subtitle: post coming after donation is complete. please to zip to comment number 6 for the grand total raised for Safeplace via YOUR efforts.
I cant believe it is almost 2009 (*glances up at personal mission statement posted on wall, notes things not achieved & wonders where the time went!?*).
In an effort to spare you the Year in Review post I decided to look ahead.
To be forward thinking (like my reverse mentors) & share with you a few things I have in the works for 2009.
Sure some may never, ever happen—but isnt that the fun of it all? Working & waiting to see what transpires.
Im really excited about a new monthly feature coming our way:
Dave Grotto, of 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life & Certified Laugh Leader extraordinaire, will be joining the Bumbling Band for a Guytitians Food of the Month Club.
Through monthly video clips Dave shall share with us factiods, information, recipes, & reasons why we should add a specific food to our diets.
(Dave also launched his own radio show on December 20th. Check out his impressive lineup (including Michael Roizen, MD β author of YOU: The Ownerβs Manual and YOU: on a Diet) & find out how to tune in here.)
Speaking of new stuff happening & seeing a whole lot more of MizFit’s messy mug around the internet...
Starting January 19th Capessa.com is launching a new series.
The show is called Real Talk and is, essentially, a dialogue among woman on the topics of health, parenting, relationships, and beauty.
I was selected to talk about health issues weighing on the minds of real woman & the episodes Im in will run every two weeks at Capessa.
I’ll relay information on the series closer to January 19th, but one thing I do know it is *more* about Miz than you’d ever wanted hoped to know. Much. More.
Also coming in 2009 is the MizFit Seal of Approval.
It has always been my policy to only review/write about products I would or already do use myself.
In my mind the logical extension of policy was to create a MizFit Seal of Approval for items I truly adore.
Books, dvds, foodstuffs, websites *anything* which is healthy, makes our Bumbling Band lives easier, is cost effective, easy to use etc.
The Miz Seal of Approval unlike, say, advertising will neither be something which can be purchased nor will I give it to every product I review.
Lastly?
In the year to come MizFit shall have the honor of plopping her bottom on Oprah’s couch, start her own monthly blog at NikeWomen.com where she’ll maintain complete & utter freedom to snark her mind, publish her Giggle & Grow children’s book chock full of rhymes on health & development, AND will kick off her international MizFit Motivation Tour 2009. (dragging a few other bloggers along with her. please to note she’s willing to change the name.)
Hmmm, that’s about it up in herre.
And you?
You off to brave the mall today? working? relaxing? office partying?
You got some fun shit chickenbus up your sleeve for 2009?
Id love to know.
What DO I already know?
Merely by commenting you shall be entered to win a fabulous knit hat by none other than Eileen (thanks Eileen!), a Bumbling Band member and knitter extraordinaire.
No matter where you live (seriously. what’s the deal with TX & the frigid temps?!) a splash of color & a little extra warmth is always a good thing —–so please to hit us all up in the comments.

December 24, 2008 at 7:57 amIt looks like 2009 is going to be a great MizFit year!! I’m looking forward to all that is in store.
For me, you already know I’m kicking the year off with a half-marathon (well, on Jan 17). So that is why today, even though I don’t have to work, I’m up at 6:30 to go for a 5-mile run. And this Saturday it’s 10 miles!! It’s a toasty 20 degrees outside, and hopefully not too slippery. Wish me luck.
You also know that I’m trying to get pregnant, but if that doesn’t happen anytime soon, I may shoot for a marathon (gasp!!!).
I shall anxiously await a stop in SLC from the MizFit Motivation Tour, and I’m with Linda, I’m all over an Entourage for your Oprah appearance (I can play Eric to your Vince, he he).

December 24, 2008 at 8:21 amToday I’m cooking like a fiend, so all I have to do tomorrow is throw pans of said food in the oven – easypeasy Christmas for me!
And yes, I agree that the temps in TX have been unusually cold – I mean, I know that it’s nothing compared to other parts of the country, but that’s part of why we suffer through the TX summer heat, so we don’t have to endure the cold!
I totally need to learn how to knit in 2009 (but for now would LOVE something handknit to keep this South Texas girl warm!).
Sassy says
December 24, 2008 at 8:22 amMy biggest (really measurable) goals:
– Save up enough money for a wedding and a kick-ass vacation, errr… honeymoon.
– drop at least one more pants size, preferably 2. (this will be one of my methods of measuring my ongoing fitness and health goals. The scale has not been my friend in that sense recently. Stupid scale!)
– give back more. More time (volunteering), more money (donations), and more love and appreciation (to friends and family).

I eat too much and don’t drink enough water, and sometimes make my hubby angry with my stupidity. Therefore, after the first, I will only drink you once a month. I hope you understand my needs.

December 24, 2008 at 3:48 pmWow, you are one busy lady. It sounds like you have some great stuff lined up for 2009. I plan on following along and watching it all unfold and see what I can learn to help my journey to healthy-ness. Congrats on the donations and matchings, etc, that is awesome! π

December 24, 2008 at 5:09 pmI’ve had a ball clicking on the links in this post. I’m so impressed with Mr. Guyitician that I’m going to copy him and shoot to become a Certified Laughter Leader. That sounds like it’s right up my alley! Oh, and I added those blogs you’re dragging along with you to my blogroll. Serious thanks! You inspire me, and apparently, many, many others! Have a very Happy Holiday season.

December 24, 2008 at 6:22 pmLady, you are *so* going to be on Oprah this year. I just know it. And if she misses the boat on THIS, then maybe in 2010 Miss Oprah will be clamoring to have a guest spot on *your* blog-couch! (Hmmm, yes… a guest post from Oprah. I see it…)

December 24, 2008 at 9:10 pmI have big dreams for ’09 but only vague plans at this point. We’re considering some big (and fun) changes on the home front but not sure yet.
I do have a set fitness plan, at least. I’m waiting for shipment of Cathe Friedrich’s new STS weights program. It’s going to kick my butt and I can’t wait to start it. OK, actually I can wait. If it arrived today I’d probably wait until January first. It’s a 12-week killer DVD series that should turn me into a colossal bundle of pulsating muscles. Or at least make me a tiny bit stronger–that might be a more realistic goal.

December 24, 2008 at 9:52 pmHi Miz, it’s late ‘eve’ and I am just now reading your post and so proud of you and your efforts. I’m amazed yet not surprised at all these upcoming wonders.
I am so glad to be able to watch as they unfold.
Happiest of Hanukkah this whole week.
Won’t it be nice when it’s all over and we can get on with our routines?
Love!
