but I really like this post. I'd feel embarrassed & prideful, but the more I thought about it (& the more times I wrote and deleted *this* post) the more I realized I liked what writing it made me do. I like how I was compelled to stop, step back, and assess how Ive gotten where I am today. Please to enjoy. I know I enjoyed & learned (about myself) from writing it. ... Continue Reading

Labor Day Chickenbus.
I wont lie to you, People. Im feeling awkward. I long to blog about the Garten of the Kinder. I love how writing clarifies the experience in my mind & makes me SNICKER all over again (as when the Tornado's teacher referred to her as SNOTTY & I thought she meant rude. #ForgotNoseWasRunningFAIL). Yet I cant lie to you. It's feels as though Im completely gazing into this tattooed ... Continue Reading
Zensah compression sleeve giveaway.
(no. this picture was not posed. yes. it does frighten me a little.) After our email exchange Zensah was generous enough to offer to send me a pair of the compression sleeves to review* After my experience wearing them I decided I must spread the love and PURCHASE a pair for one of you. But Im getting ahead of myself. My Sleeve'periences: bulleted for your reading pleasure. What did I like ... Continue Reading
Remembering a life cut short.
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. This month (like the other 11) I'll be thinking a great deal about my friend Sue who passed away only two months after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The picture above is from her 50th birthday party. A surprise party which even at the time seemed a fantastically, perfectly over-the-top celebration of my friend’s 50 ... Continue Reading
What’s the point of compression sleeves?
For those of you who may not know, this is a compression sleeve: (Im lobbying for a TATTOO-pattern Misfit Sleeve!) I already knew I loved me some Zensah compression apparel. I love my Zensah compression skirt & sports bra: I adore my PINK Zensah compression tank-top: I'm painfully aware (literally & metaphorically) I'm not a hardcore runner----yet I'd become uber-curious ... What would you give? (guest post)
I love the interwebs, even more so over the past several years with the advent of social media growing so much. It makes the world a much smaller place. Without the interwebs, I likely would never have met any of the phenomenal fitbloggers I’ve had the joy of meeting in person, like our own MizFit (don’t EVEN get me started on how muchI freaked out excited I was when she asked me to write a ... Kindergarten: a pictures post.
(Yes, People, we are starting way back. You're lucky this post didnt begin with baby pictures. You can thank me for those edits later.) Muffin Morning. Meet the teacher morning. No words required for how I adored her choice of outfit right down to the running skirt. She chose my outfit too & seriously I have no idea how she found that dress I'd forgotten I owned (thought I ... Continue Reading
Things Ive learned since losing almost half of me (guest post).
You have to start out small. Do not look at the big number you need to lose by the time you are done. Set small reachable goals like 5% of your weight or 5 or 10 pound increments. Each time you reach one celebrate! Chipping away at 120 pounds was easier when I looked at it 10 pounds at a time. You will sustain change over time by making 1-2 small changes every week or 2 and building upon them. I ... Continue Reading
**cue confetti shaped like triceps**
Subtitle: No Tornado. No cry. Ahhh People. Ive been derailed from the workouts PLAYouts over the last month or so. It has been hotter than the proverbial Mo Fo in the ATX and, quite frankly, I chose (theres that word again) to follow the Tornado's pre-K lead and do what she wanted to do. We colored (that didnt work the triceps). We painted our nails in bright circa 1980s flashy colors ... Continue Reading
