Oh people.
Have you seen me?
Ive been furtively scrambling my Egg Beaters 100% egg whites & inhaling them while youre not looking.
Ive been pouring my EB whites in my microwave oats & snarfing them when I think youre off reading other blogs or tweets.
Ive gots the Egg Beaters guilts.
Or, more aptly put, as of today I had the Egg Beaters guilts.
For some reason I got it into my misfit-head I needed to be more of a ‘cook’ in order clearly convey my E.B. love.
(you know, like I imagine this woman or this woman might be.)
I feared I needed to change the way I consumed my ‘beaters so you were compelled to print my posts Id say ‘or pin my posts’ here, too, but Im still very antiPinterest. I know I know… because you simply could not live another moment without trying my recipes.
And then it occurred to me that my easy-eat-on-the-run & simple-to-slip-into-my-day way of snarfing the ‘beaters is precisely why I love them so.
Ive looked to Egg Beaters 100% egg whites for *years* for a fast, easy protein infusion.
I love how Im no longer throwing away multiple yolks & yet can still toss in some fat (avocado, cheese, olive oil etc) where I want.
I don’t get fancy with them which makes my Egg Beaters consumption pretty much like every.other.facet of my life.
Ive been eating them for decades and yet it was only the launching of our partnership which made me realize this ‘lack of fancy’ is why I love them.
They are an easy, fast, small change we can all make which will result in bigger muscles in our being more healthy.
They are something I advocate *adding* to your day in addition to all the myriad ways youre already living a fit life.
They are something Im truly stunned to the *core* my husband has started eating on a regular basis & adores as I do all because of the ease.
They are something I love. and which Ive finally gots no guilt about the fact I use them in the way which works best for me:
SIMPLE, FAST and EASY.
And that’s (dramatic pause as I remind myself *again*) OK.
Ive shed the guilt about my not being Egg Beaters 100% egg whites fancy.
It’s like my beloved Theodor Geisel said:
Those who mind dont matter, and those who matter will totally hit me up in the comments below with their creative Egg Beaters cooking ideas and links to their recipes & blogs*.
Is your cooking-style simple, fast & easy as mine is?
Or do you, like many bloggers, enjoy the process of complicated food creation & find it serves to relax you?
*I am sort of paraphrasing a bit here.
This post is sponsored by Egg Beaters 100% egg whites who generously offer recipes on their website. The opinions & skull salt shaker pictured above are all my own.

May 4, 2012 at 5:19 amDon’t go changing! The ease factor is a huge PLUS for me, especially for breakfast. Don’t feel guilty – you should feel pretty pleased with yourself that you’ve highlighted an easy way to get morning protein. 🙂

May 4, 2012 at 5:20 amDude, I haven’t even managed to perfect the cook ’em in a mug thing. Lots of microwave cleaning here.
But they do rock my world when I pour them on top of my sauteed vegetables and then top that with a little cheese. Yum!
Emeril, I am not.

May 4, 2012 at 5:36 amI think you are using them exactly as EB intended! 🙂

May 4, 2012 at 8:55 amIt’s how I use them too. I only scramble Miz.

May 4, 2012 at 5:42 amI need your recipe for adding EBWhites to oatmeal. I’m that clueless.
Izzy says
May 4, 2012 at 5:49 amI need that oats idea too!!
Miz says
May 4, 2012 at 5:55 amtoday I shall measure and let you know exactly but what I do is:
Use less water than normal.
I typically use 2 cups (I eat a lot) so I’ll use a a cup and a half.
Make in microwave for less time than normal (about a min less).
Add in half cup of beaters.
Microwave for 20 seconds.
Stirrrrr.
Microwave for about 20 more seconds.
Hope this helps.
It’s a …. MORNING here 😉
More soon.

May 4, 2012 at 6:33 amHow much are you making DRY?
Molly says
May 4, 2012 at 10:23 amThat’s almost what I do. I use less water (it looks like you’re using a cup of dry oats?) and more whites.
It becomes way thick.
Karen@WaistingTime says
May 4, 2012 at 6:07 amI am not a good cook. I’d much prefer easy peasy. Increases my chances that I’d do it and that it will be edible:)
Lila says
May 4, 2012 at 6:12 amFor me finding out about Egg Beaters whites from you isn’t just about the Egg Beaters.
I needed the reminder healthy eaing can be simple. I always thought I should try scrambled egg whites (I add in olive oil for fat) and just never bothered seperating.
Lori says
May 4, 2012 at 6:25 amI loooove to cook, but with working (even though it is at home), I often need quick go to meals. Eggs are a staple of mine and I love egg whites in my oats.

May 4, 2012 at 7:18 amyep. a musing of love to something I’ve eaten since the 70s and a brand I’m excited to have the chance work with.
Please to enjoy.

May 4, 2012 at 7:13 amWhen I get all fancy, I like to saute some sliced mushrooms in the pan, then add the egg mixture, then throw in some spinach leaves and some crumbled feta. I call that dinner! 🙂

May 4, 2012 at 7:15 amI believe it’s called a sponsored post, Kevin.
I love Egg Beaters, too Mizzy.
Kevin says
May 4, 2012 at 8:09 amTia: Right, no I get it. It’s just that we just had an Egg Beaters post-mercial on April 16. I understand many bloggers’ desire to monetize their blogs, I guess I just get disappointed when I see that the day’s post on one of my favorite blogs is an “advertorial” or another “giveaway” (read: commercial) instead of actual, meaningful content. I guess I just feel cheated. And I’m by no means laying this on MizFit – lots of sites do it. And if it were a site I didn’t care about, it wouldn’t bother me.
Really, she should take it as a compliment, that her actual writing is so valued that people are vocally disappointed when it’s replaced by shilling for a corporate sponsor instead. 🙂
Danielle @ FoodosaurusRex says
May 4, 2012 at 7:42 amI love egg beaters – it’s so much easier than cracking the eggs and hoping you don’t break the yolk and have to start all over again!
I definitely prefer fast, easy, and accessible over complicated. Usually when I make something complicated it’s because I didn’t completely read the recipe before starting, and am in too deep when I realize what’s going on. I am not a fan of the take-up-every-burner-on-the-stove-and-all-your-counter-space-recipes!
Cat @ Breakfast to Bed says
May 4, 2012 at 7:50 amLove you do I!!
try them with kale and hummus, let kale sit with a bit of salt and lemon juice on it for awhile, and then nuke it with the egg whites and top with red pepper hummus. MMM.

May 4, 2012 at 8:37 amI so relate to your non-cooking ways! EB’s are one of my favs because of the fact they keep me out of the kitchen! I do love to cook but hate the clean up. So until I win the lotto I’ll be happily zapping much of my food 🙂

May 4, 2012 at 9:13 amI buy my eggs locally, just down the road from a neighbor who raises them, the hens roam and are pastured raised and live a very healthy, natural non-factory life. What about egg beaters? Are the hens that ultimately create the product raised in an ethical way, being fed quality feed and not factory farmed? This is an important question for so many these days.
addy says
May 4, 2012 at 9:19 amI pour them in my oats, add them to cold cereal, pour them in my juice drinks…. scramble when feeling ambitous! Ya morning must not get complicated ’round here. Must keep it simple.
misszippy1 says
May 4, 2012 at 9:55 amThe ease is definitely the beauty of Egg Beaters! I am not an elaborate cook, by any means (there are so many creative, great cooks in blogger land that I admire!). But given a little time, like on the weekend, I like to go a little bit further than I might on a busy weeknight.

May 4, 2012 at 10:05 amI feel the same way about tofu. I buy it prepared and seasoned from the Whole Foods salad bar and eat it with everything. Another quick and easy protein.

May 4, 2012 at 11:31 amLOVE cause I am so like you Carla – no recipes coming from me – I am simple & easy & very few ingredients & it may not look good but it sure tastes good to me – isn’t that what counts! 😉
One of my fave quotes you used but changed a bit! 😀

May 4, 2012 at 12:35 pmI am all for ease. I am lazy when it comes to food. It’s probably why I so enjoy still living at home. I get home from the gym after work and my dinner is ready or leftovers are assembled on the counter, lids already slightly askew, ready for re-heating (or re-crisping in pizza or cornbread’s case). I go out to eat a ton for the fancy and the unique. Someone is making it for me. But do I want to make that myself? NO WAY. Give me ease!
Amanda says
May 4, 2012 at 1:58 pmI was all over this the first time I heard pasteurized.
Katie says
May 4, 2012 at 1:47 pmI eat the beaters too. For the same reasons as you do – the ease, the guilt-free-no-wasting-of-the-yolk (I can tell myself the egg beater folks use them….somehow), the simplicity, etc.
My all time favorite use is to just steam a load of veggies, pour in some beaters, nuke. Add salsa and serve. DONE.
messymimi says
May 4, 2012 at 2:02 pmIf you are what you eat, does that make me cheap, quick, and easy? (Sorry, it’s my standard line.)
There is no reason to feel badly about what you are doing, you are getting it right.
Kierston says
May 4, 2012 at 2:33 pmEasy as 1.2.3. That’s how I like cooking up my egg whites! Over the stove, in the oven or in the microwave! No fuss no muss 😉
I love me my Egg Whites right before me eyes! lol
Kara says
May 4, 2012 at 2:45 pmI’ve never tried them to tell you the truth, and I’m not sure why people are so scared of eating eggs. Can anyone tell me whats so bad about them?
Miz says
May 4, 2012 at 2:57 pmno eggs fear here. I love my eggs but adore the ease of these.
Less waste (I was tossing a few yolks as I eat a lot of eggs :-)) and ADORE the ability to pour the EB straight in my smoothies since they are pasteurized!
Lindsay @ In Sweetness and In Health says
May 4, 2012 at 4:31 pmI’m all about quick meals and snacks. I usually buy regular eggs because of my grad student budget…but I have a feeling that as soon as I start making some money I’ll buy them regularly 🙂
Angela @ Happy Fit Mama says
May 4, 2012 at 5:22 pmI go back and forth. Some days I like quick and easy. Other days I like slow and detailed. Those days are mostly on the weekend when I have the time.

May 6, 2012 at 7:33 amSimple is good! Especially for breakfast. I usually just toss whatever veggies we have into an egg white omelet. Yum.

May 11, 2012 at 7:25 amI’m definitely more along the lines of your cooking style; I know what I like, so I take a few ingredients, throw ’em together and call it a day. But I must admit, I do LOVE eggs. My specialty is some diced ham, red orange and yellow peppers, garlic powder, pepper, a liiiiitttle bit of cheese, and I’m done! Everyone thinks throwing some milk in there makes them fluffier, but it’s a down right lie, their even better sans milk!
