As I have rhymingly yammered above—I love me some Jackie Warner.
Yes, I agree that her first tv show kinda plummeted in the final season (Im more about the dumbbells than the drama) but I adored how she cared about & unflaggingly encouraged/supported her clients.
Her style reminded me so much of how I trained people when I owned my studio (I KNOW! Please to file under prideful & cross-reference under MizFit has chutzpah.).
She’s a cheertasker.
A stickler for form. Relentless in demanding her clients work to push themselves to their limits. Yet always there to cheer them on & believing in them even when they are losing faith in themselves.
So it’s no surprise I leaped at the chance to review her first exercise DVD.
and YES. While I may never have the $400/hr she demands for her one-on-one training sessions the Personal Training with Jackie DVD is a fantastic poor-MizFit’s second choice.
The DVD offers five different workout options: a 15 minute total body circuit, a 15 minute abs only circuit, a 15 minute lower body circuit, a 15 minute upper body circuit, and a 40 minute total body circuit.
What did I love about the DVD?
- It’s almost as though she is right there with you. As an ex-personal trainer my favorite part of the entire dvd is how clear, concise, thorough & SAFE Jackie’s instructions are. She not only describes and demonstrates the exercises—she adjusts her ‘background exercisers’ during the workout and, if you are anything like I am, the adjustments are ones YOU needed to make as well.
- The workout is broken down into upper body, lower body & core work. So many videos merely gloss over the core work and Jackie divides her workout equally among these three pieces. Only glimpse at her midsection was all I needed to be a believer that her workout plan, well, works.
- It’s fast paced. As Ive said before I tend to grow bored during most DVD workouts. Jackie employs lots of supersets & what she calls power burns (doing an exercise for a full minute & then switching) which made the workout fly by for me.
- The Tornado loved it as well. As a mom it is more than a SMALL bonus that my daughter enjoyed hanging with me while I did the 15 minute workouts. She joined in for some parts (she’s a kickass jumping jack’er) & also pretended to be The Warner at others and freely adjusted/critiqued my form.
What didn’t I like about the DVD (subtitle: MizFit reaches for some sort of criticism):
- I wished Jackie had worn shorter shorts. As odd as that sounds I do think Id have benefited from seeing her legs during the lower body exercises (form) & I do think Id have benefited from seeing her legs during the lower body exercises (motivation. she is in amazing shape, People. Seriously.)
- I wasn’t in it. Who doesnt need a pretty-coordinated yet happy to remain in the background MizFit in her video? I was fortunate, however, to chat with The Warner by phone & procure some of her tips & secrets—watch for that post in upcoming weeks.
Would I recommend the DVD?
Yes and without hesitation. I wont lie and say I found the 40 minute total body routine to be easy (at all) yet I dont think it’s out of reach for any of us.
I’d recommend the DVD with the caveat of starting with the 15 minute workouts FIRST and working up to the 40 minute routine.
(Or, should you wanna employ the MizFit approach, begin with the 15 minute workouts & watch the 40 minute routine from the comfort of your couch till youre ready to join in. Good times.)
Attention skimmers! Now for the giveaway portion of our post. One about which Im really excited because I found the workout to be motivating, challenging, TornadoDistracting & fun.
For one lucky reader-winner I have a copy of Personal Training with Jackie:
And a copy of the not yet released (Got mine yesterday–hence the lack of review. it’s coming!) Xtreme Timesaver Training DVD:

September 15, 2010 at 2:55 amSeriously? An answer from Jackie? Can’t WAIT to watch my dvr’d Thintervention. My question: What do you say to yourself on days when you don’t feel like working out, and is there something that would work for a variety of excuses, i.e., general fatigue, hip/knee pain, bad attitude, too busy, et al. And if Ms. JW never has days like that, which looks entirely possible, what does she recommend us mere mortals tell our lazy selves. Thank you Miz!

September 15, 2010 at 4:05 amMy question is do you really like how you eat? All the shakes and amino acids?

September 15, 2010 at 4:10 amI’m cracking up about the shorter shorts.
She wears those long ones on her new show, too!!
My question? THE ABS.
What is her secret?!

September 15, 2010 at 4:20 amI adore Jackie, too! I’d ask her to give me a private personal training session at SkyLab. What?

September 15, 2010 at 4:25 amI would flip all to heck and back if Jackie could give me advice on how to work around the rebuilt knee & tibia. My doctors have told me running would be bad … jumping, lunges and squats all hurt like hell … and forget trying to do any floor work that requires pressure on my knee. Owie wow wow. I know there have to be modifications I could do but I’ll be danged if I’m bright enough to figure out what they would be!
Neighbor Linda says
September 15, 2010 at 4:25 amI admit I’m biased Miz 🙂 but my question is why does JW not come to Austin & film an episode with YOU.
The two of you could hit the grocery aisles doing biceps curls with foods you don’t eat 🙂 like Oreos!
Love ya!

September 15, 2010 at 4:39 amI would love to ask the Warner how to breakthrough a plateau. How do you push your body to get results without getting injured?
I would love to give these DVDs a go Thanks MizFit!

September 15, 2010 at 4:40 amI think Jackie is in her 40s yes?
I would love to know how she looks so great at that age 🙂

September 15, 2010 at 4:48 amI am starting to get bored with my own routines, so it is nice to spice it up! Great giveaway! I would love to ask her how her routine has changed since she was younger.
Cammy@TippyToeDiet says
September 15, 2010 at 4:54 amOkay, we know I’m clueless with these things. Please tell me the longer shorts are not the ones on the dvd cover. Because I don’t know her well enough to see her in shorter shorts than that. Not without dinner and a movie first.

September 15, 2010 at 4:56 amI like the question about her food….does she really eat like that all the time….and does she really like it?!? I am sorry but I always go to the food!
I love the idea of this workout but have been scared to try it but now maybe I will…Miz your review was wonderful and answered some of my questions about the Warner!
Thanks for sharing!
Marisa @Loser for Life says
September 15, 2010 at 5:15 amI’ve seen a couple of her workouts On Demand, but I’ve been skeered 😐 I mean, those Rock of Abs that she has don’t come from not workin’ hard! I used to watch her show on Bravo, too and saw when she was filming some of her videos. She’s one tough cookie, but not in an obnoxious way. Okay, I guess I’m talking myself into throwing my hat into the giveaway ring 😉
Allie says
September 15, 2010 at 5:17 amLOL @ your neighbor and I second that.
She should totally have a “normal person” in her next video (well, you’re not normal but :)) and it should be you.
My question?
Why the heck not?

September 15, 2010 at 5:18 amOh and love your video as always.
Hilarious.

September 15, 2010 at 5:18 amI could really use these DVDs now! I’d ask Jackie if she ever looks at a client and thinks “this is the one who is going to break me” in terms of exasperation with their attitude (haha, can you tell I’m watching Thintervention?).
Jenna says
September 15, 2010 at 5:20 amHmm… a question for Jackie Warner. I think the food part is so important, so mine would be “What do you eat?” Either that or “What the one thing you see clients struggle with over and over?”
Alissa says
September 15, 2010 at 5:21 amI just watched Thintervention the other day. I’d like to know her secrets to keeping motivated. What inspired her to get to where she is today, where did she start?
rebekah (clarity in creation.) says
September 15, 2010 at 5:21 ami would probably ask her what motivates her to press on in LIFE when it gets hard – not just in the gym, or eating well, but the hard things in her life. usually if we’re motivated in one area, we have a big motivator in other areas as well. i want to hear her secrets 🙂

September 15, 2010 at 5:28 amI must, must, MUST win this one! I love me some Jackie Warner! What a real and motivating trainer! I like her style!
If I were to get to ask her a question it would have to be how to tweak my routine and eating habits to finally get my BF to move! I train and train and keep my eats under control (mostly), but can’t seem to get the BF down. I used to be able to just work out and watch the junk food and it would peel right off. Now, it seems I have to concentrate really hard on a micro level and I’m still getting nowhere!
Jackie – Help!
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
September 15, 2010 at 5:28 amHow do you get past the point of “I don’t know how long I can keep this up?” I’m living a lifestyle change but sometimes my mind just floats back to the “old me” and how I used to eat and lounge around and it sounds like a good idea.
Sagan says
September 15, 2010 at 5:39 amThanks for the review – can’t wait to see your interview post with her!!
I would ask her what role nutrition plays in her exercise program, and what her exercise regime *really* looks like. It’s one thing to make a DVD for regular people, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s what HER workout is. So I’d be curious to know what activity she does each day. And what she eats on a regular basis to fuel that body!
Lindsay says
September 15, 2010 at 5:40 amWoo hoo!!

This isn’t fitness related but I wondered if she ever wants/wanted to have children?

September 15, 2010 at 5:51 amI’d like to know if she runs in her personal time and if so, what is her average per mile time.
Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman says
September 15, 2010 at 5:55 amFrom the looks of those DVD covers, if her shorts got any shorter she’d be wearing a bathing suit bottom. Maybe she covers up more in the videos?

September 15, 2010 at 6:05 amTotally laughing.
Yes in the VID her shorts are to her knees.

September 15, 2010 at 6:01 amOkay, so I haven’t watch the show..but its on my list..But if MIZ says…I believe her… I have been wishing and hoping for a personal trainer that would appear at my door..maybe, just maybe this will be it?
My question is WHEN will it be the MIZ jackie DVD?
JavaChick says
September 15, 2010 at 6:41 amI’ve been looking for a DVD like this – one that could easily be used to do short strength training sessions each day. A question…I’d be curious to know if Jackie thinks that doing a 15 minute strength training session each (most) day(s) is enough? If you are doing a really tough full body session, would once a week be enough? Twice?

September 15, 2010 at 6:59 amI can’t squat very low. How can I increase hip and hamstring flexibility? What is ‘the truth’ about stretching?
Ryan @NoMoreBacon says
September 15, 2010 at 6:59 amYou don’t need to enter me mostly because I’m afraid of her kicking my ass.
That being said, if I had a question for JW I would want to know what she uses as motivation. Obviously a lot of expectations are put on her to be super fit all the time, but I can’t imagine that’s what drives her.

September 15, 2010 at 7:03 amI love Jackie Warner! I met her a few months ago at a book signing and got a picture with her! Can’t wait to read about your phone interview! That DVD sounds good but I know myself well enough to know that unless I am at the gym or running outside, I’m not working out!
Laughing Lindsay says
September 15, 2010 at 7:04 amI found the most interesting part about Jackie is that she claims that she hates doing ab work, and rarely does.
She said in an episode that she uses her abs so much to support her in all the other training and lifting she does that they build strength on their own. Guess abs CAN be built in the kitchen too!
I’d ask her a little more about this whole idea. Which other exercises she does that tighten her abs so much that they ripple without actually crunching them.
Stephanie says
September 15, 2010 at 7:12 amWOW I have the biggest girl crush on Jackie! What a fabulous giveaway. And can I just say I’m so jealous that you’ve talked to her! And to the girl that met her at her book signing!
My question would be: Where do you find balance between your fitness goals and just living? To elaborate: I’m at the point where I’ve lost the majority of the weight but now I want to get lean and cut. But everywhere I look I have to count calories and restrict. I eat extremely healthy so I feel like calorie counting becomes so restrictive. I give up after a week. So how do you find that balance between enjoying meals and living life with working hard to have/maintain the body and fitness level such as yours?
Lara says
September 15, 2010 at 7:15 amI saw your tweet yesterday Miz where you said abs were made in the kitchen and you thought food consumption was 70 % of it.
I wonder if Jacike thinks the same?
Is that how she gets hers or are they genetics?
Kathleen says

September 15, 2010 at 7:28 amI would ask: If I run a lot should I still do weights for my legs?
Kimmi says
September 15, 2010 at 8:04 amI’d probably ask just how she pushes through those last moments when you think you can’t give anymore. What’s the magic phrase that makes your mind push past what your body thinks it can’t do?
Karen says
September 15, 2010 at 8:04 amI honestly had never heard of her until her recent show aired. I watched the first episode. My question – “Does anyone else comment that she looks like Scarlett Johansson?”

September 15, 2010 at 8:29 amI really did laugh out loud when you said about the shorts being shorter and I scrolled down and saw the silver…are those shorts? Is there a proper term for them in workout wear land?
Question for JW? Lunges are so good for you I always see them recommended but my knee isn’t strong enough to support my weight to do lunges, is there a good alternative?
Erica says
September 15, 2010 at 8:35 amI <3 <3 Jackie! Her new show is fabulous. I love that she focuses on both exercise and food. My favorite part of the show is when she had them drag around the "extra weight" they carry on a daily basis. Fantastic.
Emily says
September 15, 2010 at 8:48 amI’d love to win those DVDs! I’d also love to know whether JW had an “aha” moment when it comes to her fitness – and is it ongoing? Where does she find (and renew!) her passion?

September 15, 2010 at 9:49 amI’m a nutritionist and a person who (fairly) recently lost almost 100 pounds. I’d love to ask Jackie if she feels that her plan is realistic, meaning, something that people can stick with for life. The plan I used and now teach is just that, we don’t ask people to cut anything (like sugar) out of their diet where I know Jackie does. Obviously, my body does not look like hers and never will but I know that I eat healthy the majority of the time and I feel great but I also follow a nutrition program that I can live with for the rest of my life.
Thanks for the chance to win Miz Fit! Love your blog.

September 15, 2010 at 9:59 amOne question… I have been struggling with my weight since I was little. I start diets, end diets start exercise plans end exercise plans, I don’t want to be thin for anyone else but me, but it seems that I just can’t get myself to stick to anything, it is almost like I am just to tired and get defeated to quickly (as 5 mins into a routine I am exhausted) I weigh 240 and am about 5’5′ tall so about 75-100 pounds overweight, I am serious about losing weight but where do I start? Do I just calorie crash and stop eating? Do I gradually let my calories down?

September 15, 2010 at 10:24 amHm, just one question for Jackie…
What’s the most egregious fitness mistake (or myth) you have commonly seen (or heard)?
Lexa says
September 15, 2010 at 10:26 amI have the same question about whether or not Jackie has ever been overweight and if not how can she relate to those of us who struggle with obesity?
I guess if given the opportunity I would ask the same of you, MizFit.

September 15, 2010 at 10:26 amI’ve been looking for a new workout DVD and it’s good to hear a recommendation for this one from someone I trust.
I would ask Jackie about a good alternative to lunges that still will halp strengthen my legs and core – my knee just won’t let me do them anymore and I’m look for knee friendly (or even strengthening) alternatives for the legs and core…I’d trust her advice as from thelook of her abs she obviously has the core thing down 🙂

September 15, 2010 at 10:27 amMy wife loves Jackie Warner, watches her show and all.
My question on her behalf; Jackie you obviusly have an extreme sense of commitment, when faced with a client whose commitment level is not where it needs to be, what is the ace up your sleeve you use to get that client fired up and back on track?
Shayne says
September 15, 2010 at 10:27 amI’m a big Jackie fan too!
If I could question Jackie, I’d ask her for tips on how to make strength training more FUN for someone who just likes cardio way more and is easily bored by lifting weights.
But I’m sure you’ve got plenty of tips, too, MizFit. Love your podcast, love your site, and love your positive energy — thanks for being you!

September 15, 2010 at 10:32 amI would ask her if she is vegan, vegetarian, organic – what would she classify herself. And, does she eat chocolate cake if she really wants it or does she obstain from sugar at all costs? (I have watched every episode of Workout and Thintervention and I know she abhors sugar).
Kyle says
September 15, 2010 at 10:39 amMy question for Jackie:
Is there such a thing as a cardiovascular “plateau”? I’ve been working out since I was 17 (I’m 21 now) and no matter what I do, there are some workouts that shoot my heart rate to the sky – such as running – and they become unbearable. I HAVE to run at a snail’s pace to be able to keep it up, even after a couple years of interval training I’ve seen no increase in lung capacity or speed.

I did read the book from cover to cover. I was hoping she’d hop from in between the covers and make me do push-ups! But I do love her HIT at the end of the book – whew!
I would ask JW why she’s a proponent of HGH and why did the show chose whiny, rich folks vs. us po-folks who need a kick in the pants. Actually, that’s just my rant on the new show.

September 15, 2010 at 3:16 pmI think Jackie’s approach and attitude are right on! She puts things plain and simple, but no bs about it! Love it! I hate to hear people complain, just do it!!!!! I think that those are key points in keeping motivated and ensuring success!
Question: I am a type 1 diabetic (insulin dependent) 5’5″ about 119lbs, but I need to tone…I want to get ripped! However, I love sweets….like chocolate and peanut butter. What suggestions do you have for preventing or helping that type of craving? I think that I would see better results on my body if my intake of sweets was under control. September 15, 2010 at 6:56 pmI think Jackie charges too much an hour, but she has the clientele. I think she is dedicated as she showed up at a boot camp one of her trainers was giving. September 16, 2010 at 4:55 amI am not in the US so not entering but I was wondering if you think the DVD is challenging enough for someone who is already fit and has been weight training for many years? And how her workouts compare to the Jillian Michaels DVDs? Have you or any of you out there used both and able to compare?
My question for her would be ” What is your personal exercise regime (type, how often, how long)?”.
Thanks Carla 🙂

September 16, 2010 at 6:00 amNo disrespect intended, Miz but my question to Jackie would be HAVE YOU EVER READ THIS BLOG?
I enjoy the entertainment value of Thinspiration yet find I am more in alignment with Miz’ brand of doing a little every day forever (am I getting that correctly?) versus killing ourselves for a few weeks and stopping.
I more enjoy the posts where you help us, Miz, and not when you tout celebrity wisdom.

And point taken.
Well taken.
Thank you.

September 16, 2010 at 6:14 amThanks for the review. I love Jackie Warner’s style and the fact that she is honest with her clients yet gentle at the same time-she’s the anti-Jillian!

September 16, 2010 at 6:30 amI’m so excited about this! Everyone I know is raving about Jackie’s book, so I downloaded it for my Kindle last night! I can’t wait to read it! I love to pick up books that will give me a lifetime of reference material that I can go back to whenever I need a refresher or to give someone else info!
Now, I’m ready for my DVDs!
No, really. Send them NOW!
Either way, I’m getting some JW workouts at some point. Added to health and fitness wish list . . .

September 16, 2010 at 7:41 amMiz, I’ve not really done much in the way of exercise DVD’s, but then again, until a year and a half ago, I didn’t do much in the way of exercise at all!!! So maybe it’s time to turn another leaf for me? Huh?
P.S. Big shout out to you and Two Fit Chicks on my blog post today. I am enjoying your podcasts so much!

September 16, 2010 at 7:44 amThis may be a duplicate comment. If so, sorry. 🙂 Don’t know if the first one got send.
Anyway, I’ve never been big on exercise DVD’s, but until about a year and a half ago, I wasn’t big on exercise!!!! Time for me to turn another leaf? Possibly.
Miz, big shout out to you and Two Fit Chicks on my blog post today. Love your podcasts! Plan on working my way back and listening to each one. 🙂

September 16, 2010 at 12:15 pmI would love to know what tips Jackie has for quick meals and snacks, as I devote very little time to cooking and being in the kitchen.

September 16, 2010 at 12:41 pmI have been looking for an alternative to get me through this winter in the northwest. I think this could really kick my butt from and keep me out of the rain. Thanks for the review it is great to hear what you think there are so many crappy DVDs out there.

September 16, 2010 at 2:12 pmHeck, you know I love those workouts that Jackie gives out! Hard core stuff!!! How exciting that you got to talk to her!!!!
OK, I would have a million questions but since I am in Orange County not too far from her, I would ask if she needs a 53 year old (in November) lady that is fit & tough in one of her videos!!! 🙂 Hey, I know, a shameless plug!!!

September 16, 2010 at 2:20 pmWow…she’s amazing! My question would be how does she manage to keep it all together seemingly all the time? Does she ever have days where lack of motivation gets in the way, ie: I just want to eat a big greasy something and veg on the couch?

(my body is perfect already. Don’t add me to the real contestants.)

September 16, 2010 at 4:48 pmNice review Miz. With a four year old and 9 month old of my own, I appreciate the Tornado’s take on the videos too!
My question for Jackie would be where to start with a strength training program at home? I’m all over cardio, but am really at square one (read: clueless) with respect to starting a strength training routine. Thanks!

September 16, 2010 at 8:07 pmLove me some JW – she really rocks! My question is how do you combat c-section traumatized abs (I’ve always had a little spare tire, but now it’s more like a monster truck tire)? Which is why I NEED to win these DVDs!

September 17, 2010 at 8:01 amWow – What a fantastic giveaway. And double WOW – a question answered by Jackie Warner. My question is, how do you motivate someone to get active? Especially when the person needs to do some activity for their health, and the doctor’s recommendation to get some exercise just seems to fall on deaf ears. The person says they feel fine and don’t see the need to change their lifestyle. Very frustrating since fitness is a big part of my life. I hope I win because I’d appreciate the advice. Thanks for this great giveaway!

September 17, 2010 at 8:59 amLOL at the tide turning on Jackie.
You have a rabid following Miz.
I would love to win because I have no time to get to the gym and could REALLY use these.
Which also places me in the Miz & Jackie workout on the go DVD requesting camp 😉
Ha ve a great weekend.

September 17, 2010 at 9:22 amI just got her new book last week and my husband and I have been following the plan for 5 days now. Looking forward to a cheat meal tomorrow! My husband is down 5 pounds (has 50 to lose) and I am down 4 (have 10-15 to lose). I would love these workouts since I do a lot of workouts at home!
My question is for my husband…If he follows the guidelines in the book for what to eat each day (4-protein, 3 c vegetables, 1 fat etc.), it is not enough calories for him to get to 1800-2000. Do you have guidelines for what to add in to your diet if you are maintaining or need more calories than the basic plan provides? For example, increase fruit, or add another fat serving or focus on more protein, etc.
The new show has been great to watch and we are both very motivated and excited by tips in the show and the book!

September 17, 2010 at 1:00 pmOMG. Jackie Warner is awesome, you can find her on Exercise on Demand (what? you don’t know about that? Find it on digital cable! It rocks! Maybe channel 1021 is the southeast? Free. Exercise. On Demand.)
Anyway, I didn’t know she was releasing a video, but I would love it. My question, how much do you work out per day for that awesome body?
Cheryl Knott says
September 17, 2010 at 1:03 pmMy question would be frequency of ab work. Every day or every other day. Any other muscle group seems to require a day of rest, yet some prescribe ab work every day.

September 17, 2010 at 1:31 pmI would love to ask Jackie how to create a stomach like hers when all my food seems to go there first?

September 17, 2010 at 1:40 pmI want to know what her thoughts are on working out while sick. Sometimes I get these colds that last 2 weeks no matter how much rest I get – I’ve ended up just working out through them but is this doing more damage?

September 17, 2010 at 9:57 pmI loved Jackie’s 1st show and am enjoying Thintervention. My question to Jackie is how do you start over? I joined a gym 2 years ago had a trainer who motivated the heck outta me just loved loved loved him, went 4 -5 times a week whether I was working out with him or not. Changed my diet and lost 20 lbs. Then my husband took a 30% cut in pay so the trainer was out and claen eating and supplements are VERY expensive so they are gone too. I’ve tried on my own for about a year now but I find myself not goin to the gym ( my trainer was the only person I ever talked to there) and been eating crap for the past month. How do I start over?

September 19, 2010 at 6:28 amMiz, tried the pumpkin protein pancakes this morning and used the chocolate protein powder instead, chocolate pumpkin protein pancakes.
My review, definitely have potential. Hubby even loved the flavor. It’s the consistency that was the problem. They cooked up like pancakes and looked like pancakes on the outside, but the inside was still wet. Going to try adding just a tiny bit of flour to them, maybe a tablespoon or so to see if that helps. Any pointers? Maybe it was a little more than half the can of pumpkin? Or maybe add a bit more Fiber One?
Anyway, going to give it another go later in the week, because like I said, the flavor is good. Now let’s see if the “protein” part of it helps me. 🙂

September 19, 2010 at 10:08 pmI love that Jackie Warner and her tough love!
I think I’d ask her two things…I’d want her best piece of advice to stay motivated – getting up and out and to the gym/working out in the morning…when your body and mind are saying ‘no no no’
annnnnd
I would ask her how the heck she stays away from sugar! I’ve been trying to get that white sugar monkey off my back for years now, and I always break down! What on earth is the secret for kicking that habit for good?
Ok, that’s what I’ve got, I’m so ready for Jackie Warner to WORK ME OUT!

September 20, 2010 at 8:46 pmEnter me!
I would ask JW when she is going to cut her hair off and put on some short shorts!!!
I might also ask her for a magic pill to increase muscle in my upper chest… Off to do some more push-ups.

September 21, 2010 at 1:14 pmI just started watching Thintervention and love it! I love that it’s more real than some of those “other” reality weight loss shows and she’s not screaming or beating clients.
My question would have to be, how do you deal with clients that are losing momentum and motivation? When a plateau is hit, how do you work to overcome it?

September 30, 2010 at 10:06 pmI’d love to have Jackie’s opinion on this because I never hear anyone address it…working out regularly/intensely (particularly cardio) really increases my appetite. Eating a reduced calorie diet and maintaining that kind of rigorous exercise has proved difficult, so what ends up happening with me is I end up exercising more AND eating a little more – thus GAINING weight when I really amp up my workouts. I’m a woman – I’m trying to get lean and skinnier, not bulky like a man. I have a hard time striking the balance between getting enough cardio to stay fit and burn calories, but not so much cardio that I’m ravenous all the time. Help!!
