enroute to Fitbloggin ’13.
This year I wont be able to attend our family reunion Fitbloggin.
(I’m gonna sit with that for a moment and drag you in with me. It’s the first one Ive missed. I was there at BlogHer back in the DAY when Roni conceived of the idea and have helped/attended each year since.)
And, because I have absolutely no filter and speak my truth it is ONLY because my family needs me.
My daughter needs me right now.
And Im living my priorities and practicing what I preach.
Even when that practice tremendously bums me out (technical term and diagnosis. who knew?).
You see, Fitbloggin is far more than a conference.
- It taught me how to get sponsors for my blog and for events.
- It revealed my penchant for personalized apparel.
- It allowed me to show YOU how to get muscles in minutes!
- It made me tear up with FIVE simple words.
- It showed me the POWER OF SHOES.
(and yes. it provided one of the most embarrassing moments of my MISFIT life—but that’s not important right now.)
This year I wont be able to attend our family reunion Fitbloggin.
So consider this your loving reminder to go.
Learn.
Instagram.
Facebook.
Blog.
I’ll be out here watching, absorbing and plotting my 2015 return (cue suspense-filled music).

June 12, 2014 at 4:42 amNext year for sure, but you don’t need to be an established blogger — or even have a blog — to enjoy Fitbloggin. You will meet great people and learn so much!

June 12, 2014 at 12:17 pmThis is the first year I AM going and I have to say, I’m really sorry to hear you won’t be there! I’m also an Ignite speaker and working on my presentation right now (biting fingernails) so I could use all the friendly faces I know. I’m sad you won’t be one of them but I love that you’re living your truth. Maybe next year…

June 12, 2014 at 2:17 pmI have never been to FitBloggin but hope to go one day. This Aug. will be the 1st time I have missed a biz workshop I have been going to since their 2nd one. This one is the 12th. I’m struggling but I know it’s the right decision to save that $ for a big upcoming vacation. It will be hard seeing everyone there connecting so I know how you feel having to miss it. But family comes first.
Hope we’ll be able to cross paths again one day at a FitBloggin conference.

June 12, 2014 at 4:45 pmHow i would dearly love to! You have my sympathy for having to miss it. There’s a “yearly sanity retreat” that i dearly love, and it’s starting to look more and more like i’m going to have to miss that for the very first time ever, and it’s breaking my heart.
