First lets take a moment and address the obvious given the photographic evidence above: indeed. living in Texas ROCKS.  I miss my hometown peeps—but wouldnt trade the winters here for anything.

Onward.

Review’ward.

I get pitched on a daily basis to review products.

By way of full greedy dizclosure (alert! alert! FTC this is for you!) I reached out to Nuu-Muu and begged to do a review.

Id found them through a Google search for exercise dresses (I love me some exercise dresses) and was filled with an immediate & unrelenting longing.

Im sure I should be embarrassed that I contacted & pestered till they relented (and generously offered one up for you readers too) but Im not.

I *told* you the word-play here was more MISFIT than MISS. FIT—but I digress.

What did I freakin’ love about my Nuu-Muu:

  • It was as fab as advertised. We all know this is not always the case. It was as lovely in person/in hand as it was depicted in their website.  This is a biggie for me as Im finding so many items these days which look great and well-made on my computer screen and not so much in person.
  • It transitioned from gym/playground to dinner out seamlessly. By now we all know this is a *huge* necessity for me.  I love how my Nuu-Muu didnt look too ‘dress-like’ for the gym or too gym-like for going out afterward.  The seamless is a pun.  Ive found that by donning SEAMLESS capris underneath I mitigate the workout look of the dress for my excursions afterward.  And YES. I don the platform flipflips.  Always.
  • GREEN GREEN GREEN The Tornado & I have been chatting a bunch about recycling. I noticed and loved that my Nuu-Muu came in recycled and recyclable packing (& tags!).  Every little greenbit helps.
  • They give back. From working with Girls on the Run to donating proceeds to the Komen foundation.  Im 100% more likely to shop with charity-minded companies.  100%

What did I not-so-much love about my Nuu-Muu?

  • There were no EXACT matching mom & daughter Nuu-Muus (dizclaimer: Ive always been bad at that Memory card game. Theres a chance these do exist on site and I just, uh, failed to match them?) I know the Tornado will be over her interest in matching me in about 10 seconds.  I love to seize the matchymatch while I can.
  • They need some of us more people on their athlete’s page. ‘Nuff said.

    I don’t think I would have the confidence right now to exercise in a dress so I think I would wear it to and from my yoga class.

  8. Wow, so cute. I would wear it all day. I could wear it to the gym or wear it out on a jog or wear it to the grocery store or in the garden, and definitely looks comfy enough to wear when I pull an all-day-at the computer work day!

    This has me so excited you have no idea. If I had a nuu-muu I would likely run around in it all day mooing. It cannot be helped with a name like nuu-muu, it is too fantastic.

  12. I must say I am a running skirt fan but have not even tried on a running dress yet. I am curious though. Well at least now.

    I would wear this running when I run in the dark 🙂 and when I am fitter I would wear it in the light.

    • we do have some matching girls dresses to go with some of the women’s offerings….and….coming around the end of February there will be two brand new styles available for both woman and girls!

  15. This totally does not look like a workout dress! Glad you’re loving it. The style makes it totally transferable from the weight room to a restaurant. LOVE that. Plus it looks like it has a little more room than most traditional workout dresses….which this preggers needs 😉

    What would I do in my NUU-MUU??
    I would get up, shower and promptly slip it over my head-
    voila! Im dressed. **Let’s pretend it is SUMMER here in Maine** Underneath-my shorty’s.
    First order of business?
    Out for a run with Lola and the Jogger. An early and easy 5 miles together (don’t wanna get TOO sweatty!) singing and counting birds, trees, finding different colors (yes, this is what we do on nice weather jogger runs together). Stop at the neighborhood farm stand to supplement the produce we don’t grow in our own garden.
    Then off to the library for out 10am Toddler Time reading/story hour which we made on time since I did not have to go home and change out of my “running gear”.
    From the Library we stop at New Morning Naturals, grab some yummy lunches and head on over to see my Mom at work and bring her lunch! SHe comments how it’s nice to see me in something other than yoga pants or running shorts for once. I thank her with a grin 😛
    Now we head to the beach to play in the sand and Im still looking cute in my NUU-MUU!! And it is no problem if we get it a little wet since it moisure wicking and quick to dry!
    3pm rolls around and it’s naptime for Lola–I do some Kettlebells while she naps and then hubbs gets home. Time to tend the garden and get dinner together.
    He comments how cute I look in my “dress”. I smile because I know I do too! 🙂 And I smile because it was all so easy!!
    Best of all, he could not complain about all the money I spent on more running/workout gear since I won it from MIZFIT so HE smiles too!!

  23. OOH! If I had a Nuu-Muu, I would wear it after races. That way, I would feel very comfortable, and look stylish as well! Usually after races, I just throw on some shorts and a t-shirt, so the Nuu-Muu would be a big improvement for me!

  24. Tornado’s making movies now. They grow up so fast. Love the pink nailpolish as well.

    I’d run in my Nuu-Muu. I’d lift weights like a star. I’d go to the grocery store. But most importantly, I’d be able to cover my belly pooch when wearing tights! 😀

  25. I’m not sure I’d even exercise in mine. It looks PERFECT for wicking away the humidity induced sweat while sitting on my patio with some jazz and a beverage, if summer ever freaking gets here!

  27. Oh man, these are fantastic! I’m one of those people that sort of likes working out, but really get into it more if I like my clothes. (Hence the special gym-only clothes. If I want to wear the cuteness, I have to go to the gym!) This would make getting off my tush and to the gym so much fun. And I wouldn’t feel like such a sweaty mess when I have to run errands afterwards.

    I’d lift really heavy weights and grunt while doing it. And then I’d do some twirls and pirouettes, because, well when you have a dress on.

    Seriously, this is the coolest ever!

    I searched far and wide for muu-muu like clothing post-surgery and would still love to find shoulder-friendly on and off clothing.

    I’d probably live in that during the spring, summer and fall.

  33. I really like that dress! Really, really like it. The breezy aspect would make it so wonderful to run in – and then run around town in…LOVE IT!

    As for the dress, Carla, my feet are so bad that I can’t wear any shoes beyond WIDE sneakers/fitness shoes these days… no pretty heals & flats cause the wide feet & bunions don’t fit in them so I might wear it at home too around the house just so the hubby sees me in a dress every so often! 🙂

    (By the way…love your arms! I know there is some muscle somewhere under all the layers of love on my arms…I’m going to find it and show it off in my new Nuu-Muu!)

    • Im in an XS. A small would have worked too but just would have been roomier around the bottom/A-LINE area

    Second that would just go everywhere with me – my current gym to night out solution is throw a skirt on over my workout capris and rock it like it’s a style and hope that people just think I am cutting edge!

  51. I love the Nuu Muu, hadnt seen them before. So I checked out the site, which, btw, the last link didnt work from my phone.

    A couple years back, I met the man I adore. We looked at having a ‘big’ wedding but….. I want a beachside informal, dogs and flipflops sunshine affair. There is one red and white one which would be perfect for a beachside, sand in your toes affair.

    My man is a big USATF runner, I fell down a flight of stairs and am gently starting to retrain. So…..that wedding dress will not be relegated to a storage box, never to see light of day again.

    I dont post a lot, been busy remodeling our new ‘old’ house, but my hearts a Mizfitter thru and thru… Keep sharing!

  55. I will wear my Nuu Muu to cook and bake in. Also to run errands and grocery shop in. to yoga and my chiropractor appointment. on my morning runs – treadmill now, outdoors in the spring! with tights under to weight lift at the gym! I’ll wear it to blogger conferences with a cardigan, and again with tights or yoga pants for a comfortable airplane ride!

  59. If I had a Nuu-Mu, I’d wear it for a run to the park, then do pushups and reverse chinups on the monkey bars. Then I’d do fartleks barefoot through the grass and skip home! 😀

  60. Cute!! I checked out the website and love all of the different layering combinations. If I won I would wear my Nuu-Muu on my morning walk and then to school to volunteer in my kids’ classrooms!
