt-making session last night, and big date with Edward Cullen tonight, so…maybe after the movie. But I know if I leave it, I won’t do it. I think perhaps a few lunges and squats and some push-up/plank combos are in order for the lunch hour…if I’m still conscious by then!
And once again, love the rhyme. Just love it. π

November 21, 2008 at 9:30 amThis weekend? Crazy busy and fun-packed (as usual). Tonight it’s Twilight (the Hubs idea, believe or not- I haven’t read the books), then the BIL’s art show. Tomorrow is running, raking leaves, then the Big game (BYU vs. Utah). Sunday is pretty full, too, but hopefully I’ll have time to clean.
I can’t see the picture of the meatloaf cupcakes (dang tech nazis at work), but I’m intrigued. I’ll have to check when I get home.
And your sis is making pies? Me, too!!! She’s great (emailing her right after this).

November 21, 2008 at 11:22 amGrocery-bag folding. Definitely got to be on my list: Goal 102 – get all the grocery bags folded.
We’re trying to cut down on grocery bags, but we now have so many big colorful reuseable ones that we should probably figure out a way to fold them for storage. Especially since we never remember to take them, which is why we keep having to buy more.
Anybody have any tips for remembering to take your bags to the store?

I never seem to have flour in the house, and the last time I was craving cookies, I just threw my steel cut oats into our food processor for awhile and then used it in a healthy-ish chocolate chip cookie recipe. They turned out delicious. Husband-approved. So I am a big fan of the SCOs in cookies!
Happy weekend. I always try to make the security guards laugh– y’know, I sing/dance in places where there’s nobody but security cameras to catch me. Lunging in the grocery aisles is even gutsier.

I LOVE the supermarket workout. I am doing it this weekend. My wife is going to leave me from embarrassment. She already hates that I wear my 5 finger shoes there.
You look great! Keep spreading the good fitness word.

November 21, 2008 at 10:39 pmLove the outfit you wear for the grocery store. I SO wish you lived nearby. Any skiing plans? Utah is fantastic for that, and we could both shop in our running shorts, just sayin’.

November 22, 2008 at 9:45 pmI have vista and found I needed to uninstall Flash then re-install; now I can see Mizvideos again! LOVE the grocery store workout.
As for pies…. I wish I could say I’ll be making some this year, but I’ll be traveling to the in-laws. No time for baking. I make a berry pie (cranberries & blueberries, sour cream crust) that lots of people seem to like… and this apple pie was a hit:

January 15, 2009 at 8:23 pmI have recently lost a good amount of weight using acai berry and colon cleanse pills and have created a blog documenting my use of it.
However, I would also like to try out the Wu-Yi weight loss teas and document my progress with that as well.
The problem is i have heard some bad things about these teas. Has anyone tried them? Did you suffer from any of the side effects?
